HOW TO GET YOUR BMX BIKE DIALED!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2024
- For today's Tech Thursday we cover how to get your BMX bike to sound dialed (or noise free).
I address the 5 major issues that cause your bike to sound clanky, loose, or that it makes it feel not as good as it could!
They are:
1) A loose chain
2) A loose headset
3) Loose cranks or bottom bracket
4) Loose pedals
5) Low air pressure
Follow these helpful tips and your bike should feel a whole lot better!
Please let me know in the comments about videos you want to see, other tutorials, and any other suggestions you guys might have!
Thank you everyone :)

all frames should have built in chain tensioners.
???? maybe know what the part is just dont remember
yeah a chain tensioner is on mountain bikes not bmx , clearly his isnt your channel to watch
U r dum m8
Pepe Swegpool ok then go ask anyone els in this comment section if a bmx has a chain tensioner , google chain tensioner and you get a bunch of parts that go on a mtb
thats true!
Someone's dealing in the background at 4:59
Christopher Hardy bruh💀
Looks like he asked for a lighter
@@cameronleith3299 he's postin up like a mailbox..
bruh all you tuturials are simple af but at the same time explained every detail, perfect
Thank you Jimmy :D
HE REPLIED :D
I dailed my bike,...It didnt answer
GOTTEEMMMMM
Alfredo Mancuso lol
Alfredo Mancuso I had a question you know on a bmx should the wheel be able to move backwards shin you pedal backwards because mine doesn't move backwards when I pedal backwards
I don't care how old this comment thread is, I died
Knex Extreme A Freecoaster is where you pedal backwards and the wheel spins backwards and a Cassette (idk if I spelled that right) is where the wheel doesn't spin backwards when you pedal backwards
No dislikes ! That's how all of your vids should be man. Always so interesting and informative.
can you do a video on how to fully install a bmx 360 gyro? it would help me alot.
ian duell yes and brake tips and what makes brakes good and squeak
for sure!
will do!
thankyou
Yo Alfredo! This is Frankie, justinesmushstine's husband. Just wanted to say thanks for the tires bro, I cleaned off the paint and they are killer. Again I just wanted to say thanks. Have a happy New Year. Keep up the great work and much love from Southwest Louisiana mayne!!!!
so many people I know need to watch this😂😂
I like how you're willing to help people out on your RUclips channel and not just plug, plug, plug company products!
I wish there were channels like this when I was 14/16 and had no clue what I was doing with my bmx 😂 back then I was more interested in putting my bike together than riding it
haha thanks Nigel, glad you enjoyed it :)
I haven't even watched it yet but I hope you tagged Hicks. The BB on his new bike is creaking already!
hahahha he's always been a lazy one with the bike maintenance haha
U didn't talk about loose Hubs
its going to be a separate video about hubs
Long time fan of the channel. Sorry to here about your break in, these streets are cray. wanted to try and help you out by making some content idea suggestions (must be hard putting stuff out as regular as you do)
1. You can get little hammocks online for cats, I think tony would enjoy one
2. late night ghost walk, if there are any abandonned sites near you
3. more day in the life with phil Love watching him rip.
4. care package giveaway, get all the oss boys to chuck something (legal) in the box (begin)
5. streets of la tourguide by bmx, Im from the uk would love to see more of the city and some street riding on the way.
Thanks so much Mootube! I added your suggestions to my notepad of content ideas! Cheers!!
Anytime man.
BRO ARE LITERLLY THE BEST BMX RUclipsR EVER!! everything works
Hahaha you’re too kind :)
I guess my son is too actively using my profile, thanks anyway, he fixed it
Tysm. I had a horrible crash. I over shot a 720 and landed horizontally. I had all of these problems, my bike was to loud and I felt like it would break the second I start riding again. This video helped so much
Don't forget to check your hubs and spokes to. I know mine get lose a lot.
wells how?
My biggest thing is pedals...I like them to be tight & then it's chain. Everything else should be tight to avoid damage to bearings. But those are just my biggest things I like to keep extra tight and dialed 👌🏼👌🏼.
Most def Zach!
Should come in handy cheers Alfredo my bikes gonna be done next week super keen
Stoked Ash :)
All these vids help me a lot!!! I'll know a lot by the time I get my first bike soon! Thx for the videos
You're very welcome!
Can you do a video on how to install a new chain and how many links you need to take out to make it fit ?
can you pull John hicks to one side and explain to him how to grease his cranks and headset
when I center my back whell, I normally place the thumb on the chainstay
(I put half of the thumb next to the rim) and use that as a guide while adjusting it little by little.
then I take a look at the sprocket from the back of the bike and check if its aligned with the drive
I did not know the technique you used on the video, i'll go for that (less messy + faster imo) lol
haha let me know if that works for you!
i use a hammer handle or and tool handle to wedge between the frame and tire, to make it the right chain tension, but not to much tension. and it does not shift, as you tight to much, give it a whirl.you can really pick your tire postion.
Bro I'm bouta share this with my friends! They really need this lol
Love ya!
Wish this video came out when i started riding, would have solved hours of struggle in a matter of minutes haha.. only thing you could have also included is the cones on the wheels (especially on complete bikes) coming loose, that used to annoy me sooo bad but never figured out its the front wheel.
hahaha I think the same thing! but yea cones, hubs, and brakes are going to be a separate video.
Hey Alfredo can you please do a Video how to fix/build a BMX correctly? I for example got problems in fixing my stem correctly so that the handel bar is in the right Position. That would been great👌
Sure! I can do that for you :)
Nice
YESSS I LOVE TECH THURSDAYS !!!!!!!!!!!
Thats what I love to hear :D
I never knew u could pull the cap on tge pedals LMFAO thank you!
Haha got you fam!
I wish i had seen this earlier! my chain was too tight and i broke em :'( R.I.P Fitbike

Many, many thank yous for this one, Alfredo! I've been wondering for a while what you OSS street guys run your air pressure at. I ride mostly street and try to stay around 50 psi in the back, 40 up front, but at times a bit lower. However, I'm only 145 lbs so I can get away with that easier than others. I find that lower air pressure in the rear helps my manuals "dramatically". Keep up the awesome work my friend, I know a lot more about bmx bikes than I ever thought I would. Happy New Year to the OSS crew!
If you can remember, I've been asking for this shitt for ages!
haha I got this a lot, but i'm sure you were one of the first ones I saw!
What about either wheels' cone nuts? Pivotal Seat bolt? Spokes? Should make a video on these!
Awesome tips. Many thanks.
rad! Hope it helps :)
Thanks for this was able to sort my kids bike
Glad I could help :)
yo this video was mad informative i APPROVE good job Alf👍🔥🐲
Thanks my dude :D Glad I could be of service!
Can you make a video on fork geometry and/or what forks to get?
S T R A T U H I mean it's just offset. That's like the only dimension that changes. A 10 minute video on one dimension would be very hard to make
For home storeage safety, if you have several bikes, try to find an old lifting chain, i dont know what the correct name is, but its what you would see being used to lift really heavy machinery?, i have a piece of this , its like a warship anchor chain!, about ten feet long, weighs maybe 30 kilos??, wrapped in cloth, so not to damage frames, then you want either a shipping container padlock, or similar, ingersoll rand do a really good one, nobody is going to be taking your bikes with this set up!!
for the ppl that still ride brakes always remember to check your brake cable, alot of times your hear a clinking noise is your cable bouncing off the frame! #AlfGang
Solid tip! Thanks Robbie!
yeee! mine always clinks so I'm always trying to fix it! #AlfGang need to get an oss sticker to keep the cable right! ha
Great video, very informative with no BS.
Thank ya Gregg!
gracias por el advice, Alfredo
Siempre!
Thank you so much I just got a new one and it was makin hella noise
hope it helps :)
I'm sure it will thanks
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALFREDO! #ALFROPEGANG

This video is a life saver! Thanx bro!
Sweet tech. video.. very helpful - thank you. Did you get a new camera? Everything is sharp and the focus is spot on
Alf with the fit bit 💪🏾🤓
Don't forget the locknuts on your wheels that might cause wobbling!
that's a separate video all together haha
Your videos have been a great help to me. Thanks!
yoooo, wat up Alf? loving that bike brosky. you should sponsor me or shoot some freebies out my way for promos bro! look out for a paisa lol

Benjamin Riper lit
Thx alf this video help a lot
Stoked Anthony!
Super helpful👌🏼
Glad it helps :)
lol. I wish there would have been s thing like how to videos when I first started riding.
Haha I say that all the time!
I love your vids brother. Very informative and fun to watch!
Yo Alf, yeah buddy loved this one for sure. Learned a lot bout getting my bike "dialed" in. Nothing worse then acshitty sounding bike in my opinion. Thanks Alf!!
#ALFGANG
Love to hear that! Thanks Michael :)
Can you do a video on changing tires or grips? Thanks!
i notice my pedals would creak and pop, i put Teflon tape on them maybe loctite would work too and its good and quiet now
That's a good suggestion :)
your videos are dialed 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤
Thanks Victor :D :)
Alfredo Mancuso You're welcome and I can imagine so good how you would say my name I don't know how to explain that but I think u know watta mean 😅and it's soooo cool that u answer to ALL comments keep going 💪🔥
For sure get some security shutters for your storefront!
What about the hub in the front or rear
usually sealed bearing wheels don't have that issue as much as loose ball bearing ones
shouts to the mail man..
My hubs on my bike are extremely loose and I took them to a bike shop and the guy tightened them but in five minutes they were loose and sounded like crap again, any advice?
Riley Wallace either get them fully serviced or buy some new hubs bud.
Can you do a video on how to fit a brake gyro please.
Next week :)
Alfredo Mancuso Awesome thanks from a fan from England!
good look and stay up, we outy
Alfredo , Im from Brazil. I need to know how to buy a OSS bike , with cassete!! You send to Brazil ? Sorry my bad english. .
Another solid video dude.
keep up the good work .
great vid keep em up
Thans Taylor :)
nice video man. here's my problem. I use to ride in high school and back then bikes were different, they were 45, 50lbs and the dimensions were different. I road a 2 hip soul, i just got back into riding but this new bike style feels completely different. my 2 hip felt like it was a part of me, a 4th leg if you will. no matter what I do and change I just can't get it to feel right. now I'm lost on what to do next. is there anyway you can make a video of how to set up a bike for someone specific? something like , if you're this tall you want this hight bars or you weigh this much you want this setup this way etc. my frame I believe is the same length as my last but I'm real close to giving up and just building my 50lbs 2 hip again so I feel comfortable and I can start riding again instead of spending all the time I ride trying to figure out and set up my new frame. if no video, if u have and ideas that might help I'm all ears. thanks man
Hey boss, this video might actually help ruclips.net/video/BAVZPKhniyQ/видео.html
Alfredo Mancuso thanks man, I'll give it a watch
Thanks for the video!
Haha! Love the tank destroyer top!
ayyy
You forgot the cones I know they don't really tend to get lose but it is a thing worth checking
Yo do a video on how to greace a freecoaster
ruclips.net/video/5_NTw47aSLI/видео.html
thx
What you prefer brakes or no brakes make it maybe a video about what you like most
definitely! :)
Alfredo Mancuso Thanks man :)
the only thing I need to dial my bike in is an OSS sticker!!!!!
thanks bro
anytime!
I have similar brakes on my bike and where the rear brake cable loops around the seat post frame that hole cluster the cables just rattles and slammed up against the underside of the top tube. how do you fix that from rattling
You could wrap your top tub with a little bit of tape right where the cable taps your frame and it'll eliminate a lot of the noise.
what hub guards do you guys recommend? I have the colony wasp hub set
Usually Division Brand hub guards work well with Colony products
Waited for this for
ayyyy!
The more I tight my cranks the harder it is to spin them, which means I should have loose cranks if I wanna do crankflips, but no one wants loose cranks lol, what should I do? I have a salt mid bb and salt cranks.
Note: *I do have the spacer between the two bearings in the bottom bracket*
If you want to be able to crankflip then you want to loosen your cranks, not tighten them.
What can I do to make my cranks spin for cranflips I used to be able to do them but than one day They stopped spinning is it my hug or cranks or is it my chain ? What are some things I should try?
Thank you brother really helped out 😊
Thank you so much
60-65 what alf ... pahaaa.
much help as always tho dude
hahahaha damn mailman!
I have primo powerbites and I lovev them , but every time I land a hop trick they creak , and also creak when I pedal up hills and pump before ramps. Is there a way to fix this.
Can you do a tutorial on how to take your cassette apart and clean it please
My problem is when I tighten my chain the loose point is too loose but when I slightly tighten the loose point to where it's not hanging down then there's a lot of tension on the tight point almost like I can't find the in between where it's tight on both tight and loose points
where did all the freecoasters come from recently? im from the era of way over built 30lbs+ monsters, my last frame was a fbm angel of death and t1 barcode
what about the wheel hub ? i have a loose front wheel hub and it is the only thing that makes noise on my bike besides pedals and those don't make enough noise to notice but my front wheel hub makes it sound like my headset is loose but i know it isnt because i have it tight,
usually sealed bearing wheels don't have that issue as much as loose ball bearing ones
Alfredo Mancuso i think i have unsealed ,i got the rims off of a buddies bike that he was chunking
My bike sounds like it is vibrating throughout the bike but when i hit the pedals or cranks it sounds like it might be them. Could the pedals or cranks be causing the whole bike to rattle
Yes most definitely, it could be a the bottom bracket, chain or the cranks themselves
Could it be the bearings in the bottom bracket
u late lol, i still waited tho luv these tech thursdays alf
hahaha the store wifi is sooo slow! My bad!
np man lol
Aye al most of the play comes from the front wheel too bro
that's going to be a separate video :)
dont forget about front wheel cone nuts
usually sealed bearing wheels don't have that issue as much as loose ball bearing ones
My forks seem kind of short and when I put my headset and spacers on the tube for the forks doesn't go all the way threw the stem is that a problem and is there a way to get a longer tube? And how is that sized?
i just bought a new bike fitbikeco dugan sig, trying to learn crankflips but the cranks are too tight to spin a full rotation, i loosened my chain a lot and still won't spin. does it just need time to break in or should i grease it up?
THANK YOU JESUS I LOVE YOU ALFREDO SAUCE
☺☺☺🙏🏻+Ian B Boarder
How do you stop creaking???
usually you need to find where the creaking is coming from and then you can usually solve it by applying grease at that joint
Alfredo Mancuso I think creaking is coming from my tire spikes being loose
weight plays a factor in psi I'm assuming....right?
That's correct!
when i ride my bike some times it feels like something snaps or cracks but i check my sprocket to see if a tooth snapped off or something like that i see nothing what is wrong? please respond i have a 2017 subrosa tiro satin phosphalate 20.5 thank you
How do you dial your wheel hubs (front and back)???
You called tire pressure degrees
Every now and then when i go to pedal my bike it makes this like pop kind of noise once when i move the cranks, is it the cranks or bottom bracket?
Hi, so after tightening chain and centering my rear wheel, the rear brakes rub a little while i spin it. The brakes are new ks. Advice please?
