    One thing I have loved about our last 3 Rams is UConnect. You can unlock your truck with your phone as well as locking it, remote starting, putting perimeters on where it goes, limiting speed and checking location. You have to pay for it after a year but I feel it is worth it.
    Funny, we boon docked last weekend on a farm. We did well with our house battery. Your video helped me see the potential benefits of the Oupes units. Thanks!

    Coffee maker = power gobbler! I broke out my old stove top coffee maker that I used when I was van/truck camping and backpacking. It is an oldie that I got from Campmor years ago. Remember the old newsprint paper Campmor catalogs? Brewed my coffee on the propane range in my trailer the entire three weeks that I was at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument last winter. (no hookups).I have the 600iL solar package on my Keystone Cougar. Only had to run my Champion 4500 propane powered generator twice in the three weeks to top off my 270 AH Dragonfly lithium battery due to the rain coming in from the West Coast. Also, unplugging your TV when not in use saves power. When boondocking, I run my CPAP on a small Jackery solar power station and 100 W solar panel kit with a 12 volt converter made for my CPAP. Way less power usage on 12v than on 120v. Works like a dream and saves house battery. Creativity and flexibility are big factors when boondocking. Thanks for the great video. Love watching the little guys romp with the new puppy.

      I don't blame you for waiting. This stuff can get expensive quick! That's a big reason that so far we've used items that are easily moved. The Oupes, generators etc can just be moved from one rig to another. The big solar panel on the roof, not so much. It can be transferred but it takes some doing. I'd definitely recommend the 12v fridge. It's a must have for us moving forward! And, don't worry, our dogs get PLENTY of rest lol!

    Ahhh the B word! Braums!! Chicken fingers, gravy and fries with a side of candied hot fudge sundae. Miss them! I have a EcoFlow that I would like to at least run lights in our 337RLS. The Westinghouse 2200 doesn’t have a 230 connection so you are running 120 to RV. And you said you disconnected the converter? All Greek even though I am an electrical engineer…. Not versed in RV…

    • @RVUntethered
      @RVUntethered  Месяц назад +1

      Don't get me started on Braums! I could live off of that place! As far as your eco flow or any portable power unit/solar generator you can grab a 50amp (or 30 amp) adapter to bring it down to 110 household power and plug an extension cord straight into your ecoflow (or any power bank). At that point, you're only limited by the max output of your power bank. Using 110 is fine in our experience pending you're not running A/C. We'll often use the same adapter and a heavy duty 110 extension cord in the winter straight to the power pedestal just to avoid dealing with a stiff 50amp cable when the temps drop. If you need more power than a 110 breaker can handle, a bigger eco flow with a 30amp output works really well. We use a 30amp to 50amp adapter and run our entire rig off of our Oupes Mega 2. Granted, you're not going to run the A/C all day but with that setup you can easily handle multiple power suckers (fireplace, microwave, blow dryer, coffee pot) at the same time as long as you don't go over the max output on your power bank. There's a ton of ways to skin this cat. The reason we cut off the converter (we just cut the breaker to the converter itself) is so that our Oupes wasn't trying to charge our house battery. We let the solar panel on the roof take care of the house battery. If money is no object, there are some great companies that can automate all of this for you as well but it often requires the "Bob Barker Checkbook" to make that possible haha

    A few videos ago you commented on this stopper that you put on your spare tire hoist. We are having the same issue with our grand design 337 RLS. If you wouldn’t mind sharing what you bought that would be great and maybe where you bought it would also be helpful. Thank you, PS love watching your videos

      You bet! We aren’t affiliated with them or anything, but we met our buddy Brian at a rally and he built these to fix his on HIS 337. It has worked really well! I put his Etsy shop link below. You can select the Camper section and we have the standard size (I assume yours would be the standard as well, but you can take a look).
      We also have his hole closures on (in that same section), to keep mice from having such a gaping hole to get into, under there.

    You should download the Ram app on your phone. We can unlock our truck using it. We also can monitor mileage and MPG. It is great plus I don’t have to wait for the husband to dig his keys out of his pocket for me to get in the truck.

      Congrats on your new journey! 😃 Enjoy ALL of it! The build-up and prep, was pretty exciting (and stressful)!
      Short answer, we rely heavily on Starlink. Assuming you don’t stay in heavy tree coverage and extremely strong storms, it is pretty durable and great! We also have a couple of other back ups. The plan have changed quite a bit since we did it, so you may see what is out there (there are Facebook pages with resources too).
      The video below, is our most recent, breaking down the cost of each of our options, that we have used for 3 years, although some have increased slightly since the . Do check the comments as well though, as we got a lot of great options in there as well. Good luck! 😊

    • @RVUntethered
      @RVUntethered  27 дней назад

      We have had the Oupes 2 since April, I believe! No complaints whatsoever! They are a partner with us, but we did a LOT of research on the boondock forums, before we reached out to them. I do think that the 2 or higher is a little more beneficial, simply because it has the plug for your RV. We tested it back in the summer and ran our Rv air conditioner off of it and it would’ve ran for at least an hour. We expected it to kill it immediately but it has some power!
      I really don’t think you would be disappointed with it.
      Find what works best for you, but if you go with Oupes, make sure you use our discount code and get a few bucks off. They have some other deals running right now too. Good luck!

And just asking, how big is your on board slower charger? I did my solar charger a lot bigger than my solar panels, more room to get bigger. MORE POWER BABY

The price point was significantly smaller than some other larger brands. There are a lot of great personal reviews on boondock and RV forums.
      It has been a really nice tool for us!
