Really I do not understand, how and why weren't there a profesional camera team recording this amazing and bestial metal show of the Best Metal band of the world called METALLICA? this is ver unforgiveable... thanks to the fans that would récord this jewel alice from Metallica!
This was back when only myself and about four others in my high school even knew who they were. I was the only guy in my high school who wore a Jean jacket with Metallica patches all over it. I used to collect rare Metallica albums back then. I still have my collection stored away somewhere... it’s composed of Different colored vinyl albums of Creeping Death & Jump in the Fire as well as picture discs of the first three albums and whiplash, bootleg concert recordings (including Cliff’s last show), interview picture discs, double LP’s, etc... all purchased back in the late 80s. I remember When AJFA came out, we had about 10-15 more students in the school that suddenly became fans. I knew things would never be the same from that point on. Once they hit the mainstream and became popular (pretty much from 1990 and on), I pretty much lost interest, as the nostalgia of being in that small exclusive club of fans was gone. But I still like to reminisce once in a while.
Especially considering they had their Metalhammer Fest gig professionally recorded in 1985 aswell as their 1983 Illinois show. I would have loved to see close ups and multiple camera angles of the band, including shots from behind the drum kit because the set up Lars had in the Lightning and Puppets era's were the best set-ups he ever had.
I seen em on this tour. Comments from friends still irk me when they say "I liked Load". You can like whatever you want but you just dont get Metallica unless seeing them on the Damage Inc tour. And this is from a musician's point of view.....and trying to convey your band to do innovative music.
@@offtherealm5438 you gotta keep in mind that not everyone was old enough or even born to have been able to see Metallica live in this era. I had just turned nine when this concert took place, plus I live in Australia 🇦🇺 and Metallica never even set foot in the Southern Hemisphere before 1989.
@russkate88 I meant musician friends that were my own age. Load had good songs. But that can't compare to me and my Army buddies being blown out of the fucking water on the MoP tour! And in a tiny concert hall at that. Life changing event for me....just trying to share my passion bro.
When you play like this for a while, it'll genuinely give you exactly that. But cmon, you've got one thing coming if you think their not on high quality cocain. 86' was their hay day for partying
@mrchallenges1news I think I've probably played creeping death, down picking to completion with no hesitation once. And only once. Other than that, I'll find myself alternate picking here and there to stop myself from straining. Once you begin to feel the strain in your hand, you're screwed. Gotta be relaxed as possible. But hey, even James throws in the odd alternate picking in certain phrases to compete with straining
@@williamdickson3409 they didn't do cocaine in the eighties contrary to what everyone believes. They only drank, but Lars and Kirk did cocaine in the mid nineties.

They were fast and awesome...Then I saw them in Dec '86 in Toronto and I thought someone slipped me some drugs, because it was like they were playing so much faster...Like a 33 rpm record turned up to 45 rpm lol...
I'm thinking it could have been a combination of 2 things that make sense to me. Cliff was like an older brother to look up to,, and they likely deferred to him. They all lost that, and James figured he needed to be that leader for the band after Cliff's loss, so he just took it to a new level. This was shortly after Cliff's death. After the childhood trauma, his dad leaving, his mom dying, this may have felt like a last straw kind of thing for him. His actions on the stage are pure rage and fury. I imagine he was hopped up on a lot of booze, and took a very aggressive and 'f it' attitude.
@@ktgo4424 That makes a lot of sense...I forgot to mention the Toronto show was with Jason Newstead, after Cliff died in that bus accident...They were all probably pissed and taking it out on stage...
@thequebee_0101 Are you kidding me? If you genuinely believe that it was only lars and kirk that was smashing cocain, you've got another thing coming 🤣
No, Kirk is down picking as well, he just has a smaller range of motion when he does it. Part of that is how they differ in holding their guitar picks. James will always be regarded as one of the best (THE best?) when it comes to down picking, but Kirk has been right there matching him note for note. Less precise, but still right there
