Welcome to the Took the Midnight Bus Club, how Took the Midnight Bus are ya?
Yes
affirmative
It's dark
*I took the Midnight Bus. I also took an unsuspecting victim-*
I took the midnight motorcycle home, garunteed more scarier
To be honest, waiting for the bus late at night irl is already a horror story in itself.
Ugh , having to do any thing at night or deal with stuff at night can be a horror story in it self / on its own. It's too easy to be scared at night though. I'm always more impressed with getting scared by some thing or some one during the day / early in the morning.
Especially in San Francisco 😖
Ever partake of the novel experience that is a journey on American Greyhound bus?
Think of the kind of... "People" that you expect to meet at a bus stop on the not-so-great side of a run-down city, and then put them all together on a practically non-stop bus trip for 12-36 hours.
One poorly ventilated bathroom. Crummy ventilation.
...It creates that rare situation where you ABSOLUTELY need to be intoxicated enough to readily ignore your surroundings, but not so much that you're oblivious to them (or be readily obvious that you're intoxicated).
It's basically last ditch option for when you need to travel cross-country for the price of shipping something equivalent to your own weight via postage, and the amount of time it takes for the bus to get you there isn't an important factor.
You take a 24+ hour trip on the Greyhound bus, and you are GUARANTEED to have a story or two by the end of your trip -especially if you're making stops in major cities after nightfall. Definitely bring a cellphone with an extra power cell, and make sure you LOCK your luggage -to your own leg if need be.
Ik thank God for Uber
Man such memories of my youth working a graveyard shift.
Manly has to be one of the few people who, when offered a probably drugged beer by a totally trustworthy stranger, asks for something harder.
Tbh that would be the most intimidating thing I would think of as that person handing Manly the drink, like yeah maybe he’d drop but maybe not, maybe he’d drink it and then go “Got any more?” And THEN I’d be in trouble
Beer is a drug
@@MM-ig1iv no it’s not. you have no idea how different those things are
@@mcflysdougie actually it is all alcohol is a drug maybe you should learn a few things. My mother has a nurse has worked with substance abuse professionals
@@NicCageForPresident2024 dude there’s a big difference between substances
and the effects they have on people abusing them are not the same
Imagine being a killer, finding the perfect victim in an isolated place, waiting for the perfect moment to strike... and then, out of nowhere, your target suddenly get hit by a bus...
LMFAO! 🤣😂 I don't know why I laughed so hard when I read that. 😂 I guess one would rather get hit and die by a bus then to ever have to endure the constant fear of dying at the hands of a complete stranger that can potentially have their way with you lol...
Task failed succesfully
I don't know why, but bus stops always give me weird feelings, but the feeling itself depends on if it has a covered shelter or not.
Without the shelter, it feels like you're a lot lonelier than you actually are, but with the shelter there it feels like the shelter is the only thing between you and some awful fate that'll get you right before the bus shows up
in the mornings I tend to stand adjacent to the bus shelter, at the bus stop itself, cos I'm usually the only dumbass out there at 6.15. So it's a weird combo of the two I guess haha.
Yeah, I feel it. The light that's usually on a shelter also makes it feels safe.
@@FeenieVonKarma better than the dumbass waiting for bus at 3AM
Every bus stop should have a bus shelter. And not just for safety reasons. Not having one makes you feel less secure and more vulnerable to your unknown environment when the crazies start roaming the streets at night. Plus, it can provide cover for bad weather too. And yet, the government is so cheap to provide something as basic as that for the people is quite sad.
here in buenos aires the bus stops on the highway are super creepy... they're basically these tall black sort of shelter things, you have to go up some stairs to get to them, plus the light is almost always dead. i never had anything weird happen to me, maybe some drunk motherfucker shouting but not much else thankfully. they are creepy at night tho, specially on smaller stops where there's no one around. i think the scariest thing though is how bad bus frequencies are. i once waited like 2 hours for ANY bus at all to show up. lol.
Isolated bus stops are pretty much the equivalent of middle-of-nowhere gas stations. You just pray you'll never go there at night as you risk the fucking biscuit.
And that's why you don't trust the random stranger who emerged from the bushes at night. The good ending is just you being smart, getting out of there as fast as possible. The secret also got a good laugh out of me.
Dude dressed like Castiel.
@@chilomine839 that reference lol
@@chilomine839 oh absolutely
Nah, that rando is coming home from the pub and just needed a piss.
i met a stranger that emerged from the bushes and he gave me 7 hits of lsd on my tongue. great time!
The moral is to never accept gifts from strangers and to not miss your bus or you will be stabbed and taken in to pixelated weeds by a guy that looks like a poorly detailed John Constantine.
Poor John
bruh he does look like John Constantine
Very cool concept to use real time waiting in an unnerving situation as the source of the horror. The execution is obviously veeeeery rough here though, it's too shallow beyond that initial idea and mixing it with multiple endings just means waiting through the same cutscene you've already seen multiple times with no way to speed it up.
I worked a job that closed house at 3 AM for almost 3 years…and yes, can confirm the late night bus is a horror show.
Just lucky this doesn't take place in Jersey, otherwise the bus would have already come 15 minutes earlier and you'd just have to wait like 3 hours for the next one because the schedule is fucked for any bus that isn't going to New York. A horror story of a different kind.
Hah, more like anywhere from 15 minutes early to an hour late. I've once waited so long for the bus that it arrived along with the next one scheduled.
the creepy guy was definitely from NJ
NJTransit s my favorite genre of horror
HA, HA Jersey! Wait a minute..
I wish the secret ending was after talking to him and making pleasant conversations with him, after missing the bus he takes you home with no problem like that guy in SpongeBob who gave the balloon returning him home
Manly running after the bus was honestly my favorite part
Gives me Tobey Maguire's vibes.
I just love a horror game where nothing goes wrong. Especially the secret ending 😂
Waiting a bus alone at night with a random guy is totally a nightmare. Let alone taking something they give.
Can be a good PSA not to get close to stranger at middle of night xD
I wouldn't worry about it, you sound neurotic. If it's gonna happen, it will, no matter how long you worry about it the night beforee
Actully it is a good idea and attempt to be social as several notable social cues can be established and you can determine friend from foe more easily. Like if somone doesent respond to you let alone even acknowledges you thats a red flag.
@@murlocmaster6192 I tend to not respond when strangers talk to me but I'm not an ax murderer lol.
@@hatashes5650 aye but we dont know that. I dont like how you are lying to me sir, im gonna have to ask you to stop plz and ty
@@murlocmaster6192 I'm not lying why would you think that?
_At least it was only a 4 minute wait_
Waiting for a bus or a train in a deserted area or empty station is bad enough. But then that _one_ person comes up near you. You can't help but begin to get nervous. Usually with good reason. This really captured that nervousness well.
A stranger tries to strike up conversation. Truly the scariest scenario possible.
You would hate it in Argentina then. People (strangers) start conversations everywhere and in any circumstance.

idk why but your voice is like a lullaby, so calm and smooth, i have grown fond of it tbh. keep up the work big man! hearing your voice is my dose of serotonin tbh-
This is true
Agree. Please read bed time story for me
Im glad manly earned the speed run world record. He deserves it with that amount of skills and not even needing to use bugs ir exploits to complete it was outstanding.
I have a very important exam tomorrow and this video came just in time because it's 1am rn and I can't sleep but Manly's soothing voice is like a lullaby.
I'll probably watch this video again after my exam.
Good night everybody.
edit: thanks for the good wishes everybody, I ended up approving that exam. And the video was great as expected :)
Good luck with your exam!
Good luck with the exam!
In Other words: The video was boring.
(obv joke)
good luck with the exam!! i bet youll do great :]
Bro get some sleep
I recently moved to a new city on my own back in september. Getting off the bus at night when the bus station had closed and i had to walk unfamiliar quiet streets in the dark for about 10-15 minutes back to my new place was genuinely a horrible experience. I've stopped getting the bus at night now, just didn't feel safe when i got off at all.
You remind me of someone I saw yesterday with her friend, she was wearing like a light blue tartan top, it was weird af because they focused on me, it was a mcdonalds, like do they think I'm just going to go up and talk to them lmao.
@@localgrassfieldboneshandler well you will be glad to know I was not at a McDonald’s yesterday haha
@@hisammy3969 Well I am, hahah.
@@localgrassfieldboneshandler sorry?

I enjoyed this setting, namely the empty dark road in the middle of no where. I think it could've used a street light or something to set the mood lighting, but otherwise good for such a short experience. Both glad and disappointed that there were no jump scares.
In my college days, my classes got out at 9:45pm at the earliest, I wouldn't catch my first bus until 10:30 and the second bus after midnight. One was downtown Seattle and the midnight one was an empty transit center. It never scared me in the slightest. Even with no people in sight, the city is so populated that I just don't feel as helpless. But out in the country, on a dark road far enough away from any civilization that it could be that quiet, surrounded by bushes? That would be terrifying. I grew up in places like that before moving to the city. I would NOT be out there by myself.
im surprised when manly looked at the garbage can he didnt say his soul was in there
Night busses are a trip. I'd always rather, you know, stay out of the light that illuminates you for anyone or anything in the dark. But if you're not standing right by the bench and are completely visible, half the time the half asleep guy at the wheel just keeps on trucking without a stop.
“Maybe I had to walk up to the door”
That is how you enter a bus 😂
Yeah well normally the freaking door opens. Here you had to click on the closed door.
@@theuncalledfor the bus driver didn't want the same creepy experience behind the wheel , with Jeffrey Dahmer sitting behind him.
Thought " let's get the hell out of here ,fuck that creep !
It's just amazing how a stranger and a bus can create a horror atmosphere!!
Your video is healing me on a hot summer...!!
i love it that so many horror moments follow a certain set of circumstances that's so identifiable by most people, but still the characters always say "What could go wrong?"
>character
I'm reffering to horror protagonists in general. Sorry, you're still wrong 😘
It reminds me the beginning of last year when I changed my course schedule to evening so I had to take the bus every night, like 11:30 pm, the difference is that it was in the city downtown, but it was mostly empty because of pandemics with some hobos asking for change and only a few students spread over the boardwalk.
That's generally normal.
Real life bus lore: The bus only comes early if you're not at the stop. When you are there waiting it will be late. There's always one guy who knows the bus is leaving in 2 minutes, but goes to smoke a whole cigarette and is surprised when it rolls out without him.
here in chicago the bus drivers stop driving to take a smoke break
@@yourbootyholeisyourbeautyhole or stop at a restaurant along their rout to pick up a call in order
I just turned captions on and this is what it interpreted ManlyBadassHero's intro as "hey everyone this is manly badass cereal" and I'm dying from laughter
I can't believe four minutes of this five minute game are literally spent doing nothing.
You’re never so aware of how subjectively we experience the passing of time than when you have to wait an entire 3 minutes and 45 of real time for a bus to arrive in a video game.
I lmao-ed when manly started to panick and tried to chase after the bus
The true horror is doing anything publically at night without a buddy to be with you, especially in some states
As a person who lives in a very dangerous place and who left work late at night but still needs to take the bus to get home I can say with certainty that this game is very accurate
Nothing is better than the horror of reality yay ✨
How are you doing?
@@vienna-mf8xb I've never been mugged so far so I think I'm fine

There's nothing scarier than waiting for a bus in Brazil
I just discovered your channel today and I love it!
I will be binge watching your videos lol
The worst ending is when you realize that the bus has been canceled
"Nothing will go wrong," You said. 😞
It’s 11 pm and I can’t sleep, waiting for a bus late at night feels like this sometimes

Nothing can go wrong when you hear Manly's voice even in real scary situations, you just know you are probably done for.
😂
Manly explaining the title and what the game is about is really mind blowing
I am so happy I stumbled upon your channel. It is quite enjoyable and I love that you play all the strange horror games. Have a wonderful day/night! 💙
I felt a sense of Deja vu midway watching this
Doesn't even need to be night to make waiting for a bus a horror story.
"do you have anything a little harder than beer?" A man after my own heart
I dunno, the stranger probably killed the player because we, as a player, are creepy AF. We walk in front of him, stare at him, keep looking at him, stranger is like, "better him than me!" Lol
This game could use a bit of environment sounds
manly coming through for the night owls again . good shit.
I don’t watch gaming videos anymore, but manly has been an absolute blast to watch all the obscure horror games, Thank you!!!!
"You don't bother me, I don't bother you"
*immediately starts bothering him*
Oh, I didn't know there was a secret ending! So cool
everyone saying it's terrifying but you know the bus is going to arrive in 4 minutes. imagine living in a place where you get to the bus stop and you have no idea when it's coming. and it's midnight
1:34 Hey when ya gotta go ya gotta go.😄
This game could also be called "Small Talk - The Introverts nightmare"
Enjoying my dinner while watching some Manly. Tonight is good night.
hey Manly!! good day! thank you for another upload! >
As a bus driver I find this incredibly offensive, we go to great length to arrive late!
2:01 Manly’s small talk is top notch. Us shy people shake in our boots.
I really love that i have found your channel you make such good videos and i love every single one of them keep up the good work and cant wait for more
Seeing this gives me the same creepy nervous vibes as when you start the Berlin mission in Hitman 3 and the streets are empty and the gas station's abandoned.
1:53 It’s so funny how Manly is having this conversation with the guy ignoring him!
Why do I like pixelated games so much
The killer could have just pulled him right into the grass and strangled the player. Didn't even have to walk into view, just hide in the grass and pull him in. Or just rush him and slam the player's head right on the pole while he's looking at the bus schedule.
Captions opened with, "This is Manly Badass cereal" and I can't get over that.
Thankyou for uploading on the fourth of July, today has been a rough day 😞 but I hope you had a nice day and everyone reading this comment as well

At least the bus was on time.
sometimes realistic horror hits the hardest
Definitely need to play this at a bus stop waiting on a bus
I have to catch buses to get around & this is why I refuse to work at night.
This just terrified me instantly and I couldn't finish it lol
And this is why I’m glad that I take the bus during the daytime
Can't wait for the Blumhouse straight-to-bootleg movie adaptation starring b-list actors everyone recognizes but don't know the names of.
games like these give me chills since theyre also based from real life, amazing gameplay though!
It's always nice to see when Manly publishes a new video. It's like a rush of serotonin
I've been missing out on the most recent manly videos, I need to sit down one day and have a manly marathon and watch all his recent stuff LOL
OMG, every time you walked by the trash can I thought there was a mosquito in my room
Hey manly man, I wouldn't mind taking the last bus home with you *tiktok lip bite *
I worked for my city's transit system for about 5 years. How is this game any different from reality? ....oh wait, the bushes.
I'm excited for this game because it is an experience I do not have. The last bus home is like 7pm or something stupid, lol.
So in my city, I'd be 99% set for the first ending because the buses don't arrive more often than not lol
You really are my comfort RUclipsr. Thank you, Manly
Then you realize you can't pay the bus fee
I think this game could of been better if it was more drawn out or was kind of like driving with strangers where multiple people come and go
Love it when I finally see your post's, thanks hun always makes my day a little dimmer. (I hate it bright) 🌓🥵🥵🥵
I'm with you there, roll on Autumn lol! 🍂
ive had my own experience like this, it was a taxi tho
my house is far away and secluded and i was going down in a taxi from my teacher's place... Just waiting for a taxi was horrible.. all alone in the dark, what made things worse was that the Taxi driver was so creepy when i got on...
RUclips: Hi, everyone, welcome to ManlyBadasshero
Subtitle: Hi, everyone, welcome to manly badass cereal
This reminds me when I was young and had to wait for the bus in shitty places at night... Also of that super frustrating SpongeBob episode 😅
I like to imagine that this how Manly actually talks to strangers waiting at a bus stop
3:50 looks like you never waited for a bus in your entire life..... you have to make visual contact with the driver, get close to the door and let him know you want to hop in with your body language, if you stay away from the bus, the driver will assume you are not waiting for the bus
Zed Technician made a new game called “The Vermander Curse”
Quite early great timing!
