One thing I have loved about our last 3 Rams is UConnect. You can unlock your truck with your phone as well as locking it, remote starting, putting perimeters on where it goes, limiting speed and checking location. You have to pay for it after a year but I feel it is worth it. Funny, we boon docked last weekend on a farm. We did well with our house battery. Your video helped me see the potential benefits of the Oupes units. Thanks!
Find the best unit for you, but if you choose Oupes, make sure that you grab our discount code! We have two different ones, depending on the timing, due to their Black Friday promos right now.
We have just started doing a lot more boondocking. We purchased some portable solar to enhance our roof panels. We are always so happy you are so thorough with this we have learned a lot!

Cody and Angela thank y’all for the video and letting us tag along. The brush guard look good on the truck. But I’m not giving up hope to hear a Train horn again. Love seeing the pups running and having fun. Stay safe and happy travels 🚂
Hey guys 👋 😃, Love the show. Your probably my favorite family. Thank you for doing a good job educating me and entertaining me while doing so. Yay! Ang just your facial expression get me laughing. 😅 Love that. 🤭
Eventhough we are not full time yet, we plan to do a lot of boondocking when Mike retires. We do a lot of Harvest Hosts which lets us stretch our solar, lithium setups legs! It’s nice to have friends with property like that! Stay safe!!
Another fun video! 😀 I just ordered Oupes MAGA 1, I’m a widow and try to be ready for emergencies and I needed a Power station .. looked at many and when I saw you have Oupes I ordered one !!!! It will be here in a couple days !!! Hope I never need it but at least I’ll have something if I do !!! Thank you !! SAFE TRAVELS !!😊

Of course the keys were in the ignition and the spare set of keys inside the truck. The people inside got a great laugh about a cat locking the truck door on a CAT scale. Now I carry a door key in my wallet.
Oh goodness! The lithium battery was a big game changer. I think I need to do something with my inverter, but I had JUST changed it at the time, so I never did. Redodo has been a good brand for us (about half the cost of Battle Born), but hopefully you’ll find the best thing for you guys! It just adds up! ☺️
Awesome and entertaining video as usual. Such real and down to earth people. Giving away that power station just reinforces what I already knew. The last couple of segments have me curious about visiting Arkansas. We just spent a week at Huntington Beach south of Myrtle Beach. Also I am controlling my urge to get 2 little Daschunds. Thank you for the kind words! ☺️ Arkansas has a lot of wonderful gems. We get frustrated with our home state not really PUTTING it out there more. If you like nature, our favorite areas are Devils Den State Park, Petit Jean State Park (has been so long we don’t remember it but it’s very popular) and of course the Northern portion is stunning. We loved the Hawksbill Crag hike! Check out photos on that one! Beware of the dogs! 😆 They have personalities..I’ll give them that!

Coffee maker = power gobbler! I broke out my old stove top coffee maker that I used when I was van/truck camping and backpacking. It is an oldie that I got from Campmor years ago. Remember the old newsprint paper Campmor catalogs? Brewed my coffee on the propane range in my trailer the entire three weeks that I was at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument last winter. (no hookups).I have the 600iL solar package on my Keystone Cougar. Only had to run my Champion 4500 propane powered generator twice in the three weeks to top off my 270 AH Dragonfly lithium battery due to the rain coming in from the West Coast. Also, unplugging your TV when not in use saves power. When boondocking, I run my CPAP on a small Jackery solar power station and 100 W solar panel kit with a 12 volt converter made for my CPAP. Way less power usage on 12v than on 120v. Works like a dream and saves house battery. Creativity and flexibility are big factors when boondocking. Thanks for the great video. Love watching the little guys romp with the new puppy.
It sounds like you have your process figured out! We are hoping to have a process if we finally stop being chicken and try some BLM land. Ha! The dogs were SO tired when we left! They were complete dead way.
Been there with the dog Locking the truck. We stopped at a Loves and our old pup locked the doors with Lyla in the truck while I was getting gas. Thank God Nicole had her key with her when she went inside 😂
Oh man! We have been locked out at the boat ramp before..in the rain! But we got spoiled to the location of the locks, where it wasn’t a problem. It has happened THREE times now! 🤣
Cody and Angela, been watching your videos pretty steady now for about two/three months. Really appreciate the variety of topics and the educational and informational facets that you always include. Just started working on putting an inverter on our 2022 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS amd truly enjoyed this episode and the use of the portable power station by Oupa!! God bless and safe travels! 👍🏼🇺🇸
Learned some. We aren’t set up with solar or lithium in our rig. Next year we might be buying other rig so putting off spending money on this one. The next rig will have both solar n lithium. Plus a 12 volt refrigerator so we can run in going down the road. I bet the dogs slept well. lol. Getting ready for winter here in Florida is let’s see doing nothing. Haha. Jeff n Karen
I don't blame you for waiting. This stuff can get expensive quick! That's a big reason that so far we've used items that are easily moved. The Oupes, generators etc can just be moved from one rig to another. The big solar panel on the roof, not so much. It can be transferred but it takes some doing. I'd definitely recommend the 12v fridge. It's a must have for us moving forward! And, don't worry, our dogs get PLENTY of rest lol!
Your Boondocking challenge is how I live all the time in my motorhome. Add some more solar on the top of your Fifth Wheel and make sure they’re on tilt racks for November through February. It was a step-by-step for me, but I’m up to 2050 W of solar on the roofand 1200 amp hours of lithium batteries. I run my coach as I’m plugged in all the time. Thanks for the video.
I used low voltage landscape wire to make extension cords for Solar panels. I now have the ability to move portable panels around to find the sun to charge our Bluetti 200Max.
Charging your puppy and then plugging into trailer to charge your Redodo battery takes alot more power You are inverting to 110so you can convert back to 12 volt Get longer set of cables to run from portable solar Then top up your Oupes after
Great video, thanks for introducing me to the power stations. Wonder how long the mega 5 will last? Where did you get the truck guard if you don’t mind sharing?
Ha! Peer pressure! I have had good luck with Ranch Hand (as well as friends and family), so I stuck with what worked. I was nervous about black versus chrome though. My friend got black and I realized that it looked better than i expected! 😁
Great video on boondocking. I really enjoyed getting to meet yall!🎉 I've been out in the Ouachita national forest and just catching up on the channel. It would be helpful on your water usage as well. Once again great video.
It was nice to meet you too! We will bounce down there for a really quick trip in a couple weeks . Apparently we have a battery dead on one of our cameras down there, so we’ll fix that while we’re close. But I think we’ll have to visit back in March and get some work done.😄
Hey we use the deer whistles on our truck. We have used them on every truck and I’m not sure if they work or not… but we have never hit a deer, as we see lots of them up here. Need to get me one of the Opus Mega 2’s. Think that would be a great addition to a power plan. Great video, as usual. Safe travels
That’s a good idea! The Oupes is handy. We reached out to them last year due to the price point and because there are a lot of great reviews out on the internet. We tested the Mega 2 a while back and it would run an air conditioner for at least an hour. It’s not an end-all solution, but handy! 😊
Ahhh the B word! Braums!! Chicken fingers, gravy and fries with a side of candied hot fudge sundae. Miss them! I have a EcoFlow that I would like to at least run lights in our 337RLS. The Westinghouse 2200 doesn’t have a 230 connection so you are running 120 to RV. And you said you disconnected the converter? All Greek even though I am an electrical engineer…. Not versed in RV…
Don't get me started on Braums! I could live off of that place! As far as your eco flow or any portable power unit/solar generator you can grab a 50amp (or 30 amp) adapter to bring it down to 110 household power and plug an extension cord straight into your ecoflow (or any power bank). At that point, you're only limited by the max output of your power bank. Using 110 is fine in our experience pending you're not running A/C. We'll often use the same adapter and a heavy duty 110 extension cord in the winter straight to the power pedestal just to avoid dealing with a stiff 50amp cable when the temps drop. If you need more power than a 110 breaker can handle, a bigger eco flow with a 30amp output works really well. We use a 30amp to 50amp adapter and run our entire rig off of our Oupes Mega 2. Granted, you're not going to run the A/C all day but with that setup you can easily handle multiple power suckers (fireplace, microwave, blow dryer, coffee pot) at the same time as long as you don't go over the max output on your power bank. There's a ton of ways to skin this cat. The reason we cut off the converter (we just cut the breaker to the converter itself) is so that our Oupes wasn't trying to charge our house battery. We let the solar panel on the roof take care of the house battery. If money is no object, there are some great companies that can automate all of this for you as well but it often requires the "Bob Barker Checkbook" to make that possible haha
@@RVUntethered awesome thank you! That makes sense to me. I’ll be testing out the EcoFlow (bought for CPAP in case power outages) I start it up several times to “exercise” it. Going to the GD rally in Quartzsite In February. Plenty of time to see what it can do with the solar panels.. I do appreciate y’all!
Wonder what made those mounds in the opening shot with the Drone ? looks like it goes beyond the green field also ? weird ? Good Video.... P.S. you need more solar on the roof & another Battery...you would be pretty set..... Need more sewer hose...lol !
Isn’t that odd? We are familiar with the mounds on ground level and they are just little, nondescript mounds that you don’t really notice. We found it odd on camera too! It is all natural!
A few videos ago you commented on this stopper that you put on your spare tire hoist. We are having the same issue with our grand design 337 RLS. If you wouldn’t mind sharing what you bought that would be great and maybe where you bought it would also be helpful. Thank you, PS love watching your videos
You bet! We aren’t affiliated with them or anything, but we met our buddy Brian at a rally and he built these to fix his on HIS 337. It has worked really well! I put his Etsy shop link below. You can select the Camper section and we have the standard size (I assume yours would be the standard as well, but you can take a look). We also have his hole closures on (in that same section), to keep mice from having such a gaping hole to get into, under there. www.etsy.com/shop/LastPennyWorkshop
We had a drawing at our impromptu meet up. We were excited to test the solar panel and they asked us to try the Mega1 with it, since they often come in a combo package. So they gave us permission to pass it along. 😊
@@chadkoller7809Definitely! Find the right one for you, but we love the Mega2 because it has the 30A outlet and we have ran our air conditioner off of it! It wouldn’t do that long, but it has the power. If you choose to go with Oupes, just make sure that you grab our discount code for some savings. We have one in the description and comments to go along with their Black Friday sales and a separate one outside of those dates.
@@chadkoller7809Thanks man! I think I saw you guys with Steve and Kate recently? Which makes sense with your line of work. Hopefully we’ll get to cross paths again!
Way back when the wife and i first stumbled upon your videos the wife and i loved and looked forward to seeing your videos and couldn't wait for a new video to come out. Ang was hilarious and Cody, well he was Cody. The camping adventures, the traveling and the sightseeing. Now it's becoming commercial and restaurant reviews. Please for the love of God go back to how it used to be and make camping great again.
Nothing wrong with doing a boondocking power experiment under a control situation. You know your limits and have identified ways to conserve if need be.
We aren’t great about opening our windows during the day. We didn’t realize it at the time, but the lighting isn’t great. Sufficient for lighting but we just can’t film in there at all. So we now notice the floor plans with a lot of windows. 😊
I haven’t. It crossed my mind, but I think that it DOES have to be running and a switch under the dash, has to be flipped on. That may be worth trying when we’re running around anyways.
You should download the Ram app on your phone. We can unlock our truck using it. We also can monitor mileage and MPG. It is great plus I don’t have to wait for the husband to dig his keys out of his pocket for me to get in the truck.
Still really new to your channel. I love it!! Hubby and I are going for it and go full time. Timeline is March 2025. I do have a quick question for internet? Is there a video you have done or can you do one? I will still be working full time remotely so I will need good internet. Thank you in advance for the advice.😁
Congrats on your new journey! 😃 Enjoy ALL of it! The build-up and prep, was pretty exciting (and stressful)! Short answer, we rely heavily on Starlink. Assuming you don’t stay in heavy tree coverage and extremely strong storms, it is pretty durable and great! We also have a couple of other back ups. The plan have changed quite a bit since we did it, so you may see what is out there (there are Facebook pages with resources too). The video below, is our most recent, breaking down the cost of each of our options, that we have used for 3 years, although some have increased slightly since the . Do check the comments as well though, as we got a lot of great options in there as well. Good luck! 😊 FIRING the internet provider! Internet breakdown! We have had the Oupes 2 since April, I believe! No complaints whatsoever! They are a partner with us, but we did a LOT of research on the boondock forums, before we reached out to them. I do think that the 2 or higher is a little more beneficial, simply because it has the plug for your RV. We tested it back in the summer and ran our Rv air conditioner off of it and it would’ve ran for at least an hour. We expected it to kill it immediately but it has some power! I really don’t think you would be disappointed with it. Find what works best for you, but if you go with Oupes, make sure you use our discount code and get a few bucks off. They have some other deals running right now too. Good luck! bit.ly/3QXTfPr (Use our discount code for 5% off any mega 2 series products): UT5
I'm pretty sure they'll work with any panel that uses the same red/black connectors. They have a great Facebook page where people get really wild with these setups. Those folks seem to use all different kinds of panels
Well there, the old saying is, I would rather have it and not use it than needed and not have it, more power Baby. Just more power for the Hair dryer. And just asking, how big is your on board slower charger? I did my solar charger a lot bigger than my solar panels, more room to get bigger. MORE POWER BABY
😊Oupes is now a partner, so we do earn small commissions on sales through our codes. But we reached out to them last year, after researching the forums for a solar generator. The price point was significantly smaller than some other larger brands. There are a lot of great personal reviews on boondock and RV forums. It has been a really nice tool for us!

Sorry. At the beginning of the video I was briefly distracted by the Brinkley 3300 in the background! 😍
🤣
Your Boondocking challenge is how I live all the time in my motorhome. Add some more solar on the top of your Fifth Wheel and make sure they’re on tilt racks for November through February. It was a step-by-step for me, but I’m up to 2050 W of solar on the roofand 1200 amp hours of lithium batteries. I run my coach as I’m plugged in all the time. Thanks for the video.
That’s pretty great!
@@RVUntethered😊
I used low voltage landscape wire to make extension cords for Solar panels. I now have the ability to move portable panels around to find the sun to charge our Bluetti 200Max.
That’s a great idea!
Charging your puppy and then plugging into trailer to charge your Redodo battery takes alot more power
You are inverting to 110so you can convert back to 12 volt
Get longer set of cables to run from portable solar
Then top up your Oupes after
That’s a great idea!
Nothing beats Braums!!!!!!
Great video, thanks for introducing me to the power stations. Wonder how long the mega 5 will last? Where did you get the truck guard if you don’t mind sharing?
Our buddy Garrett ordered it for us, through the shop, but it is the Ranch Hand brand. I’ve ran them before and like it.
@ thank you
I was looking at the same brush guard. Guess I'll go get it now. Looks good.
Braums is the best!!
👆🤤🤤
Strap that Oupes to your drone and have it go get your tag for you. 😊
🤣🤣
Just go a new Chevy high country, and I am going to get the guard also asap.
Oh nice! Congrats!
Oupes drinking game!!
😆

Did you say GIVEAWAY? Very nice
We had a drawing at our impromptu meet up. We were excited to test the solar panel and they asked us to try the Mega1 with it, since they often come in a combo package. So they gave us permission to pass it along. 😊
@ I just look at them through your link and they seem reasonably price compared to other ones
@@RVUntethered awesome thank you and we love your channel.
Ang WAS hilarious? This is offensive! 🙋♀️🤣Kidding!
We hit the road and explore in Tuesday’s video! 😊
@@RVUntethered Thank you! Yes, Ang is hilarious. Isn't that the reason that you married her! lol
Nothing wrong with doing a boondocking power experiment under a control situation. You know your limits and have identified ways to conserve if need be.
Thanks! I am not sure if we will be able to do too much out West this year now, but when we do, I hope we go into BLM lands much more confidently. 😊
I never understood why people turn lights on during the day. That also includes Stick and bricks.
We aren’t great about opening our windows during the day. We didn’t realize it at the time, but the lighting isn’t great. Sufficient for lighting but we just can’t film in there at all. So we now notice the floor plans with a lot of windows. 😊
Ever use the 400 watt AC plug in the bed? My 24 has it & 220 amp alternator but I haven't tried it, thought I saw truck has to be running.
Admittedly, I haven’t messed with it too much, but I am starting to use it a bit more. It’s funny how you can get spoiled to these things. Ha!
What do you use to clean your solar panels?
I know there are cleaners for it, but we have just always used lukewarm water, classic Dawn dishwashing liquid and a clean sponge.
@ That’s great to hear I was worried Dawn would leave a film. Thank you that’s what we will try
Good luck! 😊
FIRING the internet provider! Internet breakdown! Full Time RV!

Do you still use your Oupes generator and enjoy it. I’m looking to get Oupes 2 with solar panel
Good luck!

Does the Oupes require there own solar panels or does other brands work also ?
I'm pretty sure they'll work with any panel that uses the same red/black connectors. They have a great Facebook page where people get really wild with these setups. Those folks seem to use all different kinds of panels
Well there, the old saying is, I would rather have it and not use it than needed and not have it, more power Baby. Just more power for the Hair dryer. And just asking, how big is your on board slower charger? I did my solar charger a lot bigger than my solar panels, more room to get bigger. MORE POWER BABY
Our solar charger is 50A and converter is rated for 60A. We have a lot of room to grow there too
Yes not my keys are anywhere inside the vehicle the locks won’t engage. Maybe a setting you can adjust
Hmm interesting! I’ll look in to that. I also need to get familiar with my app.
La Cucaracha horn for when y’all are on the way to eat Mexican food.
🙋♀️I like it! I told Cody that if it’s a fun horn, we can do it! 🤣 That way, it can only be used for good and not road rage. 😆
Cody, are you on oupes payroll?
😊Oupes is now a partner, so we do earn small commissions on sales through our codes. But we reached out to them last year, after researching the forums for a solar generator. The price point was significantly smaller than some other larger brands. There are a lot of great personal reviews on boondock and RV forums.
It has been a really nice tool for us!
So!! Ladies when was your last Mammogram? October was Breast Cancer awareness month. I went 4 months later than usual. 9/27/24 day before my daughter’s wedding. It was NOT good. Breast cancer has come to “visit” I start chemo 12/2. Please take the “girls” for a trip to visit the doctor. It can save your life! Angela have you gone for your mammogram?
☺️Thank you for putting this down here. Sorry to hear that you are taking that journey though.
Odd, I can’t lock the doors with my RAM keys inside.
That is odd. Even the door button?
