Interesting how the Executive/Owner quarters on the top deck have the curtains drawn on Live O. Many years ago we transited the Suez Canal in the Navy going from the Indian Ocean to Haifa as our first port o' call. This was in the 80's where there was a tiny bit of tension with Iran but even still since we were not on a combat ship, we were all a little nervous making that long passage through sketchy territories.
Luv that I found this channel again. I have limited time, and like find my channel easily.

Just to get the idea of how to become a superyacht owner. Lars Windhorst founded his first company under the name of his father at the age of 16. He made 50m revenues in his first year of operation and became a posterchild wunderkind for then German chancellor Helmut Kohl. That's where he got international connections from.
I thought that was him . Traveling with kohl to China. Etc.
Doesn't sound so great what he has become.
Yes cheque books do still exist --- some countries they are used slightly differently -- less seen in UK, France they are still quite common - and cheques are still used by business, property transactions, governments oddly and lawyers ... clear as mud ....
I still use checks...
Add insurance company payouts to the list. They're happy if the check is lost in the mail.
France still uses cheques for some weird reason.

I do have a checking account, yes. Plus I like the black hulled superyacht you featured and agree that it appears classic and modern at the same time. From the top I felt the front deck appeared under utilized. Los Angeles
Some people still write checks. Mostly older folk I suppose. If you do, be mindful of check washing thefts. When you write a check, always use a pen such as the Uni-ball 207 Signa Gel Pen. The ink is fraud proof, archival quality, and immune to fading, and water. They’re also manufactured in Japan. I use a .7 medium tip.
You must be American. In most of the world, cheques are defunct.
@@jjaus I write very few. Maybe 1 or 2 a year. Usually for car registration by mail, as they charge an absurd fee to pay electronically. It’s usually the older people who still use checks.
@@GNX157 I don't think we can (Australia). If you won't use online, you can still go to the post office. Ditto taxes, household bills etc. Most of our work is local government and they pay direct deposit. So much easier. All our invoices and reminders are electronic as well.

All these billionaires should come together, figure out this nuclear fusion power , patent the heck out of it and sell to all military via multiple century long contracts. I could start a go-fund-me to purchase the yacht that is on sale for $30M under its value. But I would have to sell my paddle boat, Knot-A-Yacht. My dog really likes Knot-A-Yacht, especially when we chase geese across the lake. I am sure that Charlie Barker would vote no and refuse to remain as my first mate.
If someone else wants to go for it, I could chip in enough for a bag of dog food for the first mate.

Brings me to a question, what is the lifespan of yachts like this when they become dated, inefficient to operate when compared to say a new build, or new updated model? I live near the great lakes and the graveyards for boats are amazing storybooks of the past and the heaps of long past, burnt, piles of money is fascinating to wonder.
As one who traveled an all too common path of the "Perfect" boat that led to bigger bigger and bigger over some decades to smaller, smaller and smaller of today. Personally, wonderful, memorable times I'm happy to have been able to have but don't miss it one bit. Lot of work. I'm lucky to know my old babies are still in good hands and making fun times. But the best boat of all, is someone else's HAHA! I was him for many!
I hope you changed all 4 shocks and not just the ones on the damaged side, 50k shocks on a heavy beast like that are going to have done some work

The transition to the afterdeck on Liva O does look strong strange. I don't like the design and color of that yacht.

my childrens schools accept ONLY checks when paying for field trips sooooooooooooooo... and I still don't agree with the seizure of the yachts. The sancions are too vague and, in my opinion, are used as too broad of a blanket to earmark finger pointing and settling of debts (grudges).

Checks are mostly a US thing now, not widely used in Norway as an example since the 1980’s
Horrible design and color of the yacht. Looks like a motel on a ship with all those motel-like doors and windows. There are many far better looking yachts than this.
So the US and Ukraine are now excluded as Aggresor Countries. Crimea was always part of Russia and were illegally "gifted" to Ukraine while it was a state of the USSR.
Liva O is ugly to me, the only thing remotely classic in her design might be her superstructure but the hull shape is gross. A truly beautiful yacht is the 92m Nahlin who I was admiring just a few days ago here in Fethiye.

I think Liva O is bloody awful. That long bow with the swimming pool is out of property and looks like a stuck on afterthought. And the long nose, or bow is plain. Seems a lot of wasted space and again dull and disproportionate. The rest doesn’t exactly scream design excellence either. Plain, plain, plain. But just like something else, we all have opinion. Innit. 😀

Ukraine did not secede. The vote you refer to was done after Russian irregular forces entered Crimea and took over. The vote's outcome is highly dubious, similar to the recent general election in Russia.
