I want you to know that I recently bought a 1985 Ram and your videos have helped a lot. I got the truck because my grandad had an 87. He passed before I was born but my dad had the truck for years until it wore but I just had to have one. I’ve done all the work on it myself so far. So thank you!
Cassettes! I sat out the whole CD era and stuck with cassettes. Though I would proudly proclaim to others that I was waiting out CD’s, I was often met with laughter and ridicule. Well, who’s laughing now you CD lovers? That’s right....who’s laughing now?
Here's a link to the RetroSound radio I'm interested in. I love how closely it mimics a stock radio from the 80's. www.amazon.com/dp/B08B1WWLT3/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_D3X0C92KW8Z6K37JQYZG
Hey Jason, you could try to find a local old school electronics repair center and see if they can fix it, I'd keep the OEM radio over the retro sound, sorry it did not work!! I have a similar bluetooth cassette for my 2003 GMC Envoy and it works great
I just had my Harmon Kardon DC520 give up the ghost and won’t eject on one side anymore. Apparently this is common with older decks when the belts start to harden and eventually crumble, the drive mechanism gets stuck and won’t release the tape.
😿 My first car was a 1978 Ford Fairmont with an 8-Track Player... I purchased an 8-Track to Cassette Adapter and then an In-Line (Headphone Jack) Adapter to plug into my 1993 SONY DISCMAN! Worked great until I hit bumps...
The tape deck cleaner didn't work, & got stuck, because you didn't remove the white bar on the back of it. You're supposed to remove that, before you put it in the deck. That tape deck cleaner actually does work, when used correctly.
If i were you just find an aftermarket tape deck from the 90s or early 2000s like a pioneer or alpine off ebay to put in that truck I'm sure it's better than that shitty factory tape deck
DAMN YOU JEFF BEZOS!! (*shakes fist angrily in the air)
I know right?! Pretty soon his death drones will start flying into my poor old truck. I'm sure of it!

Looking forward to the RetroSound head unit install hopefully in your future!
Chris Smith, the only guy awesome enough that I know who rocked a Microsoft Zune back in the day.

I'll definitely hang on to the old radio and try to fix it, if I go for something new or not.

:-(
I put one of them fancy 8 track stereos in my 89 dodge
Came for the Colorado/Overland DIY, stayed for the humor and random facts (and its exactly what I need as the Moderna #2 side effects wear off).
Oh, nice! Hope you feel better soon. My wife had a fever for 3 days after getting the 2nd Pfizer. I get my 2nd Pfizer in 10 days. WOOHOO!
@@JasonExplainsThings I started feeling off the night of, at 3am it really kicked off and then around 9pm I suddenly felt basically normal. Wild ride!
Speaking of tunes, what's the catchy intro song?
Why that’s the Old Dodge theme song! :-). It’s from the RUclips music library.
I have an 87 dodge d100 and I'm wondering if the tailgate and bed are the same as the 150 is. Thanks.
I'm not sure but I'd imagine they are.
i'm updating to tape deck right now!
Oof, how did you even keep your cool. You should have choked the companies lawyers with the casette's tapes.

Awesome! I remember my discman skipping all the time. 😆
Haha got rid of mine when I bought and thought about retro sound but found a JVC unit instead

Thank you very much
lol that was unexpected. XD
