I cannot find a link to the coconut wax you mentioned that was beginner friendly. I'm just starting a candle business and I am getting overwhelmed to be honest. I have most things I need, but still a working progress, I am going to start to sell on Etsy, but there is so much competition there. but I'm sure there is enough for all of us. anyways if you don't mind sharing that wax info I would appreciate it. Thanks for your video, I learned the FO measurements using the calculator you recommended.. thanks I was having a hard time with the other version I was learning which was the mathematical way of getting measurements... that calculator is going to save me a lot of time.... thanks again!
Thank you very much! Was very helpful! So just to be clear, if I’m using a 10oz candle vessel, Would the fragrance load be 1oz? And I love Makesy also!😍
Yes, I have been testing at 10% fl as of recent with 3 different waxes. I feel like 10% is a good fl to test at, but do your own research and testing. Certain soy waxes don’t need as much. Quick question, how to figure your fill weight?
So I'm not a candle maker. I just wanted to give out gifts for Valentines Day, but I wanted to not break my pocket book either. So I bought a kit that came with everything to make 12 4 oz candles. The only thing I didn't use in the kit was the dye and the essential oils. I bought fragrance oil from Maksey. I also got rosebuds/flakes from them too because I wanted to put them on top of the candles. I made my candles on Sunday, and then an emergency happened, so I didn't get to add rose flakes until this morning. Will that affect my Hot Throw?
BTW thank you SO MUCH for your videos. You don't know how easy you made this process for me by watching your videos. Again, I'm not a candle maker and don't aspire to be one. Honey, this is not my ministry 😅
I’ve been testing and doing 10% FO load as well but I’m not getting a good hot or cold through. I’m wondering if it’s the oil (candle science) or did I not let it cure it long enough?? Do you always cure for 2 weeks and what temp do you add FO and pour at? I’m using coco apricot. I’ve been adding FO at around 210 and pouring around 200. Thank you so much for always explaining things so well!!

Those wax calculators are annoying, I do the same method as you its simple with 10% method. Plus I get little over pour so my candles are guaranteed 12 oz etc.
@@elisamoore6780 Hi, Get the total volume that the calculator on crafty base provides. THEN, Divide that number by however many oils you are using in your Fragrance oil mix. For example, "If you're using 8 ounce vessel, with 10% FO, then the wax amount will be 6.25 ounce, your FO total for that ONE vessel will be 0.63 ounces, and you total product weight will be 6.88 ounces. NOW, you want to divide the FO (0.63 ounces) into however many oils you want use. This example is assuming you will be using equal amounts of each oil. SO, You'll be spitting 2 oils into 0.315 ounces (if your scale screen only has space for 2 digits after the decimal then 0.31 ounces) for each oil which will make the total of the 0.63 ounces you arrived at from the crafty base calculator. You'd do the same process for 3 oils: 0.63 ounces / 3 = 0.21 ounces for each of the 3 oils you are using." EDIT: This can be done in grams as well: For example, "If you're using an 8 ounce = 226.80 grams vessel, with 10% FO, then the wax amount will be 177.32 grams, your FO total for that ONE vessel will be 17.73 grams, and you total product weight will be 195.05 grams. You'd do the same process for 3 oils: 17.73 grams / 3 = 5.91 grams for each of the 3 oils you are using." I hope this helps you!! Happy candle making!
