man i got a 1997 ford explorer and it is the same thing i hope this works. i don't want a stupid fancy touch screen either i just want the tape to work like it's supposed to.
I'm DEFINITELY going to the try this on my 2002 Acura RL! It's doing the SAME and I'd like to play cassettes and listen to the Bluetooth Adapter! Big THANKS, My Friend! 🙏🏽
Have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with a factory Jeep 56002467(1991) AM/FM Cassette Player and just swapped out the tape modules in two 2467 cases. Now I have me some rocking tunes. Now what I want to know is when either the left or right channel goes out what is the cause on a 2467 and on a 56009004(1992) the volume is maxed out but I still need just a little bit more volume.
before you did this fix- did you see if the belt was broken? my drive belt is broken and keeps switching directions then ejects. If i did your bypass actuator fix would you still need the belt drive?
For me it’s making a sound like it’s sputtering, and it won’t activate all the way, so I may do the same and take the cover off if I can and see what’s going on, I have the adapter like you and it’s worked fine before it just randomly decided to quit on me out of nowhere, wish me luck. I have a Volvo 740 GL
Ugh... I have the Toyota plastic spindle wheel problem in mine. Over time it cracks and will bind up on the drive wheel and release causing a clicking noise that comes through the audio as well every rotation. So annoying and impossible to fix :-(
Hi.Am I missing something. The relay coil is a change over switch for direction when tape spool hits end of tape.Doing this renders the cassette useless
well thats a jerry rig fix, dont think when the tape ends it will work all that well, i imagine it was probably a case of a cracked gear turning, then at the gap it didnt turn a gear for a second thinking the tape stopped doing this
Mate i have a 940 and looks like we have the same tape deck but my problem is the cassettes wont play at all, so the tape isnt spinning but when i press fast forward i can see it move, any tips to get it to work ?
Get it to play, and jam something in above the tape, not super jammed, but like a piece of cardboard. It's the easiest way to stop the front back front back bullshit. Usually just holding the fucker in better works too. It's just because it's so worn out.
Yup discovered jamming something in mine stops that, I just can't believe I was this stupid to jam some thing in it. Just to watch you jam some thing in it. lol.
Why don't you just get another adapter that works instead of destroying your stereo? Something unexpected will happen if you leave that penny in there with the solenoid going all the time. Those solenoid parts are only made for momentary use. You have no idea on what your doing. That didn't fix it. Just go ahead and leave that penny in there and see what happens.
Been in there for well over 8 months and still works great. If you watched the video, the issue was with the stereo, not the adapter. It wouldn't play regular tapes either. Now it plays everything, and my roadside fix made the rest of that roadtrip remarkably more enjoyable. Plus, my car retains that stock aesthetic. There's nothing more permanent than a temporary solution that works, buddy.
Fault is in the tape end sensor circuit & gives wrong information to the auto reverse toggle solenoid. what you have done is using pampers on diarrhea patient.

For sure! Hope you can fix it, sounds like a solid ride

Give it a go! No idea if it’ll work with another brand but good luck :)
Did this work for you? I have a 2000 Acura RL. I don't want to gut my baby if it's not necessary
Experiencing the same with my 03 RL. Quite annoying

Hm, that's tough! Any dry solder joints or loose wires? Sometimes twiddling the volume knob back and forth can clean it up and help too.
Will the auto reverse work properly after, or will I have to flip the tape myself?
You'll have to flip the tape yourself.
I was super sad when you said the coin was too tall but super happy when you said you’d fold it
Ha! Yeah, it's still in there today, works great ;D
Yesss thats whats happening with mine finally somone who has a video for what im looking for
before you did this fix- did you see if the belt was broken? my drive belt is broken and keeps switching directions then ejects. If i did your bypass actuator fix would you still need the belt drive?
No broken belts

Maybe a clean? Hope you solve it!
good on ya mate! i'm still browsing youtube to fix my E36 reverse radio!
Ugh... I have the Toyota plastic spindle wheel problem in mine. Over time it cracks and will bind up on the drive wheel and release causing a clicking noise that comes through the audio as well every rotation. So annoying and impossible to fix :-(
That’s a shame. I hope you can find new guts to transplant in, or maybe 3D print a replacement. Keep me posted!
Gonna try it on my 1985 vette hopefully works
Good luck! You deserve pumping cassette tunes
Oh. my God... my 04 c70's sc-901 keeps doing the same thing... I'm trying this.
So dumb hey, hope it works :)
is this lewis from h20 just add water???
Hi.Am I missing something. The relay coil is a change over switch for direction when tape spool hits end of tape.Doing this renders the cassette useless
You just flip the cassette yourself my buddy
Would this work for a Volvo from 2002?
Potentially, if this is the problem you're having!
Great solution but what a pain :( This happens on so many old units.
Yeah tape decks are a pain to keep going, hey
You're an idiot you're not supposed to use a tape adapter in cassette decks you are only supposed to use regular cassette tapes
well thats a jerry rig fix, dont think when the tape ends it will work all that well, i imagine it was probably a case of a cracked gear turning, then at the gap it didnt turn a gear for a second thinking the tape stopped doing this
Actually worked fine with test tapes!
@@WhatUpTKHere really? shit then that beats me
Your a life saver man thank you for giving me a real fux
Happy to help!
Dang one of the best videos lol
So kind! Thank you+

Take it apart and give it a nice thorough but gentle clean. Motor could be gummed up and not turning when it should be playing at regular speed
@@WhatUpTKHere ill give that a go thanks heaps mate appreciate the reply
Hey! Question.. Does this work if I am listening to actual cassette tapes? Will I be able to fast forward and rewind the tapes? Thanks for the help.
Yeah, worked fine, tried it out with YAW CONTROL cassette by anti lag

You did help a lot but you didn't tell me how to take the radio out
Ahaha, my apologies. Plenty of good guides online that show in good detail tho! Good luck with the fix :)
I'm 14, an I collect pre-recorded cassettes for when I get my first car.
Do it!
@@WhatUpTKHere I might make a youtube video about my cassettes.
Did you get a car yet?
i think itis going a bit fast for a normal cassete
My dumbass held my fingers in it to watch the exact same thing. I just didn't wanna take it out because it works amazing.
Same probelm with my Kia Carnival 2000 Tape Deck and CD player
Hope you can fix it! Challenging

Gotcha...it's temporarily permanent...
stop eating paint chips bro
Nice tip. Thanks bro
Anytime!
Si el autorreverse se acciona por algo es no aconsejo trabar el mecanismo
It’s a delicate mechanism
Oh god I hope I don't have to turn to this for my Passat.
hahaha, just a penny will do :)
I'm so fucking heartbroken. Do I really have to gut my dash? I hate cars.
It's not that bad to take apart! Except if your Volvo is 30 years old, then all the plastics will shatter lol

I think it is a cork rather than Pampers. In any case, do you know how to do a proper repair? If so, please share!
Smart! How do you fix the sensor? I assume it's buried in the drive gearing which would be a pain to get to.
Diarrhoea thing was gross. Eww.
yeah, sony does make some ugly car stereos.
They do!
Not a proper fix
Fair! You had any luck?
