zones in Sonic CD are actually called "rounds", the word zones refers to acts in the game--the terms are omitted entirely for the names of the levels, though
As a Sonic CD OST nerd, all you need is some old drum loops from a 90s sample pack and the first bass sample from X-Static Goldmine turned into a soundfont aand it'd fit right in. One thing that i noticed really cemented this in my head as a possible cd song was the violin and saxophone. The way your melodies sing is truly amazing, and i hope you keep making more music like this in the future. Have a sub, you deserve it

I’m going to refrain from making the “‘blank blank zone ‘G’ mix - JP’” joke, but like, what really hit it home for me was the introduction of the sax. It’s got the grit and spunk to it, and it really *feels* like SCD at 1:25 Doesn’t help that Quartz Quadrant hits that exact note with the same sax, but it’s still really good! Sonic CD approved.
