I watched this movie yesterday's night, my Christopher Lee's Dracula favourite..
better than most these days
First horror movie I ever saw at the theatre. I was 7. Hooked for life.
Only seen horror of Dracula will see this one for sure. Veronica Carlson pretty hot looking chick.... hi from India
Me too! First horror film I saw with my parents, and I was seven as well. Scared is understatement! I'm 61 now and would love to see this film again.
@@marksanford7643 lol I’ve owned this film on VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, and now Blu-ray. It’s a wonderful film to revisit! (And I’ll be 61 in a few short weeks! 😂😂😂)
This's because this film is rated G.
Good movie ! All these Hammer movies were excellent !
When I was like 5, I Happened to catch the opening of this movie with the girl in the bell tower and it scared me shitless. Always loved this movie since
Absolute pleasure - this trailer is as much a masterpiece of construction as the feature is!
A rated G horror film from 1969?! It should have been rated R.
Hammer at their very best!
Hammer-&-Sickle Horror
I think this is my favorite Hammer Dracula film so far--haven't seen the rest of them. But this one was phenomenal! Great performances, superb cinematography, strong screenplay and a surprisingly deep theme of spirituality vs. non-belief in the face of great evil. Christopher Lee reigns supreme in his visceral interpretation of Dracula!
+@@RETROGEMS Many excellent Hammer Horror films.
My review from my Facebook page The Christopher Lee Challenge and Reviews
Rise and rise again...
‘Dracula has Risen from the Grave’ (1968) Dir. Freddie Francis. Count Dracula (Christopher Lee) is once again resurrected, only this time he finds that the entrance to his castle has been blocked by a cross, which has been placed there by Monsignor Muller (Rupert Davies) during an exorcism. The Count plots his revenge, beginning by stalking Muller’s daughter Maria (Veronica Carlson) …
By 1968 and on his third appearance as Dracula, Christopher Lee’s enthusiasm for the role had already began to wean. However, that doesn’t stop Lee from putting in a superbly menacing performance. With minimal dialogue, Lee has to fall back on his physical presence, which he uses to full effect here. The close-ups on his eyes showcase how expressive he could be. His Dracula feels really threatening, something that is lacking in the later sequels.
Director Freddie Francis has a great ability to make scenes atmospheric, and he pulls out all the stops for the opening and closing scenes, his use of colour throughout is also excellent. He falls down somewhat in the middle section, where the pace drops to a crawl. Very little of interest happens in this part of the film, and as a result, Francis struggles to maintain interest, but it is worth staying with it to its decent finale. The hero of the film is Paul, played by Barry Andrews, and whilst Andrews is likeable enough, he doesn’t convince in the role. Rupert Davies who plays the Monsignor fares better and gets much more to do, but as with ‘Dracula, Prince of Darkness’ (1966) the absence of Peter Cushing’s Van Helsing is keenly felt.
A rich and lavish sounding score by James Bernard gives the film an added layer of polish.
A mixed bag of a film that somehow manages to be more than the sum of its parts, though it is still far from being a classic of horror cinema

Christopher Lee Screen Time 7 mins 53 secs
This was my first Hammer movie I saw. Looking back this is where Lee's tenure should have ended. It was a pretty good and well made movie. Unfortunately, the movies got cheaper and the scripts became weaker in the 1970's. Although, Lee gave his all throughout.
*This is the strongest story* & film *of Dracula*.
Fantastic film.
kept worthy golden days, these are bests nowdays!
the best for horror movies as clint eastwood for western cowboy movies
I love Dracula!
Pues anda que no pase miedo cuando era niño,y vi esta película en el cine, pase una semana cagado de miedo.
To me DRACULA is dead but in my mind throughts and heart Christopher is alive.
Brilliant film,Lee the legend is the only dracula for me...but there's one real mistake in this film.dracula crashes through the window in Maria's room then within minutes the windows back where it was.maybe the guys from everest popped round and fixed it lol
Ted Moult got it sorted immediately, yes 😂.
เป็นภาพยนตร์ที่ยอดเยี่ยม
The best era of Dracula
thrilling chase scene on the roof tops
Nancy Pelosi is like Bella Lugosi, either way, we get our blood sucked, lol
I just snapped to this. This film is the 3d, or 4th, version of ...Rio Bravo.
Thé best
rated 'G'
Yes it's rated 'G' and in spite of that, the interplay between Carlson & Lee is some of the hottest stuff I've seen on film. It shows 'nothing' & says 'nothing' but the music & the physical 'choreography' gave it pretty high marks in the 'eroticism' scale.
That is insane! If this movie was re rated today, it would had earned a PG-13! Not a G rating! What where they thinking back then?!
I guess the 60s and 70s where a crazy time isn’t it?
Wonder what the real Vlad Dracula would think if he saw this movie???
Maybe Ron Delby he would laugh and say to Christopher i will show u now watch carefully.
How did they capture my image on film? I don't even show up in mirrors?
There only trailers.
I don’t think Bram Stoker would have liked any of these films
I didn't like most of his book. Full of tedious repetitive melodrama filler.
"Dracula Has Risen from dhe Grave" (1968) scared dhe pants off me; [hellstormdocumentary]dot[com] truly horrified me.
Not. Scary
