Great run down on the DWX. On the newer optics ready model I bought this year it did share screws with the shadow 2 so that was interesting. I picked up a couple of the Floyd’s magwells and liked those a bit more than the Lok. The alignment is little better. It also allows use of the stock mag bases. I’m also happy that we are seeing small parts show up on the market. Not sure if you swapped in a new shoe but the ones from czusa store come with a tapped hole for overtravel so that is something to look at. Thank a bunch for sending the gun to Big dog steel. That’s the holster I run and it’s fantastic. Thanks again for the great video!
Thanks for the feedback brother! I will have to check out that shoe! I didn't know they offered one with an adjustment screw! thanks for letting me know! and of course thanks for watching my friend!
@@ATexCate Pre and over travel can be adjusted. The pre travel is set with tabs you can bend. On the over travel you’ll have to source a set screw it’s either 3mm or 4-40 thread. Anyway you can get it pretty dialed in where you are only looking at .030-.050” of travel. The length of shoes are also there with short/medium/long. So that’s pretty nice. Just make sure you don’t accidentally order the compact shoe. Thats is a slippery slope getting parts for a gun you don’t own…yet Again great video🤘
Thank you for the video, great information, I did not realize the trigger is proprietary, good to see we have options. The one part I'm disappointed being proprietary to my DWX is the safety. I have to adjust my grip slightly or the safety will dig into my support hand (left palm). This wouldn't be a problem if I could swap out the safety for one that runs higher up on the frame when disengaged.
I remember asking a couple questions on your original review! Got my hands on one of the optic ready models as soon as they dropped. I know it says proprietary on the recoil springs but I run a 9 lb CZ 75 spring (both Wolff and Eemann Tech) and they work great.
Are you glad you bought it ? Should you of gotten a 2011? I already have sp01s, shadow2, tactical sport orange, tactical sport orange2 and couple of checkmates. My thought is limited optic my gear will be same i don’t know if i need a different insert for my DA racier xi. I already have them for checkmates and tso2.. I also have a ton of magazines both factory with and with out extensions and a stack of mbx both 140and 170mm. Plus grips and magwell from both lok and toni system???
Pouches are Same size as TSO magazines! But doesn’t fit in the shadow 2 pouches. I use the P10 pouches for both. I’m very glad I bought it. But would I also love a 2011 as well yes.
@@IMWALKINHEERE9739 its the shooter, who makes split times. not the pistol. your fastest bill drill time will come from the one YOU are more comfortable with. Splits aren't made by the firearms contrary to popular belief, your finger and skill does. I can do a sub 1.5 with either, or a Walther PDP, Glock 17, and even my CZ P01. if a trigger is heavier sure it could be seen as less easy. but a hair trigger, can eliminate your ability to control just the same at speed.
@@ATexCate Sorry unless yours is different the mag release is a hybrid. It's a cross between the main body being CZ and it uses a spring and locking pin like a 1911. Unfortunately the pin and spring are bigger than standard 1911 parts. It's my only complaint about my DWX like CZ the mag release is very stiff and having a bad right thumb I would like a little lighter spring.
I'm making a correction the pin to hold the spring has a smaller head but the spring is the same size and will work in the DWX. I had a few extra springs and tested them in the mag release and found one that doesn't take a lot of pressure to push and I can now release the mag without using my other hand or moving my hand on the grip to release the mag.
@@jmack2010 I did not buy a different mag release I simply changed the spring in it to a lighter one so it is easier to push because I have a week right thumb. The DWX has a different style mag release you CAN NOT USE A STANDARD CZ PART. The DWX mag release looks like a CZ part but uses the 1911 pin and spring design to secure it and function in the DWX unless your DWX is different from mine. Now if someone actually does come up with and extended version of it, I will definitely buy one. I hope this explains what information you need.
If you look through my shorts I do a lot of dry fire videos with the DWX if you want to see how it works in the hydra. But I run a S2 Hydra P and it very easily fits my S2, TSO, and DWX. I loosened the shell screws a hair in the beginning for some extra room and they’ve never walked out st all because of it. It’s done a great job for all 3 platforms. The 2011/prodigy Hydra P holster did not fit the DWX when I had one.
I own a second gen DWX that is precut for optics. You my friend are correct the customer service is terrible!! My second thought is on the optics plates . They make a pistol cut for optics but holy hell the RMR plate is never ever in stock . Mind blowing up ... a footprint that is extremely popular yet no plate.. 2k pistol no plates.. Just stupid . I enjoy shooting it but I dont shoot it all that much because god forbid a part fail .
I have not no. Tempted to throw an AC Design Spring/Follower (magazines designed for 24/25+1 and still make 141mm) in and try it out. If so I’ll reply again or do a small video
Where did you get the parts chart? Is the spring and follower that you're using the one for the shadow 2? To be clear... its rune tactical spring and follower in combination with the henning base pads? Do you get slide lock and how many rounds do you get in a magazine?
I'm considering this on the top of my list for USPSA LO... This hardware will be taking over my Canik Rival-S for next year's major matches. Thank you for the info.

Love it man keep the DWX CONTENT COMING! 😎👍
Will do my friend! Thanks for watching! Let me know what more you would like to see on it!
great video man! Loving the studio
Thanks brother! One day soon I’ll make it legit like yours!

Yeah I am really hoping too see a shielded safety come out for it in the future…

Nice man! You know what’s funny about that too… I run an Sig 320 spring.. 😂 which is a 1911 spring.
I should try my shadow springs next.

Yup you can change inserts. I didn’t want to mess with it. So I run magnets. It’s easier for me.
Which pistol of the ts2 orange and shadow 2 orange do you think has better split times for things like bill drills?

I just bought a DWX and would like an extended magazine release. Any clue which one fits it? Looks like a Tactical Sport.
It’s tac sport yes

How is the fit in the S2 hydra P for your DWX? Would you recommend buying the Hydra P for the Shadow 2 or for 2011 for DWX?

Have you had any success getting P10 mags to 24+1?
I have not no.

So the Shadow 2 Ghost Hydra P holster can be use for the DWX? No adjustment needed?
Yes. And no modification needed no. Will you have to loosen the screws a hair to your liking? Yeah probably.
Where did you get the parts chart? Is the spring and follower that you're using the one for the shadow 2? To be clear... its rune tactical spring and follower in combination with the henning base pads? Do you get slide lock and how many rounds do you get in a magazine?
Yes it’s the S2 rune tactical internals, for 23+1 on a Henning basepad.
Yes I get slide lock
Can we get different thumb safety’s
I wish.
Don’t ask me, ask the manufacturers! im hoping for some shielded safeties!
Is it compatible with 1911/2011 slide stop thumb rest?
It unfortunately is not no, proprietary and there are not any out yet.

Lots of better firearms for LO if you haven't purchased the DWX.
