But very few are fully exposing not only what their revenue is, but also, what their expenses are, and therefore what their actual take home pay is. I have never shared all those details before - even in my various videos discussing revenue, and expenses - but today I finally am. Today I’m going to expose exactly what my take home pay was as a full-time content creator in 2023 from a business that generated over $500,000 in revenue! Let’s dive into it!

That's honestly amazing achievement, and thanks for providing your insight. Getting that first paycheck from RUclips is one of my favorite memories. I still remember it, there was lots of emotions involved. If it wasn't for my consistency and hard work (and a little bit of Famester of course), I probably wouldn't have made anything.
Katie! You have just explained profit breakdown AND taxes better than 99% of the accountants I have dealt with (there have been many...) over my career. The business owners I have worked with are so overwhelmed and confused by their numbers (often because of said accountants), so huge kudos to you for being so confident with financials. For me, when I look at a business owners future success, knowing this information at the level you do = long term success in any business.

This is the first piece of your content I've ever seen and I'm totally awestruck by your honesty, intelligence and prudence. Not to mention the clarity with which you presented the information. I make $0 and yet I create content pretty regularly, I don't even care anymore as I realized that this chasing profits obsession was forcing creativity and that made it more like a real job. I just want to have fun with content creation, that is more valuable to me than anything else. In my older age, I find more value in relaxation and fun than I do in turning a profit. I got off of the treadmill...

I have the same story. I stopped making videos regularly but I do know I should continue.
As someone who recently got monetized that’s a great approach. People can tell if you’re in it for the money and you’re making stuff just so that you can get views. People generally don’t like desperation like to watch they like to watch. I got monetized from a few videos, taking off and getting thousands of views. The algorithm will do its job and you do yours.

I completely resonate with what you said at the end there! just bought a 400 square ft house with a 2012 car and trying to travel as cheap as I can so I can go as often as possible. Huge respect for you choosing to live this way too, whenever I try to explain this to people a lot don't understand ❤

You nailed it. Forming a Corp doesn't necessarily save as there are additional costs and headaches, but it allows one to postpone income for down the road. You can also use Net Income After Tax from your biz financials to qualify for more financing. A sole proprietor generally writes their income down to to the floor, and thus most often times needs alternative financing. Great video and breakdown!

You have no idea how much I appreciate this video! As an online business owner myself I’be struggled with thinking I have to keep growing and making more revenue when I am sooo happy and blessed with my revenue atm. Maybe I’ll want to make more in the future, but I don’t need it to survive. The transparency and the creativity with breaking down the numbers was spot on.
