HELL YEAH! MY SWING IS GETTING THEIR! ITS GETTING INTO ALL THE CORRECT POSITIONS AND CORRECT POSTURE!!! LESS GOO BOISS IM MAKING PROGRESSSS. Ive got the back foot and the lower body working right now.
His swing isn’t much different than others, he just explains it differently. A lot of coaches do a TERRIBLE job of explaining to what they mean by “swinging down” on it, and they fail to realize everyone interprets information differently so that’s when you get people out there chopping wood and ruining their swing
John Olerud had a real nice swing... Albert Pujols has this flat zone swing Paul Molitor.. Donaldson really breaks it down and i think it was homerun 20 or 21 was high inside.. crushed it.
Ayyy!!! Ive realized that i need to twist my hip ANDDD LEG into my swing. there are 3 things you can twist; The hip, the leg, and the foot. The foot alone = Squshing the bug The hip alone = The joint in the leg hurting around the hip The leg alone = probably something else For me i twist my hip and leg into it. If you watch his slow motion swing he does too. The foot is a byproduct of the hip and leg twisting. Had to watch a few videos for 2 hours to realize that, but im good for now...
Im sad because ive injured myself and haven't been able to practice for 2 weeks. MY swing has gone to dogshit so its gonna be fun spending another month fixing it.
Thanks for the joshdonaldson front view swing! I'm realizing that i may be getting my elbow so far inside with correct sequence and mechanics because im not fully rotating. Turns out it was the lower body.
Im still stuck on fixing the backelbow. My (outer elbow) arm pops when i turn my wrist past half way (Already been to the doctor. They said it should be fine, but i don't think it is for hitting) and so when the barrel wips around from lag back my arm pops. My mind has made it a habit 200,000 swings later to suck in the elbow so that it gets palm up palm down without turning the wrist. Basically it turns the bat palmup palmdown with my elbow instead of my wrist, its like batdrag except the elbow doesnt get in front of my hand. 3:35 is where my elbow wants to pop. I'm still trying to fix it. turns out i have alot of muscle instabilities and weaknesses everywhere in my upperbody so im having to do physical therapy to fix that. I figure ill just get it to eventually lag back like that and if it pops and break thens i guess i know i had a good swing.
I have 4 coaches, i dont remember 3/4 of their names The names i call them in my head Coach 1: Mike Coach 2: Old Yeller Coach 3: Soul stealer - but with his eyes Coach 4: Some kids dad that involves himself like a coach.
After the load, the hands have to stay in front of the back elbow. As the back elbow comes down, the hands have to lead or you end up pulling the bat behind you. The hands have to be on time, but he wants you to drop the bat behind him first.
In a sense..‘each person has to “feel” it for themselves. They don’t have to do exactly what he does, hitters still have to get into particular positions consistently to be successful
More great stuff from Josh.

Swinging down is stupid, only do it if it works for you AND your actually swing up AND your swing is perfect
He actually explains what he does, a lot of guys think they do one thing, when you watch tape, they don’t do that at all

Olerud was amazing. He looked so relaxed at the plate, and the swing looked effortless. Almost never saw him get out.
I would make it to the mlb 100% guarantee if josh Donaldson would somehow teach me.
My 10 year old watched this about 100 times. He's trying to work on his swing.
Between Nelly Cruz and this man the Twins have a real braintrust in the clubhouse for batting.
Guy Black, twins going to break their own Home Run record.
and now cruz is a ray

I need a Ted talk of this
So where do the hands need to finish? Infront of the body, a little inside the body, outside the body? On a top middle pitch.
Amazing

Ayy, Cheer up!
Your gonna sprain your ucl in 2 3/4 weeks anyway...
Which means your gonna have plenty of time to work on fielding and hitting :)
I miss the 2016 jays

It took MONTHSS but i finally fixed it. TUrns out it was my hands getting to far back during the load..
worst look of donaldson was the short blond hair with the earring. best look was the mullet and no earring, just looked so good
🧢
J Money, yeah true. put a cap on and he it will work
Hes right. 0:28
I am searching for it.

What is the song at the beginning?
IDK but I want to know it
Truly phenomeno
Donaldson is dressed like he came out of a trailer park in this video XD
A lot of pop ups. But yeah, tell your coach “no”
So someone else doesn’t use the hands in his swing. So I’m not crazy
👍👍👍

I this a SNL skit?
because he doesn't pay attention to his hands....he has slight bat drag.... LOL.......
Can you show an example?

@@happy8kiddo I disagree, the best hitters clearly have the hips lead the hands.
The only person he can explain this to is himself
