Thank you so much for this video, it was super helpful with my understanding of intravenous dosage calculations, and setting up the equations correctly, in relation to units and millilitres. 😊
Hey, I loved your video and was so confused until I found you. Thanks!!! I put a problem I was struggling with to see if you could some of these problems for IV Infusing. some Hour ones cause i couldn't find one to explain Iv Hour problems. 1.Order: Infuse cefazolin 1 g in 50 mL over 30 minutes. What is the quantity to administer in? 2.. A nurse calculates a client's total fluid intake during a 4-hour period. The client consumes 2 cups of coffee, 8 oz of orange juice, 16 oz of water, 120 mL of broth, 1 cup of jello, and 4 oz. ice cream. The nurse should record how many mL of intake on the client’s record? (round the answer to the nearest whole number). Enter numeric value only. _______ mL Answer: 1680 or 1,680 10. A nurse is calculating intake and output for a client during a 12-hour period: 7am - 7pm. Calculate both using the following chart information: Enter numeric value only. Order: Levofloxacin 750mg IV x1 Now for septicemia infused for over 30 minutes. Each ready to hang bag contains Levofloxacin 750mg/100ml. Enter numeric value only. What rate would the nurse program the IV pump? _____mL/hr Answer: 200 4. A patient has an order for a continuous IV infusion of Regular insulin at 10 units per hour for a blood glucose level of 530 mg/dL. The insulin has a concentration of Regular insulin 200 units per 100 mL. How many milliliters per hour would the nurse infuse the insulin? Enter numeric value only. ____ mL/hr Answer: 5
Omgggggg I wish I saw this yesterday. We had OB and Peds final this morning. I was asking for MG calculation on our final exam review since yesterday. Dang! She is really good explaining this I wish I saw this.
Hello prof , so is this all learned during fundamentals in nursing ? Can you kindly explain why sooooo many nursing students say this is the part where most students are “ kicked out” of programs . They need to score 100% ? Can you share your experience . Feeling a bit worried here . Thank you 😊
Because the teachers don’t explain and teach as well as RUclips teachers and students don’t grasp the concept therefore flunk out unfortunately. RUclips is the best tutor imo.
If you got this down and are ready to try drip rates: Dosage Calculation (Drip Rates) ruclips.net/video/Ynp1mCYWWvc/видео.html
Thank you for making IV calculations understandable!!!
Thank you so much for this video! I got one more shot at my dose cal exam and you explained this better than my instructors!
