Ok, I'm selling my camera and hiring an editor
anyone mind reviewing and critiquing mine, though it's way late? ruclips.net/video/OVHVi9n5S7Y/видео.html
@@seankauffman6303 That's a dumb move.
This was so awesome to be apart of! I made the top 10% but didn’t have the time to participate in the second round due to two scheduled filming already book. This edit was cool to watch, and I learned so much!! Great stuff!!
I like how humble Parker Wallbeck is. He straight up says that some of the people are better editors than him. Much respect for that. He hasn't let ego stop him from building the best video production team that he can.
Exactly...he really is amazing, I must say. Hasn’t let success and money get to him and I am learning so much from his lessons. Truly impressed by this guy and I don’t say this lightly
Yoo the reveal that one of the contest winners edited this was amazing, my jaw dropped. Parker spoke to us from the past. Excellent work
the number one rule of editing for Parker is using the one song that's in every single video
i really want to find a song that has the same vibe it sounds really good
This song is awesome, no need for another song, it really gives the feel that is Parker’s video
Didn't expect this at the end, congrats on being hired. I've noticed one thing right away in this video is the quality of titles is off, I can pixels in text. Good luck on avoiding this issue.
Awesome job! Loved this edit, my only feedback was I found the full time filmmaker logo transition was used a bit excessively! Great transition but I personally got sick of seeing it too many times, so perhaps use it a little more sparingly! :)
Agreed
Agreeeeeeeeeed
same
What a fantastic job by all of the peeps who contributed. I think first order of business for the new Mr Parker is now to make a tutorial on how he made those gorgeous on-screen texts😂 . The animation is spot on, and the effects are excellent 🙏 Thank you Partker for another fantastic content, you NEVER EVER dissapoint
13:35 man thats rack focus is creative. Great job. Congratulations to all editors
Thanks for creating and sharing this video. Currently looking for a video editor, so this video is very helpful and timely.

Iam a professional editor you contact me.. For any kinds of video requirement
Heck yeah! Big congrats to Parker Eastman. Well done sir!
Great job Parker Eastmond! What an incredible, face-melting edit.
This is so great! Getting the community involved! I loved the last one! It looked so clean and profesh! Congrats🎈
Congrats to all the top editors this was a fun competition you all are so talented can't wait to see more of the amazing content you produce
This is the best video I've seen this month on RUclips. Congratulations on your amazing work Parker, you're the man.
BEST edited FTF video I've seen so far! Love the transitions and titles! Amazing to find out it was edited by the winner of the competition. I'd LOVE to see the full four 9/10 videos, back to back. Any chance we could see those in full?
Wow! Plot twist! I actually noticed something was different with this video. Big props to the editor. So much inspiration from this video.
From a subscriber’s standpoint I would say this video was amazing and in accord with your work.
Your videos are always so helpful. I like you identifying the 10-second rule, it's something that quasi occurred to me but I never had a name and a definitive time frame for it. Thanks a lot.
Thanks Parker W. for giving me a chance to edit up against the big guys! I learned a lot along the way. By the time I enter the field full time my editing skills should definitely improve! I’m excited to see what’s next within the FTF course. I’d love to see how these guys make their animations-I assume they have a folder with their ready made templates from previous projects. Thanks again!
Love this! Can you make this a regular thing? It'll be great to have more of these community edit challenges and you provide insight on things to improve on and what you like etc. Thanks, Sean.
this was such a great video!
I'm really pumped up to work on my editing skills from this!
This was very helpful thank you!
Would love to see a full tutorial on how to edit like the 9’s :)
If this has taught me one thing it’s not to doubt my own ability and have more confidence in myself. I wouldn’t have been in the top 9’s but I think I would have been a hell of a lot closer than I thought. I’ve learned so much watching this and really appreciate the transparency. Well done to all 🙌💪🏼
I learnt so much from this review. Congratulations, Parker! 🎉
I want tutorials and tips from the people doing these amazing graphics.
I second this! Whole time I'm like HOW?!?
after watching, i agree with 100% of the critique. Any way we can do another one of these editing trials. Id love to take a crack at it.
One of the best video editing videos on RUclips..... thanks
I learned a lot from watching you critique these guys. Thanks for the tips... gonna try and incorporate some of them in my videos! 🤙
Just understanding the 10 sec rule will help me improve sooooo much. Thanks Parker.
19:20 these white transitions are not necessarily considered any good for me as I often watch videos in nighttime, and because of them I knew from the beginning something was off (or should I rather say "new").
Great video as always. If it's distorting audibly but the software's vumeter doesn't CLIP it's not the edit, it's your setup.
I went to film school, Parker, you are putting them to shame. Amazing the value this channel provides.
This was really helpful to see what things jumped out at you for the right and wrong reasons within the context of the edit. You should do something like again, even if it's not for an open position.
To whoever who edited this!
I LOVE THAT FTF TRANSITION
I watch this channel every once in awhile but if I see more videos like this. I will be back for more!!!! Phenomenal video!!!
Very nice and congrats to Parker Eastmond. Is there any way we (beginners, amateurs and hobbyists) can get the raw video to practice?
Learning two different things in one vid. Extremely helpful.
Thanks...
Congratulations🎉 for the new editor ;)
Hey. i am a FTF Student and i love to watch your videos.. i am also a sound engineer and with all respect i want to assure you that at 16:04 the audio is not clipping at all.. if he is below 0.0 on a Program Peak Meter (which is also the case in Premiere Pro) there is no distortion. Infact he did a great job on limiting this to its fullest potential.. just something to be aware of.. keep up the good work guys. Love your Content
I see what you are saying.. good for clearing this 😬 it was just not hearable on this particular section of the uplaoad. (Probably because this video was edited by the one who was in cause? 🤔🙈)
Greetings from Germany
Ive been using FCPX off and on for a few years, you know for family videos, and in no way am I a pro, I was basically watching to hear the critiques and learn how I can improve myself.
Nice edits too, Hope you find the right editor for your vids. 😎
The fIrst nine for me is a no he spelled drew brees wrong all it takes is a simple search to see how his name is spelled
I'd love to see the full final video of the 8s and 9s.
This was super helpful Parker!! Appreciate the effort you put into your videos! 🙏🏽
I really appreciate this video on so many different levels
This happened when I took a few week's off of being on social media!!! 😭
Don't give up though!
Thanks guys!
Awesome video, man. Thanks for the tips. 💯
Nice video! However you did not consider the working hours per minute of finished video ratio. Since time is money, what really differentiates a pro from a beginner is the efficiency, the ability to give the best for the budget.
Awesome information! Thanks for all the great content
Thank I really enjoyed the concept of seeing your judgement on what you considered a good edit.
Got some good ideas from this. Would love to see more of this.
This is a really damn solid video that really provides a lot of tips highlights plenty of things that we could all probably be at least a little better at lol 👍
cool ! he deserve the place
Would be fun if you would do more of these. Upload footage for us to edit and you rate it.
Man a super good and allround editor would be very powerful. If you have absolutely everything down you'd be an insanely valuable member or person to commission. Also the edit on this video was super clean, very good. Most people could make their vids a 7.5+ if they did this stuff for their own videos and made the philosophy (like no fluff) a part of making the videos.
Mindblown, is it a must to use your own motion graphics? Because the amount of work is incredible
this is so dope was watching in suspense wondering what the top person had to offer
Love these sorts of videos. Loads of fantastic tips for new editors!
Very nice stuff. Nice work Fromm all the competitioner
This is my favourite tutorial all time Thank you for this, Lot of learning in this video. Thanx
Really nice insight, would love to see more of these editing breakdowns! ✌️
As an editor, this was extremely useful, learnt a lot.
Did the 9's make it to 9 because of the editing or the motion graphics? Seems to me that if you wanna be a good editor, be a good motion designer.
i wonder the same..
throwing templates on it like crazy...even the 9nes had broll ontop of important scenes..respect for the effort anyways.
When you don't feel the 20 minutes pass with ftf. We need more content from Parker.
Oh my God the first 9 you played!!!
I always get your ad before your vids
I still edit my vids with PowerPoint and Movie Maker😂
That was really helpful.. THANK YOU !
Dope video! The pointers shared here definitely provided perspective on my own edits. Thanks a lot.
15:01 does anyone happen to know what font that is?
Also, I really liked the edit of this video, definitely fits the style of your channel!
Edit: In case someone else is looking for the font, I think it's Prohibition, or Jersey M54 (thanks WahturBug).
Looks like Jersey M54?
@@42papyrus Thanks, I looked it up and it looks like it, but I think the font he used is Prohibition.
@@ThomasS17 right on. I haven't looked it up but fair to assume prohibition is a little bit slimmer? Either way kudos to the editor, going with a Collegiate style font seems like a no-brainer but it's so easy to just use one of your go tos... in this case taking the extra time to find the right font really paid off. It's the subtleties that separate. 🙂
What monitor are you using now ?
Great insights in here!
il never forget wallball in guitar class this dude had a cannon for an arm lol
Again so many golden nuggets!!
Best filmmaker teacher ever. I wish I could afford your course
As far as color grading goes, the best thing anyone can do when coloring is to get color accurate monitors and calibrate them. If you don’t have a monitor capable of accurately reproducing the image the way it was captured in camera, you really shouldn’t be trying to color anything at all…
The best thing I did was invest in a high quality 4k color accurate 10-bit monitor capable of accurately showing 10-bit footage.
If you’re working from a monitor that isn’t accurate/calibrated you literally have no idea what’s actually happening to the image as you’re “grading” and it will show when the image is watched on other monitors/screens.
Damn this video...so much win. I ll take credit for asking in the last video if we would see the edits 😅
1) I LOVE the 10 second rule. I will be using that
2) Where the heck do some of these people find these animations? Does anyone recognize some of those. I d love to buy them
3) Does anyone recognize some of those cool title plugins used?
Hey packer. I am a cinematographer from cameroon, africa. And probably your biggest fan. I'll love to work with you. Even if as an intern... You are amazing. The entire crew
heyy can you make a tutorial on how to make those videos where they show vfx breakdown of a movie scene with those layer by layer wipe transaction
Very helpful videos for being aware of editing mistakes
Very cool video! I want to become a better editor so this video was very helpful. Did some of the editors buy templates for the intro or did they actually make them them self?
Sick video. Respect 👌
What i learned is to use my left arm more. Thx
Ballparking, for your 8+ rated editors, what are their market rates (part-time hourly bill rate and full-time annual salary)?
This video was super inspirational
Ok.. Now I feel that I should have also submitted my edit. Coz after seeing your marking scheme I would have easily made it till 8😭
I learned how to throw a football, also I should have entered this. Glad for the video on the applicants, a cool insight.
nice one i love the twist at the end
This was too awesome, Parker.
You are quite similar to my boss. I like it. I really enjoy your videos and they helped me a lot. Thank you so much for your great tips and tutorials
Wow really good video! Really interesting!
I I’m a student filmmaker, Big thanks 🙏
Which software was used for the last editor`s video? Is it Premiere or does it all came out from After effects? Thank you in advance :)
A lot to learn here, Awesome content
I’m not a filmmaker but I becoming one! I like this stuff
love you Sir
Hey Parker, was offline for a long time. Could I just get the footage now to edit and try out for myself?
Next time you hire, please use Google Drive or something of the sort, any other service took me almost four hours to download, then it lagged my computer, and I had to delete it, which took me another three hours.
I love your Videos it is very nice Thanks for you
What did you charge to do the quarterback video?? If you it's ok to share or a roundabout figure
Hello parker walbeck I just heard about this a year later ,too late I know hhh.i was hoping to see if I could get the footage that you sent to the applicants so I can make my own edit to grow my portfolio 😅😅 it would mean the world to me 🙏
I love this video; I have a question was anyone able to submit using DaVinci Resolve. I am working on my editing skills, and this should be done more to show the mistakes the new editors are making. Yes, all editor jobs could be looking for different things, but there is a base standard that should be met. I also know coloring and audio are the weakest right now.
Congrats!
