- Back again with another Wommit track, here is the iconic Train Chase Theme in true synth fashion. Using the DX7 and EMU Emulator II a lot here for that 'cheaper' sound while trying to fit in all the bits the original had.

An almost naked man, an intelligent dog rapidly putting train tracks down, and a criminal penguin packing heat all riding a model train set.
Somehow this music makes it work!

I think I like this better than the original since I kind of instinctively think of synth music when it comes to British stop motion/miniature characters. You never miss!

Imagine if the Train Chase music replaced the runaway theme in Thomas.
Even as a kid, I wouldn't've been able to take those scenes seriously. This song is too goofy.
or, imagine if the two were remixed together... the music leans more towards wommit for comical moments, while shifting more thomasesque for dramatic bits
Every time I watch James runaway in the trampy movie runaway I always pictured this song being played
Julian Nott (the W&G composer) said this song was a bit of a rule-breaker.
He said he tried scoring the scene with chase music and it had “no sense of fun”, so he instead tried all-out comedy music and that’s what we got.
It works for the W&G Train Chase, but wouldn’t for Thomas runaways because you’d get no sense of danger, which Mike & Junior’s runaway theme had plenty of.
It would make ever train runaway incredibly unserious and pretty goofy

Oh man, this scene. Grew up loving model trains (still do) so you bet I was rewatching this part of the episode a whole bunch. You did a great job on it!
Well done! It's very lively and has a great speedy bounce to it! The train chase scene is the most iconic part of the film and lives rent free in my head.

While I’m a little disappointed this isn’t in the lower pitch as I remember (and prefer) it, I still love this immensely. Another brilliant job! 🔥❤️
Im not a big fan of the low pitch Wallace and Gromit music I prefer the medium pitch better
I don’t. It’s not what I was used to growing up.
Also as it turns out the lower pitch is biblically accurate (lol), given Peter Sallis’ voice lines are too high pitched when the music is played at its “correct” higher pitch.

There’s no Thomas instruments here, it’s the synthesiser used for Fireman Sam. They don’t really sound like each other.
