Want even more shawl knitting ideas? Here's a video all about the favorite patterns (and designers!) that other knitters recommend - ruclips.net/video/KG8-7sGtABU/видео.html
One of my go to patterns - free - is Age of Brass and Steam by Orange Flower Yarn. Rav says its a kerchief, but no reason the knitter can’t keep going. It’s great for long-repeat variable yarn like Mini Mochi. I’ve made many.
If you follow "Expression Fiber Arts" when new patterns are put out they are free on the Friday and I have only ever paid $5-6 CND when I miss the free day and all patterns have a you tube tutorial.
I enjoyed your easy to understand and follow descriptions....you seem very comfortable speaking and explaining ideas. Thanks for such a pleasant delivery.
A lovely video of a large assortment of lovely shawls plus how they made up and other interesting tips. I was planning to knit the Boneyard Shawl a Steven West Shawl. Your podcast is so interesting 🤔
There are several easy and free shawl patterns that I love; Twindom by Taiga Hilliard, October Leaf Shawl by Amy Kate Sutherland and Josephinetuch/Josephine shawl by Susan Gutperl, to name just a few! The Valona Shawl is also great; simple and useful. I made a few in cotton yarn and I love them.
I love the Cityscape Shawl (more of a shawlette in size) and Marly’s Garter Stitch Shawl, both on Yarnspirations and free. I used the Loops and Threads Barcelona yarn from Michael’s for the Cityscape, but any 5 weight yarn with long painterly color changes in two coordinating but contrasting colorways will do. Marly Bird has YT videos for both of those patterns, and I’ve made two of each.
Thanks for another great video! I love that you introduce me to new-to-me designers. I’m off to dive into Handy Little Me designs! I would love to see some summer ponchos. My mom wants a petite v-neck summer poncho/ponchette. Do you know if 2 rectangle shawls seamed together would make a poncho? Have a beautiful day! Christina
I think that would work but you can also do the same with just one rectangle - like this folded poncho from Churchmouse Yarns www.churchmouseyarns.com/products/easy-folded-poncho-pattern
I know it’s summer, and we are having a record heat wave, but I am on a shawl knitting kick, so I am super excited to try some of these! I guess everybody is getting a shawl for Christmas 😅
Hiya. I have just subscribed. I love the next to last shawl which you designed yourself. How do I get this pattern please? Hiya Tonia. Found it. Great 👍
Thank you for a wonderful variety included in this video! I am having issues going to the spindrift pattern, and it's not a problem with the link you posted. I also tried googling that website. and it looks like she may have been hacked?? It comes up with a message from some anonymous army thing. Is anyone else having issues?

My favorite?
“The Bandito Scarf”
Free on Ravelry. Has great texture . Easy to knit. Can be enlarged into a shawl.

Absolutely wonderful tutorials on EFA, and their patterns are great.
Thank you! This was a great video that was made even better because you refrained from constant background music. THANK YOU ☺️
The shade of blue you chose for the Grain shawl is so rich and beautiful. Gorgeous result for your first time making a shawl.
Thank you!
The Color Adventure Shawl looks really fun.

I think the Stormy Sky Shawl is a very pretty, easy and free shawl. It uses fingering weight yarn with #9 needles.
Great episode! One of my favorite shawl patterns is the Hitchhiker Shawl by Martina Behm. It’s on Ravelry. Happy Knitting 🧶
That is a great shawl pattern!
I am just now knitting Distinction, which is a very fun knit. I am curious about how it will come out after blocking

Wonderful! I think shawls are great knitting for summer - they are easier to carry around and knit than a whole sweater!
Hiya. I have just subscribed. I love the next to last shawl which you designed yourself. How do I get this pattern please? Hiya Tonia. Found it. Great 👍
My favourites so far are the Kari by Sari Nordlund and the Mara by Madeline Tosh
Thanks for sharing your favorites - I'm going to have to do another video featuring all of these great shawls everyone is recommending!
The Easy Goes It shawl comes in a dk version as well.
Good to know!
Your knitting technique....i have never seen it before. do you have a video teaching it?
Sorry, I haven't made a video about that!
