Drill Spikes, the actual underrated Weapon there IS the VIndicator, because most people do the salvage camp very late and do not care much anymore for Very Rare Weapons.
Video Idea for you: "Why you should to the Salvage Contracts with listed Rewards and maybe Quick Tutorial and some other tips (Farming the First Shell Crab, shoot of container, loot it, run away without killig it. Pristine Bellowback Sac, combine that with other quest, like the main quest diving mask crafting).
Piercing Sharpshot Bow is a good pick.... but we need to talk. Arrmor Piercing Ammo does indead inreased damage vs when hitting Armor ("Bleedthrough damage" to the" Core Machine Health"). It does btw, less damage TO the Armor Plate. Strikethrough has the addede Bonus to Pierce Human, Small and Medium Machine (not 100% sure on heavies and it´s late to test).
What it does NOT is allowing you to hit a Weakspot under the Armor, not a Data Nexus /Heart or the Head through a Helmet.You hit any Armor, you damage the Armor and get the Bleedtrhough damage to the Core Machine Damage. No Weakspot involved here, so no bonus (technically, the Armor Plate is a negative Weakspot).
Hitting armor on Human just has 100% Bleedthrough, but still no weakspot ( the head) bonus damage. I have not fund to circumnavigate the Helmet besides shooting it off and then using a second shot, this goes for Double/Triple Notch but that could be a timing thing.
Tripwires, like Elemental Rope, if we had better ways to control the enemy movement into them, and easier way to keep them in it, would greatly increase their value. And Elemental Rebalance.

Here’s an underrated weapon for ya: the Distant Thunder shredder gauntlet.
Coiled mine for elite crit hits and it’s da bomb, I tell ya!
Stronger than my AR (equally coiled, BTW) - takes less shredder disks to kill, say, a slautherspine.
shredder gauntlets are some of the absolute best weapons in the game and yet somehow they're STILL underrated! totally agree with this choice! The Distant Thunder is amazing
I don’t think it’s stronger than the ar due to the ar’s tear ability, however it is one of my most used weapons. I usually use it either after I freeze something and I’m out of weapon stamina (warriors bows with the spread shot weapon technique is about even with the last throw of the final chapter when it’s frozen or the first shot without it) or when I don’t have anything I shan’t to tear off with the ar (and by that point it’s usually dead anyways, I really want higher difficulties as a mod).
@@Bigcountry4415 I’m not doubting the AR (it’s on my weapon wheel) but my DT using advanced disks needs less such disks to kill a slaughterspine than my AR, especially from a distance. It’s also good at knockdown and boosts crit damage as well. The purge water thing is not too bad either since it stops elemental attacks. The combination of all of this really works for me.
@@GeertDelmulle well I’ve already said when I use advanced shredder gauntlets so I won’t harp on that however a quick fix to which shredder gauntlet I use, I actually use the final chapter (although I can see why you would use the distant thunder). My reasoning is 1 unlike with the dt with the fc and the ar you can get 100% crit chance so you either get 85% crit chance with 185% crit damage or 100% crit chance with 155% crit damage on the ar or the fc. 2 while I prefer the knockdown power perk on the dt the last argument is already so good at knockdown’s that if I want to knock someone down I either use that or the shock on the ar. 3 I value shock much more than purge water (due to stopping all attacks). Also I know that freezing then using damaging weapons is the fastest way to defeat everyone however I greatly value tearing of components which is one of the reasons I use the ar more (plus it’s a great way to fight multiple enemies and not be swarmed).
Well... Talking about another underated weapon I would call out the Warrior Bow. WB combined with Valors such as Chain Damage or literaly any Valor from the Warrior Skill Tree is basically a wonderful DPS for any difficulty.
Thats insane, i didnt know about the elite canister ropecaster.. I've never tried to attach the canisters on the ground or the ambient.. Im gonna try for sure.. I could've used on the apex predators against the thunderjaw..
I do have to agree on the all mother's blessing, I remember the plasma testing I did after watching your plasma video, and having never used tripcasters because, well... they're underwhelming as hell, was surprised how well that one worked with the plasma traps, in combination with the plasma canisters and spikes, even on ultra hard.
Also, long live the spinthorn, the original stagger mvp before the DLC existed (sorry vindicator, spinthorn was way more useful)
I actually use the spinthorn spikethrower until the last argument since the knockdown perk on it makes it a better knockdown weapon than the vindicator (I don’t use explosive spikes due to the lack of synergy with anything and how expensive the ammo is).
Yeah explosive ammo can be really resource intensive to craft. Sometimes it's just not worth it. Glad I'm not the only fan of the Spinthorn out there 😄
Corrosive blastling, Regala's bow and Elite ropecaster are the only purple weapons I use as my loadout consists of legendary weapons mostly.
once you get to a certain point in the game, definitely makes sense to use the Legendary weapons. they're just too good to pass up. Regalla's Bow and the Elite Ropecaster though are still great hold up pretty well against the legendary ones. I don't use blastslings too much myself. I'll have to give the Corrosive one a try
@@chazmatazzgames They are not super strong, but somewhat underrated --> Elemental Bombs, cheap, very high Build Up and the long long long long range of Blastslings bombs. Reminds we i wanted to time the stagger time of the different elementals and add the damage to the Blastsling initial damage. And with really really long range hit, enemies sometimes just stay in them. Acid is very nice, due also damaging armor, weakening the enemy if you fight afterwards (depends on Difficulty or how often you trigger it). And you should try the Skyhammer with 5elite frost as the freeze weapon, if you want to know more, ask tomorrow^^ 24 min to Midnight^^ so maybe give Madness74747 a tad more credit for that, and you can get it free, when having flying mount already, otherwise buy it, and i think it´s the first with acid (hence corrosive).
Cool vid! I myself am playing around with all kinds of weapons myself. But keeping track of everything is difficult ngl xd. Would love to improve in this game and in combat, but in can get overwhelming quick, especially horde fights.

HFW is a game of Many things, and the challenge is, ordering them for your self, think as a Hunter would, Goal/Problem, Tools i have and thus want to use.
1. You said group of enemies another source of the shock state.
Knockdown via Hunter Bow Weapon Technqiue, is stamina costly, but Light fall over in 1 shot, and medium 2, heavies in 3.
FInding those tools, active skills, passive skills which support those, or the right info is part of the game, and is like finding The big Bargain in the Bargain bin, so have fun wtih that, and with the limitation the game provides, because it also provides ample of tools.
4. What other things could help you deal with group of enemies ? Terrain so only a certain amount attacks you, or ranged attacks are blocked, or enemies have to walk a defined path to you.
5. Can you hinder the abilites of the enemy via quickly/easy removing specific component?
6. Have you ordered your Hunter´s Kit, and quickly access potions you need and the Smoke Bomb, savior of many lives. Aloy might be the Savior of Meridian, but Smoke Bomb is the Savior of Aloy.
7. Coil Setup, if you used a bunch of overdraw, but can´t get overdraw shot out due attacks of multiple enemies, it´s wasted space, change coils, or maybe consider a more agile weapon which works great in movement. You do not have to fight Waterwings with Boltblasters like i did, that´s only for the fun.
8. Can you thin out the herd with Ambush opening from stealth? Another tactic to be exploited, depending on gear/level etc.
Overall: Interaction Mechanic, so to speak, know how Dodge, Slide works, Know what Quick Draw is and be able to use it. Don´t forget Chain Reaction if they fit into your choice of weapons. Remember you can per mark component, and you should mark enemies as beginner. Know how Stealth works (enemy awareness level and when your Stealth buffs are active). Don´t forget valor surges.
The easiest coaching one could give you, if you record 1-2 fights, including gear/rough skilltree, difficulty setting and upload it on youtube and gives us the link, it really helps with the nuances. Example: Had one complain enemies where to though, besides some gear optimisation he made 2 mistakes: A) Switched around the componts hit to much, so he never progresssed the fight via removing one and b) First he tried to tear them off, got frustrated and then changed trying to destroy them, all that still with Problem a) present.
To A) you canßt usually focus one 1 component (due the way enemy is turned on you) but you should try to limit it as low as possible like 2/3 components.
To B) The Limit for Tearing and Destroying are different, so if you stop 1 point before tearing of and then use pure damage, you do "double the work".
Not a Week later he was playing Ultra Hard Arena ;-)

I am currently playing on hard with KBM with relatively good gear at the point of my current playthrough. But despite this I have to admit that I only use like 2 weapons in fights as well as failing to avoid some attacks, leaving me to use all of my med berries. I'm currently trying to work on it to resolve it, as I want to enter new game + with a better skill set. I'll be able to record a few fights if you want to take a look at them. Maybe there are more things I tend to miss
@@user-uz8oy5nf2e Yes of course i like to watch the videos, but you didn´t post any URL and clicking on your username channel, there were no videos too (maybe listed private or something?).
The "No Damage" Mindset does not really work in this game, its more a trade off, you get hit eventually and will be absolutely true for UH, because enemies are nearly simulatnously attacking you.
One reason people switch over to a LowHealth Playstyle, since you always heal up free to 25% of your Health (tip even for non LH; if you are at sub 25% heaklth and can afford to wait with healing, wait till the auto heal filled you up , it might save you a few berriest in a longr fight. Afford means not getting it so soon again, because you can´t be damage for time till the heal kicks in 2-6 seconds).

@@user-uz8oy5nf2e It´s easy to emphaize ease to use weapons, like the Hunter Bow (Can be used in any situation) and Sharpshot Bow (immediate visiable effect most of the time, and just 1 shot with fast travel speed).
Some other weapons are good for the Opening, can be used a certain oppertunity (ready them with quick swap) and sometimes space can be created to use them, same with weapon technique, the stagger of an element state at the start of it for example, can be easily used to ready a Boltblsater, a splitting spike throw or High Volley from a Hunter Bow, or Spreadshot from a Warrior Bow.
Also Quickdraw really helps for slower weapons. Quickdraw is the slowdonw and relative to the enemy quick drawing of the weapons after certain action, like falling, sliding, after a Melee Attack are the most common here.
And remember the Notebook is your friend. Good Hunting!
