PSA: You DO NOT need to scale your business to this level as a Creator. I ENJOY running a business and growing it😁 You can make $3,000/mo and it can be just enough to make you happy. This video is simply me sharing how my business operates. You can operate your business as a creator differently, and that's okay 🧡🧡
Thanks for saying this - I had someone mention to me only making 4k a month as a content creator that I could make much more - but it’s been enough work making this amount and I don’t want to work 24/7.
Of all the RUclipsrs I've watch that give this kind of information, no one is as candid or explains it as well as you do. Your camera presence is definitely top 1%. I enjoy the content and the knowledge drop!
I really appreciate you breaking down your finances and being TRUTHFUL about it. Too many times I'll see business owners talk about starting a million dollar business but never mention the expenses. Great video! 💵
Wow!! Thank you so much! ☺️ I’m so grateful to get to do this as my job and I think being transparent helps make it easier for the next person to get started 👏🏽
GIRL! I Love how transparent this is. And selfishly, would love a video on hiring your first employee (not contractor) as I am getting ready to do so! :)
This video is a great way to get a glimpse into the life of a full-time content creator. The presenter is transparent about her earnings and expenses, which is refreshing to see. It's clear that she's passionate about her work and that she's dedicated to building a successful career in content creation.
Such helpful information. Thank you for sharing this. I love that you purposely give back each month to non-profit organizations and have made that a priority. God bless!! 🙏🏽 💛
💵thank you so much for demystifying this thought process and showing a bit behind the scenes. A limiting belief/fear I’m working through as I start my journey is “I don’t know what happens if the business becomes successful, I don’t have the tools” and this was immensely helpful
What a wonderful video! Thank you for sharing how you run your business finances. I really enjoy your way of delivering information without wasting our time. I am watching your channel more and more. I can only imagine how hard you are working. I come from the film industry and totally get what it takes to produce content. At least you have a team available as well. Keep up the great work. And again a big thank you!
Wow, this video is very helpful! It’s interesting to see how you break down expenses and manage finances. I appreciate your transparency about taxes and profits. This provides a realistic view of being a full-time content creator! 👏💼💰
Thank you for doing this video. My son is a big gamer and is always talking about doing youtube videos. I will definitely tell him about your channel. Thank you again and best wishes for future success. 💵
Yo I'm a CPA and also full time youtuber! Nice video. i was afraid when just seeing one month but love the fact you actually said that its not like this every month and spiky sometimes ! Good show
I appreciate your transparency in this video. I was wondering if you could make a pt 2 and talk about if the expenses you have are worth it, and what are your business goals.
Breaking down how you divide up the money is genius!! I am still a beginner and haven't made much money as a creator, but I am already thinking about how to break down the revenue once it gets here. I'm super diligent with my personal (9-5 income) so using this time to be a good steward so that God can trust me with the increase. In the meantime, learning in preparation for it. Thank you so much for the transparency!
Would love to see a breakdown of the contracted employees or freelancers you have for your business! I am guessing one is a video editor, social media manager? Curious to know!
I actually finished reading Profit First last month and as I was starting to watch the video I asked myself if you knew about it! Ahah! So this is very interesting! Thank you for sharing!💵
💵 Great video! Thanks for being so honest ❤️ Plus it really helps me to understand how to manage my side hustle finances. Also thank you for your video and workbook about 12 months for content creation, it helped me tremendously going back to it after several months without doing anything! Cheers from France 😘
Yay!! I’m so glad you found this and my resources helpful! ☺️ I love being able to do this as a career and am happy that I get to share this information with all of you!
I love your transparency! I see so many people using income/earning claims - "I made this in a month, and you can too or this is exactly how i did it" ALL it does is target a desperate consumer especially if it is paired with - And you can do it to! It actually is walking a very fine line of being illegal and against the FTC laws. Which can come with fines of $43k PER violation. YIKES. So I LOOOOOVE your transparency !
That's honestly amazing achievement, and thanks for providing your insight. Getting that first paycheck from RUclips is one of my favorite memories. I still remember it, there was lots of emotions involved. If it wasn't for my consistency and hard work (and a little bit of Famester of course), I probably wouldn't have made anything.
Thank you so much! ☺️ I’m so glad you found this helpful! It’s a crazy feeling getting that first paycheck from RUclips or a brand deal! I’m so grateful to do this as my job and appreciate all the support from all of you! 🧡
Thank you for sharing this info! 💵 (Do you have a vudeo that discusses where full time creators research info on benefits like health insurance for themselves? Thanks!)
Hi! I don’t have a video on this currently, but it will all depend on where you live. Some people in the US choose to use the health care market place or you could look at individual companies for plans! I hope this helps🧡
Hi Millie! Thanks for the in-depth video. Would you mind sharing in the comments or another video how you go about paying for health insurance and retirement? Is that distributed somewhere in expenses?
Hi!! This is a great question! It all depends on where you live and what’s available to you. In the US lots of creators use the Healthcare Marketplace, but you can also research and shop plans directly from Insurance companies.
Honestly taxes have been such a scare for me but it’s also all about mindset. When you live paycheck to paycheck with a practical 9-5 and tax refunds are your savior to then think about all the taxes paying forward for a business you’re wanting to bring back to get out of the 9-5 game some day is so scary but you’re overlooking the bigger picture of how much you have left to invest and how much more life you have left over. 😅 please make a video about money mindset if you have not already.
I love the idea of a money mindset video!! I’ll keep this in mind for sure! Taxes can be daunting, but once start doing them, it gets easier every time. You can also set aside MORE for taxes, just in case, and then anything not paid towards taxes is like your “refund.”
Do you not pay yourself a distribution from the profit number once a year or quarterly as well? As an S Corp, I know you can do that you have enough basis points, right? This helps save on tax expense.
HEY MILLIE ! I NEED YOUR RESPONSE.IF ONE IS HIRED TO DEVEOP CONTENT FOR A CHANNEL ON YT AND IF THE HIGEST AMOUNT OF THE CHANNEL MADE IS 46K AMONTH HOW MUCH SHOULD THE CONTENT CREATOR SHOT FOR A THEIR PAYMENT FOR DELIVERING THE CONTENT? I WANT TO TRY TO GET MY THOUGHTS TOGETHER BEFORE THE CHANNEL AND I HAVE THIS DISCUSSION.
Thank you for granting us Exceptional insights! 💵💵Question: On the page listing 5 accounts, you have a separate account (OWN) in which 20% goes to owner’s pay. Later when you utilize the pie chart to break down the OPEX account, you show $20k in payroll with a portion paid to you. Is this payroll income different from the funds set aside in the OWN account?
Yes, 20% of income goes to the OWN account. The pie chart explains all Expenses Paid (not just the OPEX account payments). Like payroll is an expense, but right now it gets taken out of the OWN account because 2/3 of the employees are owners so we just have all of Payroll come out of that account. We will likely switch it in the future so that JUST me and my husband get paid from OWN and our other employee gets paid from OPEX, but we just haven't changed that yet. Did that answer your question? 🤔

So the pie chart that breaks down Expenses Paid is just breaking down Expenses. It is not breaking down the OPEX account payments. MOST expenses come out of OPEX but not all. Like payroll is an expense, but right now it gets taken out of the OWN account because 2/3 of the employees are owners so we just have all of Payroll come out of that account. The expenses sound crazy… but I’m hoping to someday get monetized in youtube.. I’m just curious, as an employee with net income of 8k/month net, is it worth it to give up the job to be a full content creator?
To me, it's absolutely worth it because I LOVE what I do🧡 I LOVE creating content, teaching AND running a business. With the money my business makes, I COULD be paying myself more but I just don't NEED more. It's just enough to pay for bills, groceries, the gym and coffee runs and I'm happy with that 🤗
Profit doesn't have to be used paid to yourself! I mean, you absolutely can but there's other ways to use the Profit account. Like we'll typically use any money in there at the end of the year to reinvest back into the business (upgrade gear, run ads, etc.) or invest in our retirement.

Some people hate it, but it's a MUST for so many people to see who are interested in going on this journey!! 🙌🏽
When you do the affiliate link/program do you charge the brand for the review?
Nope! With affiliates, I simply talk about it because I love it and the form of payment is the commission made on sales from followers
Just the info I need. It's so hard to figure out all this. The thumbnail doesn't do the content justice.
Thank you 🥹 honestly I'm happy to take any thumbnail ideas you have! I agree and feel like the thumbnail could be "more" somehow!
