Five years ago, when we were in hawaii vacation, we were looking for something special in Honolulu. Upon our search, we stumbled a bakery that sell “malasada”. It was morning, but there was already a line up. We said to ourselves it must be good if customers were already waiting for the fresh morning bake. Ohh yeah, it was a love at first bite. Outside was coated with sugar and inside was soft and warm….so yummy.😋
Love you guys. Your guys are so down to earth. I'm always hungry after watching your videos. Thanks for putting all the work and making it easy for your viewers 🙏
Thank you so much, somehow I missed this one! I lived in Kapahulu too, small kid time. Right down the street from Rainbow Drive-IN. I think Kanaina street. My sistah worked part time at Leonards. Waiola is my fav shave ice!
Facts! ICE MATTERS! Love your videos. I am born and raised in Honolulu, but moved out to California back in 85. I come home at least twice a year. Your videos makes me miss home, especially for the grinds!
Great video, I also like your Bloopers at the end, nice touch... I've visited Hawaii many times but didn't know of the local eats. So glad I found your channel, keep them coming, Aloha! ☮
I will be visiting Waikiki for the 3rd time in July! Thank you for all of your wonderful vlogs. I always try your recommendations when on the Island. I can't wait to spend two glorious weeks on your beautiful Island again.

Yeah the manapua situation is bad. My #1 go-to was always Libby's. Best steamed manapua with light fluffy bun, and I think they must ground up the char siu filling because there's no chunks of gristle and fat which I really hate. My #2 was Char Hung Sut, but they also closed. So, I haven't had a steamed manapua for a LONG time. Sing Cheong doesn't do it for me...too much bread. Now I only get baked ones from Royal Kitchen. If that place ever closes, we are doomed! Or at least I am.

Where can you get Coconut turnovers? My family always brought it back to us when they visited Oahu. There’s coconut, pineapple and mixed coconut pineapple. They’re kinda shaped like an empanada.
If/when you guys do another C Oahu eatery review, Got's to checkout 2 Mom's Kitchen, just down the block from Tanya's Grill & Pies. Went there after friends brought it up. They've only been there since just b4 pandemic, so was easy to overlook. Gonna have to go there again. Filling portion sizes w/out breaking your pocketbook(Especially w/present HI food $$$!)
I always thought it was funny that the mainland called it snow cones because it's nothing like a snow cone. When you hear snow cone you think of light fluffy snow and THAT is shave ice. So it's kind of misleading when they say snow cones.. 😂 Hawaii shave ice is more like eating a snow cone..🍧
@@AmandaFelixEats y’all gotta go to WickedHI and have their pizza or pita sandwiches and finish off with some snow puffies at Paalaa Kai next time! p.s. the slushies at WickedHI will surprise you, oh so good with the best sticky honey ever!!

Thanks for all the recommendations; super useful for our Hawaii trips!! Have you been to Aloha’s Kitchen? If so, what do you recommend getting there? I’ll be coming to Hawaii in 2 weeks and friends recommended that place for breakfast.
For change of pace breakfast eatery, checkout Liliha bakery. Their newest restaurant is in International Market Place. Another old skool local eatery is Sekiya's okazu-ya, roughly 5-10mins mauka(towards the mountains) from WKK, close to Leonard's Bakery

Thank you very much! They used to have a factory here in LA. But the family closed their factory and you now have to mail order them from HI or LV.
Where can you get Coconut turnovers? My family always brought it back to us when they visited Oahu. There’s coconut, pineapple and mixed coconut pineapple. They’re kinda shaped like an empanada.
Sounds like Napoleon's Bakery's Napple turnover, can be found at most Zippy's Restaurants/Napoleon's Bakery
@@harrymiram5562 thanks I’ll have to try those out. I found out where the turnovers I was talking are from. They’re from Leeward’s 😃
Agnes in Kailua for Malassadas!
Thank you for mentioning Honolulu Crack Seed❤️❤️
🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Y’all nailed it. Especially on the saimin.
Mahalo Kristina! 🤙

I loved this food review. Never seen so many musubis!! My favorite! Can't wait to vacation on Oahu again so I can load up on all these local grinds. Thank you for the great tips. Is Mitsuken still in business? That was one of my favorites beside Fukuya
Dunno if their store still up & running but Iyasume used to have store behind of old CVS/Keeaumoku, in strip mall on Makaloa
Mitsuken is still around! 👍
da top 10..cheeehuu 🤙🏾

Aiea Bowls Oxtail soup is killahs!
Oxtail soup is so ono🤤
And lemon crunch!
Thanks for all the recommendations; super useful for our Hawaii trips!! Have you been to Aloha’s Kitchen? If so, what do you recommend getting there? I’ll be coming to Hawaii in 2 weeks and friends recommended that place for breakfast.
We haven't gone yet and are planning to! Stay tuned for a food vlog of them 👍
Souffle pancake is a must try...
For change of pace breakfast eatery, checkout Liliha bakery. Their newest restaurant is in International Market Place. Another old skool local eatery is Sekiya's okazu-ya, roughly 5-10mins mauka(towards the mountains) from WKK, close to Leonard's Bakery
Spicy garlic spam musubi from 7-Eleven!!! THE best! 👌
That is good! 🤤
🌴🌺 I'll be there in 39 days. Going to alot of the places that you did videos on. Mahalo 🤟😎
Hope you enjoy them when you get here! 🤙
They been pounding it out 😂
OK, another convert subscriber. You both are a cute couple. Nothing better than two, who enjoy the good stuff in life.... food!!!! Some of the places, been to. Others not yet, though been here long enough to have been where-ever they are. Just never think of it or make the time. Hopefully, I'll get to them before the close for good. Good choices and video segment. Stay healthy as eating all those goodies will catch up to you if not careful.
Mahalo for joining our Foodie ohana Tracy! 🤙
