Four English tourists find themselves stranded in the mysterious village of Karlsbad, a sinister and remote place with a deadly, dark legend. Their journey leads them to an abandoned castle where a nightmarish destiny awaits them: an evil in need of resurrection, a blood-craving beast known only as Count Dracula, Prince of Darkness (Christopher Lee, The Lord Of The Rings films, Wicker Man). Grew up watching these hammer films of Dracula with Sir Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.
I hope horror gets this treatment too. The first is my favorite vampire movie ever. Peter Cushing was awesome.

Truly the Gold Standard, for Hammer films. A Jolley good Adventure in Horror. Opens with Peter Cushing outfoxing Chris Lee, in a scene from Horrors of Dracula, and Features a Benedictine Monk, who Fells Dracula with a Bolt action Rifle and the element of running water. JB
I think, one bests Dracula movies by Hammer films, Horror of Dracula is a masterpiece and cult classic!

Hammer always did their films up good. This is one of the best.
I always laughed whenever the "damsel in distress" would just stand there and scream. Girl, I'd be booking it the heck outta there. 😂
LOL! Not when the damsel in distress is already under DRACULA's powerful hypnotic spell.
It's meant to be there for theatrical effect.
Just got this in the mail, I'm debating on waiting for scars of dracula to arrive before I watch it so I can do a back to back, but I also have count dracula and his vampire bride, then I have the ones I've already watched. Count dracula, horror of dracula, dracula a.d, satanic rites of dracula, taste the blood of dracula, and dracula has risen from the grave. Can't wait to watch those other ones if I get three replies saying I should watch those two I have right now I will, otherwise I'm waiting for scars to arrive.
Classic plot of a horror film that horror movies in the 70s and 80s used ( the beginning when the 4 persons has been warned about going to a particular location. I didnt know England had such good classic horror movies.

I’ve seen this movie. Great flick. It disappoints me that Christopher Lee didn’t have any dialogue in this film.
Peter Cushing not returning as Van Helsing was the only disappointment in my opinion.
@@johnbrennan4449 he would eventually return as Van Helsing in Dracula 1972 A.D. and The Satanic Rites of Dracula, both of which starred Christopher Lee.
@ Chris h: the narrators voice sounds like the priest / father actor’s voice from the movie. You can find this Blu-ray for 8 or 9 bux online. iTunes doesn’t have this downloaded.
Good hammer flicks to watch: Horror of Dracula, the 2nd movie in the 7 flick series here, Dracula has risen from the grave, and Scars of Dracula which stars Patrick Troughton the 3rd Dr. Who actor with Chris Lee. 😁 👏👏👏🇷🇴

I bought this movie from Shout! Factory on March the 3rd 2020. It’s June 19th 2020 and I STILL don’t have the damn Blu-Ray so I contacted them. They gave me some random bullshit reply that had nothing to do with “where’s my purchase!” 2 weeks later I did get a reply saying it was back ordered from their factory and as soon as they got it they would send me one. Who knows how much longer that will be! It would’ve been nice to have known they were out of stock at the time of purchase but NOPE!! Nothing!! It’s just aggravating AF.

@@projekt2745 I ended up getting it a year later. I wonder why this particular movie isn’t available for download anywhere. The high definition transfer is kinda weird. It’s really dark during certain scenes. It gives you the option of standard definition or high definition and imo I think the standard definition is better.
They should rename the title as *"Dracula: King of the Vampires"*

corny though. ? Though , at the time it would have impressed ? These days , we've seen Everything.......rather a shame really. . Still , Barbara Shelley , Andrew Keir and Frances Matthews all excell.!
