Hey IGP, I'm glad you liked the second chapter, amazing editing as always, I loved the way you did the intro and the notes. Thanks for playing! Btw, I'm working on the slide system, which will probably be released as an update. 👀
I'd change the SCP-173 model to something original you'd make up. The "peanut" model you used is copyrighted and therefore if any media with it is getting money or it's paid, then it is technically illegal. That is why all games except the free to play SCP: Containment Breach changed the model.
Audio/visual stimuli without a clear cause... We could call it "skittish". Though IGP's ability to persevere despite jumping at so many shadows is commendable.
@@eyeoftomato9547 Aye. We may be describing different phases though. I mean it in that he startles easily, while it sounds like your describing his reaction itself.
"We are going to use the backrooms to accomodate homless people so they can live with dignity. Also, we are putting SCPs there without any aux energy backup."
@@nicolasaraya3701 This was my guess as well, considering how SCP 914 works, yeah. I forgot about that SCP entirely, but figured it was only possible due to something of an scp,
I love how the tree note literally says “in the dark, the flickering lights will lead you back here” and he just forgets that completely. Everything went in one ear and out the other.
@@BoogieManSince1977 you get used to it after a few times, when i first started watching IGP he pissed me off whit his lack of concern for his flashlight battery, until it just became part of why i watch him
The concept of using the backrooms to do things like house the homeless and for food distribution infrastructure is insane, and not in a good way. But humans using something they don’t understand in a way that could lead to catastrophe is the most believable thing I can think of.
This game has some of the best contrasting levels of "holy shit this is terrifying" to "holy shit this is beautiful" I've ever seen in a Backrooms game, oh my lord. On another note THESE BOTS IN THE COMMENTS OH MY GOD DELIVER ME FROM BOTS Anyway, thanks for watching. And thank you for all the support. 3 MILLION people subscribing to this silly channel is still such a wild thing to me. I cannot thank you guys enough, or properly. Ever.
Absolutely LOVING these videos Indie! And hey let's go, 3million subs! Congrats Indie! Well deserved! I'm so happy for you dude! Can't wait for the next upload already 🤘
It did do something--if I remember right, there's a chair SCP. Something about always feeling like someone is watching over your shoulder, been awhile since I read SCP lore. However, that chair then followed him around the rest of the game. It even brought a rope at one point.
@@IsaacAnonymous ohh, yeah there’s so many SCP’s out there that i’m not familiar with all of them, and didn’t know there was one apparently. If they wanted to make the chairs dangerous in some way in this game, it could’ve been utilized more bc I didn’t notice anything off about them
@@IsaacAnonymousit's was a chair in the shape of reclining women and would teleport behind someone that needed somewhere to sit. But then the GOC Assholes got a hold of it and put it through a wood chipper...gave it intense PTSD so now the foundation uses it as mulch so it can feel helpful while not triggering any violent reactions from it.
27:56 I jumped so hard! This is probably the game where scp 173 is the scariest. The slow moving in the darkness using only a flashlight and some flickering lights is just pure horror gold
Audio engineer here. The only advantage I can see in the difference between the way EMF could interfere with magnetic tape vs. a SSD is that EMF can interfere with analogue tape by degrees, meaning that as the interference waxes and wanes, the ratio of noise to signal goes up and comes down, and it’s possible that upon recovery of the tape, interference can be attenuated by editing , using denoising software like iZotope RX. With digital devices, on the other hand, signals are either on or off, 0 or 1. Therefore, once the interference reaches the threshold voltage needed to overload [insert first component to fail here…probably a digital sensor behind the lens] the sensor-and therefore the signal-will cut out entirely rather than by degrees. More than likely, if the EMF is strong enough to blow out one sensors, it’s sufficiently strong enough to blow out a few thousand-and there goes your whole image. Now, because both the analogue camcorder and the SSD camcorder rely on digital sensors to transform visual data into electronic data recordable to either medium, the VISUAL data is subject to the same problem on both systems. The major difference comes in on the audio recordings, as the process of recording audio to analogue tape requires no digital components at all. That’s where my theory of progressive vs. total deterioration really makes a difference. What do you guys think? How am I handling retirement? 😂
@@El_Negro2003in digital data, it’s like a ledge. If you push the ‘bit’ up to the edge, but not over, it’s fine. If you reach the threshold, the edge, and over, you’ve lost the bit. But with analog data, it’s less a ledge and more a slope. You can be anywhere on the slope, but as it’s a slope you’re more vulnerable to sliding around it. On the other hand, it’s easier to tell where you were before because the interference generally has a pattern, and can be reversed. But with digital data, if you’ve lost the bit, you’ve lost the bit. Do note this is very general and somewhat wrong to make the analogy work, but the concept is right. Edit: “…concept _it_ right.” it -> is
And with the SCP Foundation being advanced enough to literally have acid that Can contain a being with god-like regenerational and adaptational abilities (it literally adapts to other anomalous entities), i’d Think they would have the tech to ENTIRELY have good reasons for it and recover EVERYTHING.
If you record 2 copies, a negative and a positive signal, the interference will shift both of them in one direction, so if you record -10 and +10 and interference shifts it by +5, you end up with -5 and +15, but because you know the recorded signals are supposed to be equal, you can negate the interference. I believe this is how modern wireless devices work, like headphones and radio
53:10 This also makes me want to, no, *need* to cry. İt's like you have had enough, you are tired, and finally, in this hellish place, you found "peace" and were finally be able relax, even if it can *kill* you.
Imagine going through ALL that, then the back rooms just giving you a place that’s safe where you can just….sit down and decompress. Would make any sane person want to cry! 😊
Regarding 8:32, you definitely can develop PTSD regarding smells! I do biohazard cleanup (among other restoration and mitigation) and I will never be able to forget the dank smell of decaying blood, flesh, and brains. Whenever I smell rot, or a deep dankness memories of my violent crime scene and s*icide cleanup work come flooding back.
Im still just so grateful for the way you edit your voice's reverbs depending on when you enter a room, then go outside, literally every rooms or area seems to have its own tweaked reverberation, and well, thats just a great touch IGP 😊
You know, seeing Indie going back to check on Peanut multiple times made me realize and kinda laugh at the realization that the SCPs are probably hostile for a reason. It's like my mother checking my room several times to make sure I'm not doing anything I shouldn't lol
I used to be so angry at my mom for doing that lol. She expected me to take after my dad and do a bunch of not-so-good-for-society things at the same age but would honestly get upset at finding me just reading a book or gaming in my room alone/online with friends 😂 one time she even told me “why aren’t you out and about doing wild stuff with your friends like everyone else your age??” I’m like, “do you WANT me to have a kid at 17? Do you really WANT your kid doing drugs and drinking at 17? Or is me reading a book really that bad that you want to call me out on it??” Her response? “Shut up, don’t talk to me that way.” 😂😂😂😂
The stairs with the mirror part were probably the scariest part for me, the build up was INSANE, and the breathing sound from the closet gets me on the edge of my seat, waiting for the jumpscare to happen
Infos from wiki says the average length is 200cm and can growth to 450cm by report. And can weight up to 200kg. Which also a living fossil for surviving more than one hundred million years without changing. And because of curiosity, they will approach things that attract their attention. But it’ll also take you down by accident very easily… And about consumable, it’s eatable but under government control now.
I thought it was a sturgeon. It seems right to put them in the backrooms because they are endangered due to them being over fished because they made good caviar
@@ethenhilbink221 Yeah, they have a similar shape, but the head and tail are dead giveaways. Arapaima also suffer from overfishing, though more for their meat than for their eggs.
Indie, we'd never tell you to shut up about enjoying a game like this. That area with the ocean, the poetic nature and the way to music hit so deep actually had me in tears of awe too. You aren't alone, brother. Also, the segment of you thanking us for our support, you're genuinely welcome. I've been here for years man, it's been a hell of a ride, and I can't wait to see where this trail leads all of us. Amazing content as always.
Waiting around to start this pulled pork at midnight for an all night cook, wondering how I'm going to stay awake until then, and BAM, this beauty shows up!
This is what is known as "synchronicity"(look it up). Its a part of chaos theory, religious beliefs(miracles) and the fabric of the universe. Im not kidding either. You can(i jave for almost 2 decades) test this yourself. Everyone has examples. Here's an example. Ever been sitting on your porch waiting for someone to pick you up and they keep telling you theyre almost there but never show, so you go inside and sit down and the moment youve turned the tv on theyre outside? Thats synchronicty. When you give up totally thats when the "miracle" happens. In say christianity, "giving yourself to christ" is the metaphor they use to explain this part of the chaos theory. Sorry, i read a book about this phenomenon when i was like 14, im 34 now and ive forced things to happen all throughout adulthood by basically needing something to happen and then immediately give up on it and then it happens. Ive done it with gfs, jobs, work, even just Ubers. Think im tripping, try it out sometime, itll fuck your brain up for a while. Also, try and learn to lucid dream, its super helpful if you have traumas or just wanna stop having random nightmares
Those water-only levels having a tsunami failure state or time limit expiration would be interesting. You'd be wandering around seeing nothing on the horizon but slowly hearing a roaring noise getting closer until the wave gets close enough to make it obvious that you have a time limit before a wall of water swallows you and the entire level.
Maaan, I've been watching you for a few years and one of my favorite parts about how you play these games and edit your videos is how cinematic everything is. You are the only RUclipsr that I've watched that puts in that much effort to get viewers as immersed into a game as you are. Keep up the amazing work.
33:17 I really have to mention that i love how IGP is just appretiate things in games this way, "Just letting the game breathe". I love when people appretiate things this way too and just linger around, taking the atmosphere in. Of course not every game is as good designed to really do that but being an attentive player and noticing a moment like this it's just... IDK, i am not good at putting my minds into words so i am not sure if i can elaborate my point here but anyway, Game is amazing, IGP is amazing, the video is amazing. That's what i wanna say in the end xD
Yo, the mirrors on the stairs were super well done. That was one of the most unique and well done horror things I've seen in awhile. Whoever made that should be proud of themselves.
54:50 No thank you IGP. You had me hooked in the face cam days when you played that underwater diving horror game. Can't remember the name, but nonetheless since then, you helped put a smile on my face instead of pure utter despair. Thanks man for every video, every laugh, and for all the times I felt my heart at my butthole scared shitless.
It looks a lot like the original. Like, from the feel of it, I know there is stuff missing. The video game feeling of the Lumon building (those hallways..) probably made that relatively easy.
I’m 3 months late to this video and your comment but I was searching the comment section for someone, ANYONE who recognized the reference. Season 2 is coming!! :D
@@David-el8xx I can see the vision, however I personally disagree simply because I think the backrooms is best experienced as liminal / atmospheric horror. It does a great job at being unnerving on its own and I feel that adding guns and such would take that away, even with monsters / entities. I like figuring out how to survive something without having to shoot it down. Some things simply can’t be killed and not everything needs to be. This is just my personal preference though, no hate to you :)
I'm surprised the backrooms haven't been given an SCP number and such. I suspect it's due to dueling fandoms or something. Neither is copyrighted as far as I know.
@Herebedragons_25 I could be wrong about this but I believe IGP and Icy tried a Backrooms game with a similar concept (I can’t remember if it was also SCP or not) but they barely lasted a few minutes because they just weren’t into it. Sadly, that collab vid, among many, are no longer available, for reasons.
@@HitodamaKyrie i know SCP is under creative commons, i’m not sure about backrooms but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is as well. The backrooms itself isn’t an SCP so it could just be as simple as that. They make for one hell of a good crossover though, imo
Backrooms and SCP together, if done right, are like milk and cookies. It's rare to find a well done mash up. This game was quite well done, even just the visuals and audio/music.
When you found the first note at 4:15 at the end of it said “Read the message under the Tree.” I instantly thought of the Serpent’s Hand because their logo is of a serpent that is shaped in a hand like tree with leaves. They also have access to a inter dimensional library. Love the nod to the other organisations in the SCP universe. Also congrats on three mill IGP, you deserve it and more in my opinion. Keep up the good work and try to not suffer a heart attack for us.
OK but for real, if the SCP Foundation discovered the Backrooms, I could see them chucking all of the Keter shit in there and calling that one big containment procedure. After they can confirm that the damn things can't just no clip back into reality. EDIT: And now i'm just mentally seeing them prodding SCP-682 towards the entrance to the Backroom shouting "Get in there, you fucking lizard!"
It'd make an interesting story, especially since I can't imagine 682 or 096 actually being trapped forever. 682 might be content for a bit until it remembers that people still exist and learns how to no-clip on a whim. 096 should be safe as long as no photographs are around.
it will be effective coz, any and every thing or being that is put into the backrooms will lose its anomalous or super ability. Which means, if Supe enters backrooms, he will just be a normal guy. Powerless.
Man, as an early 2000s baby, this reminds me a lot of what my childhood felt like. The music, the visuals, the colors, everything minus the scary things of course. So wild.
It’s so weird I used to have dreams in places like this, like weird memories half forgotten. Or is that just the exact feeling that liminal spaces are supposed to elicit?
5:53 They just wanted to show you how chair-itable they can be with chairs, IGP. 13:25 The droning noise you're probably thinking of is the similar to, if not the same one, whats used in most of the Silent Hill atmosphere soundtrack stuff. And its great to see how far youve come IGP, I have been watching for a few years and played some games after watching you and Icy play/scream in them lol. It is a shame that Icy isnt around at the moment but my Dad told me before he passed away that he thought the meaning of life was in its moments and the beauty of those moments cant truly be realized or appreciated until those moments have passed. I think he means that even if you are sad its gone, that just shows how genuinely appreciative of how happy those moments made you feel and maybe if you lived in those moments forever, you would probably never truly appreciate it for how much it really means.
3M is a small number IMO for you dude, you deserve more, and I am sure with time it will be way more! Your community has a lot to thank you for too. You keep us company and make working or doing homework more tolerable, help us relax after a long day or simply cheer us up with the humor in the videos when we are feeling down (like it has been the case for me many days), so congratulations, you really deserve this and more!
I remember when I went to an indoor car show and I lost my wallet, I had to walk down to the lost and found, the hallway leading up to the other section of the building was really quiet full of lights and doors, it felt a lot like the backrooms and it gave me the chills. The carpet in the hallway had this hexagonal pattern that made it feel even creepier.
I always remember in college there was this one part of this building that was *literally* a carbon copy of the back rooms, like there was this one corridor that was completely bare with fluorescent lighting and everything. And plus it was always deserted. Creeped me out every time I had to walk through it
This game well above my expectations and to top it off, it looks absolutely amazing. I wish for RUclips to fix their bitrate limits because there are so many opportunities for better cinematic gameplays like this.
In all honesty, I love the insights and comments you have when it comes to games like this. Whether it's about the design of the game, the soundtrack and ambiance, or even something that the game reminds you of or invokes from you. It's interesting to hear what you think! Also, I'm not going to lie, I loved this game, and it's sound design. On a side note, I love watching your content, and you are honestly one of those "hidden gem" content creators. Congrats on the 3 million subscribers and I can't wait to see what the future holds for you! :]
39:21 Idk about anyone else, but this gives me vibes of there being a tornado in the evening, and the power’s gone out so you just watch from inside the building you’re currently stuck in. Idk why that’s where my mind went, as I’ve never actually personally been in a tornado that makes the sky look green, and I’ve never been anywhere other than my own home-I guess I just kinda combined it with the strange feeling I’ve always gotten being out at a store late in the evening, when there are few people and the street lights are on but it’s not quiet dark yet… I’ve always had a strange sense of nostalgic loneliness, from that setting. Like I could just sit and dissociate withe absolute ease because I feel so oddly detached from the world. Anyways, so far this has been my absolute favorite imagery from this game. Really hits me in an uncanny, unsettlingly familiar sweet spot.
I just LOVE your take on it, because I absolutely understand what you're talking about. That feeling where it's just about to go dark, and you're walking with a few people here and there. Just strangers walking past each other, something about that is lonely in a way that makes you peaceful.
If the yellow rooms are supposed to be a safe homeless shelter then why are they storing SCP-173 in it? So that there's lots of eyes to slow it down in the event of a power failure?
My assumption is that the specific chamber and door for 173 no clipped maybe? Because that chamber had no connecting concrete walls and it was really small for 173
@@IGPPossible theory. Like you said stuff could possibly clip in wether it’s hostile or not and they might’ve put it in containment there as it could be rather difficult to move something such as that scp to another backrooms level.
The group claiming to be providing shelter for the homeless is presumably from a different time, as their name suggested. The SCP foundation is a different group that was *apparently* storing an SCP in there.
18:30, when the music starts up again. That music really captures the essence of what the Backrooms is; an endless, surreal, isolating, landscape. You can just hear the beautiful endlessness in that music.
I wasn't sure until you hit the poolrooms but the sound design is phenomenal. It's not just sfx and music, it's auditory emotion. It's putting out vibes at just the right frequencies to resonate your soul and make it move whichever way the situation calls for.
ok I think this is actually the scariest one of these I've seen so far, coming from an avid viewer, someone familiar with all the lore and as someone who loves to play horror games, alone, in the dark at like 2am. I like being creeped out and its hard to get me there these days. the effects in this game are top notch and deliver all round. damn. I'm gonna make someone else play this and enjoy watching them lose it.
RE: The PTSD from smells, I feel your pain. I live in FL and lost power for like three weeks after Ian... unfortunately I wasn't at my place during the hurricane and couldn't make it back for a few days (downed trees, etc.). When I opened the fridge door, I cannot explain to you the scent that came out of it... and maggots, too. Lots of maggots. Moral of the story, just through the whole damn refrigerator/freezer away. The smell never fully comes out, anyway, neither from the fridge or my mind. I'll never forget it.
Dude. This game is amazing, the juxtaposition between the scary sections with the heavy drone and the more subliminal sections with the new age-y sound scaping is actually incredible, and the imagery in those sections too is breathtaking, especially that golden lighting in the ocean part. And props to you for the smooth editing too, the way you did it really holds that immersion. Genuinely loved every part of the play through.
8:35 "idk if you can develop ptsd from a smell" absolutely, i took agriculture in highschool and the smell of the chicken coop still haunts me in every rotisserie bird i've come across
8:37 After I encountered an in situ corpse for the first time, I would flashback to the scene whenever I smelled something even vaguely rotting for about a year or so after. Don't think it's the smell that causes a traumatic reaction, but it can definitely trigger memories of one. And cleaning up decomposing meat could definitely be one.
I agree. I've never encountered a decomposing person, but I have had animals crawl into the walls of our house to die. It's a distinct smell, and i remember when first I smelled it (I was a child at the time) and how it really stuck with me. I could recognize it fairly easy for a long time (and still can). I can imagine it's similar for other situations and especially depending on where/how you encounter the smell it might trigger unpleasant memories/trauma.
@floram9481 It's interesting how quickly the smell of death begins to occur. In this instance, the deceased had passed not even a day before, it was either the night of or the morning of me discovering the deceased. But it was definitely strong and definitely unique and definitely not something I want to smell again. I'd go so far so as to say the year old, improperly stored 15 or so gallons of compost I had to clean up stuck with me far less than the smell of half a day old death.
@@floram9481 honestly it's a smell you NEVER forget and get a hint of when you think ab it, but it literally smells like death and in some cases the smell can stick to objects. God the smell of human decomposition especially if they weren't found for awhile and it's seeped into the carpet.... horrendously vomit inducing.... I've seen "cleanup"/renovations where you can see the outline and the literal liquid goop of the person where they laid in rest and if you don't puke from that you're stronger than me and that's saying something from experiencing dead animals on the side of the road in trashbags with green skin to the most moldy disgusting rotten (insert trash/food here) but HUMAN decomposition is by far the worst and don't wish anyone to suffer the stench 🙏💯
My friends and I found a dead body on a private beach we would always frequent every week in the summer when I was in 7th grade. The smell of the week old body just off the path in the woods next to the sand will literally NEVER leave me. Best part is our parents thought we were lying to get a ride home instead of walking but changed tunes when they saw all the police cars and fire trucks at the entrance to the cove we hung out at 😂😂
i was in a junkyard looking for parts a few years ago and walked by a van. a smell hit me, and i instantly knew what it as, even though id never smelled a dead human before. like animals, but sweet almost.
Your deep, emotional appreciation of games as an artform is so sincere and always wonderful to see. Not as many people take a step back and breathe in the craft of a particular space someone likely spent hours on. I'm glad you do.
this is genuinely some of the most atmospheric music i have heard in ANY game, you can just tell how much work the devs have put into every aspect of every second of every piece of music in this game
8:40 You can have PTSD from any type of sensory effect, even touching something can cause it... God! Imagine not being able to touch something because of PTSD... :/
The wall in the beginning you walked behind and it changed your atmosphere. As a kid I would always spook myself in grocery stores because I thought if I didn’t walk down the same way I went in a certain direction, the area would change or I’d be moved somewhere else. Crazy how the imagination of a kid can be used as a horror concept 😂 if I had to be afraid of it as a kid, now you have to consider with me, what if we just clipped🤷♂️ hope everyone has a good day!
I worked at a restaurant where we closed over holiday and the coolers went out. The smell from the 70+ pounds of meat rotting was the worst. When I tried to lift the trash bag it tore and spilled all over the floor
I got several stories up this alley but the one that's most similar is that one year during the late 1990s to early 2000s while going to a summer program for kids up to 6th grade based out of the old high school, there would be Daily trips to the local public pool that's beyond the old high school's sports fields and directly across the street from one of the district's elementary schools and "essentially" next to the current high school. About a month or before the next school year began and either within the few days immediately after or that very day, that elementary's summer school ended; everything was shut down, locked up, and the remaining staff left for their own 2-3 weeks of summer vacation before they had to come back and prepare for the next school year. But either someone made a mistake or a malfunction in the electrical/power systems (at least to the cafeteria and kitchen) occurred DURING A NOTICEABLY HOTTER THAN AVERAGE SUMMER that year and, on top of that, the school still had some leftover foodstuffs in stock from the breakfast and lunches from the summer school and had already taken possession of all their inventory for their breakfasts and lunches for the first month and possibly up to at least part of the second month for the next school year. When the staff got back, THEY HAD LOST EVERYTHING IN THEIR ENTIRE INVENTORY, NOT JUST THE PERISHABLES AND THE ENTIRE KITCHEN AND CAFETERIA AREA WAS A LITERAL INTOLERABLE BIOHAZARD! It took over a week of "scorched earth"-level of cleaning, sanitizing, and decontamination after they cleaned out the freezers and refrigerators. Additionally, they discovered that they had to replace them as they couldn't cleanse and sanitize them from the ingrained putrefaction before the first day of school started, let alone let alone within an acceptable period of time into the school year or even with just any certainty or to a noticeable and acceptable degree. While this was going on, instead of using their dumpster, they absconded with nearby dumpster that belonged to the public pool and the little league field which they then wheeled back across the street next to the pool just on the other side of the fence from the kiddie pool again everyday after "hitting their daily limit" cleaning of only 1 or 2 several-hour "shifts" per day it was so bad. And when we walked to the pool every weekday, we had to walk right by/past that dumpster well within "its zone of influence" which also easily encompassed a third to half of the kiddie pool area. The magnitude of its odor was not only extreme but possessed every possible element/component that it possibly could. It was so bad that the local seagulls viewed what was in the dumpster and wanted its so badly that continuously flew in a holding pattern high, directly above the dumpster but its "aura" was still so overwhelming that it repelled them from approaching it too closely and this was the state of things there for almost a month at least with each and every component to that persistent haze of its odor was overpowering on its own but the sharp, pungent, and "sickeningly-sweetish" element it had would cause violent, aggressive fits of convulsive choking, gaging, and extreme lightheadedness with that would disable and almost incapacitate/uncon you with just a whiff.
C-137 is a rick and Morty reference lol - its on a test tube filled with what looks exactly like the portal fluid from the show. C-137 is the earth dimension that the characters we watch are at
I’m so glad someone else knew it. I remember it from the SCP Archives since I remembered the ending. Chills, especially when the lights began to warp. Was waiting for the crying/moaning and a white face. Nearly thought IGP was going to have a chase scene lol
the switch up between horror and relaxing beauty is insane in this one! I think that astronaut at the end was Josh's friend, maybe SCP-1233? though I don't know if that's a good or bad thing for them to show up lol
at the 1hr and 29 minute mark he asks, "What could it be?" and for anyone who grew up in american 90's, almost instantly zaboomafoo's "What could it be, this animal that I can see? Won't you help me solve this mystery!" Popped into my head lol ... I need to grow up >.>
I love this, I know the back rooms is supposed to be an office like anomaly but I also get barren old supermarket vibes. 34:57 Cesium-137 a radioactive isotope
@@Art_for_Mage i think its more literal than a rick & morty reference. I mean, ricks code name C-137 was in itself a reference to the nuclear isotope. As it is an unstable compound, gradually decaying in its enviroment, its an analogy of rick himself. He is unstable, cancerous and harmful to most people he is around, yet he has so much potential for good. I personally doubt the developer would've made something as simple as a Rick & Morty reference here. Im not saying its not possible, but considering the drama surrounding the shows creator & how quickly it kind of died off? I would have to guess its a bit more of literal.
I think it might be a rick and morty reference. I'm not a watcher of the show but I know theres some form of portal fluid that rick uses in his portal gun thing and im pretty sure its a green glowing fluid so itd make sense
@@brutzie i think it is specifically because of the fact that its a neon green fluid in a flask. If i remember correctly (and i might not) green fluid is an essential component of his portal gun thingy
Those suckers are generally docile, but agitate them and they turn into piscine, missile-launched battering rams. Jeremy Wade found that one the hard way! 😖
Dude.... Agreed. I don't miss a video and feel the need to remind him how much I appreciate the extra work he puts in for sound each time. Even if it's simple for him, it's something he does, and it makes such a huge difference for immersion. For me anyway. 😁 The sound of his voice is even relaxing and horror is mah jam! All around solid content!! 🖤🤍
Just started this one. Hopefully it'll be better than the first one. I get that people can be easily frightened just by liminal spaces because of what could be there, hints of something, etc. They do nothing for me. Even thinking of what could be on the spaces doesn't instill enough fear to keep me watching it. I'm not saying there have to be jumpscares all over the place but there needs to be something more than just "might be a monster" or "eerie sound might hint at creature". So yeah, I'm hoping this will be worth the watch 🤞😁 Edit: Finished it. So worth it. So much better and more engaging than the first. Can't wait for the next one 😃
They are pretty calming to me and I wish that reality had places like seen in this game. I watch videos like this to just try to get an escape from reality.
31:41 Please don't hurt me like this lmfao "Just keep an eye out for anything in the sky" So she knew where he was but pretended she didn't just to keep him going? Also, this whole thing wasn't even remotely about finding his brother lmao They found his brother a while ago and just made him go in because he now had motivation to find his brother (and thus motivation to keep going) >>
That fakeout at the end was so satisfying. Nice to see an SCP Foundation that ACTUALLY cares for its test subjects (Even though that was probably just because he wasn´t a D-Class).
The quality of this is so amazing, and the amount of content that this chapter provided is insane! I loved watching this and I look forward to new updates.

I'd change the SCP-173 model to something original you'd make up. The "peanut" model you used is copyrighted and therefore if any media with it is getting money or it's paid, then it is technically illegal. That is why all games except the free to play SCP: Containment Breach changed the model.

I don’t understand 😅
Edit: “…concept _it_ right.” it -> is
Me with my stack of D90’s and an 20yr old Walkman pretending I know what any of this means: *nod nod*

Now all they need to do is add guns and the ability to kill some of those monsters and it would be the best version of the backrooms games
@@David-el8xx I can see the vision, however I personally disagree simply because I think the backrooms is best experienced as liminal / atmospheric horror.
Exactly! Nice to know I’m not the only one who gets that vibe. I love the way it can feel both strange and peaceful at the same time.

It for solving oveepopulation of the homeless there
The group claiming to be providing shelter for the homeless is presumably from a different time, as their name suggested. The SCP foundation is a different group that was *apparently* storing an SCP in there.

That music really captures the essence of what the Backrooms is; an endless, surreal, isolating, landscape. You can just hear the beautiful endlessness in that music.

Dude I feel this, I boiled some eggs that had gone bad and only noticed once I started peeling, now every egg I boil has a rotten smell to them.
46:30 That was the first jump scare that actually got me flinching in a long time. I love these backroom videos you make plz keep making more
Your deep, emotional appreciation of games as an artform is so sincere and always wonderful to see.

Didn't see a mention of it, so Pizza Planet truck spotted. You can only see it for half a second
I saw that too!
Good catch!
I don't know if the dev is an architect but the luxury pools part is outstanding. I love all the shapes and the textures.
30:46 the water looks just like Barbasol. I always had a crush on that stuff because of exactly the feeling I got when I got a good look at that pool.
Gotta wonder what Jennifer is doing during those long stretches of time when you're not talking with her using the "interdimensional walkie-talkie".

I don’t know why, but this game’s version of the stairwell SCP was absolutely horrifyingly fascinating to me.
54:21 Lowkey teared up. So proud of you man 😢
Finger shadows poking out of the edge of the frame at 45:28 is a nice touch.
I worked at a restaurant where we closed over holiday and the coolers went out. The smell from the 70+ pounds of meat rotting was the worst. When I tried to lift the trash bag it tore and spilled all over the floor
worst nightmare huh?
I would have quit lol fuck that nonsense
Broooo just brooo. I feel for ya. 😢
I feel your pain man. That kind of thing is always annoying
C-137 is the earth dimension that the characters we watch are at
44:09 That looks like SCP-087. Guess that means that it can manifest in the Backrooms aswell. That means 087 is also interdimensional
I’m so glad someone else knew it. I remember it from the SCP Archives since I remembered the ending. Chills, especially when the lights began to warp. Was waiting for the crying/moaning and a white face. Nearly thought IGP was going to have a chase scene lol
This feels like the best backroom based game. The mix out of horror and peaceful atmosphere is just amazing! Great video, keep them coming! 👍🏻
the switch up between horror and relaxing beauty is insane in this one! I think that astronaut at the end was Josh's friend, maybe SCP-1233? though I don't know if that's a good or bad thing for them to show up lol

I like the idea that SCP-173 has decayed by spending time in The Backrooms.
30:24 please 🙏 ask the dev’s to release a instrumental soundtrack of this jam 😩 this shit was straight fire 🔥
29:37 "Holy Christ... Hey, controller!" Dude, these videos make me cry and laugh again and again
I love this, I know the back rooms is supposed to be an office like anomaly but I also get barren old supermarket vibes. 34:57 Cesium-137 a radioactive isotope
C-137 could also be a Rick and Morty reference as the main character is Rick C-137
Im not saying its not possible,
but considering the drama surrounding the shows creator & how quickly it kind of died off?
I would have to guess its a bit more of literal.
I think it might be a rick and morty reference. I'm not a watcher of the show but I know theres some form of portal fluid that rick uses in his portal gun thing and im pretty sure its a green glowing fluid so itd make sense
@@brutzie i think it is specifically because of the fact that its a neon green fluid in a flask. If i remember correctly (and i might not) green fluid is an essential component of his portal gun thingy
I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be Ricks portal fluid from Rick and Morty
35:47, the fish you called "barracuda looking thing" is Arapaima, IGP.
Those suckers are generally docile, but agitate them and they turn into piscine, missile-launched battering rams. Jeremy Wade found that one the hard way! 😖
Thank you Fish Guru Sir🫡
Loʻl fish expert that loves gaming and backroom scp lore as a different hobby then fish?

40:45 the gasp from the shopping cart scaring him was hilarious. I jumped too but.

IGP legit the best RUclipsr in existence
Dude....
Holy yapamoly
Glad you ended up enjoying it. We enjoy the vibe of horror/terror in these parts.

"Just keep an eye out for anything in the sky" So she knew where he was but pretended she didn't just to keep him going? IGP is right. The visual and audio design is priceless. It really makes you get absorbed into it
This is probably the most disturbing, and accurate, depiction of peanut I've ever seen.
I love the aesthetic of IGPs videos. There's no other RUclipsr that does it quite like this.
1:05:55 “colored, even!” It’s so nice to be portrayed in video games 😊
That fakeout at the end was so satisfying. Nice to see an SCP Foundation that ACTUALLY cares for its test subjects (Even though that was probably just because he wasn´t a D-Class).
The quality of this is so amazing, and the amount of content that this chapter provided is insane! I loved watching this and I look forward to new updates.

This game really is beautiful though. I agree, just sitting there listening and watching the peaceful areas would be amazing…
@57:00 This is the best backrooms level to be stuck in. The Serene Rooms hehe
I would never wanna escape this level as long as I have what I need to survive.
The backrooms and Scp is my favorite horror series and creepy pasta so this will definitely be a banger
I love taking an extremely look stroll when there is an extremely thick layer of fog outside. It makes hours feel like minutes. This one where the fog was so thick that I could wave my hands back and forth a couple seconds and it would be extremely moist and almost wet.
