in the age of remakes, remasters, reboots, sequels etc. its always good when devs deviate and takes a creative risk with a new ip, especially when it looks this good

Because it was clearly stated here that even though it had some elements from the persona series, in some aspects it deviated from it a lot. It's like saying all rpg are the same thing and not innovative. If you have genuine criticisms, by all means, tell us. If your whole issue is whining that it seems too much like persona from one video you didn't really watch all the way then, whine harder
Yeah, they could easily make another Persona or MegaTen game and they'd be alright. But they took a risk and man it looks like it's going to pay off. Fingers crossed.

This seems like the perfect fusion of the broader alignment type system of SMT with the day-to-day social development of Persona. Everything I see has me more and more convinced this could a generation defining RPG.

They haven't specified having different routes or endings, have they? That is exactly what I'm thinking, though, about alignments and stuff. The story as outlined sounds perfect for having multiple routes, and this is an Atlus game. I just haven't heard any confirmation of it yet.

@adroitws1367 I am pretty optimistic. After all this is the team that worked on Persona. It seems to be an extention to their previous battle systems. I particularly love that they are adding the ability to choose which type of combat. While I don't believe the action combat will be super intricate. I'm glad they are borrowing mechanics that have proven to work in the past and enhancing them.

This look like the perfect blend between Persona and SMT.
And the artstyle is off the charts.
The fact that they are letting these 3 do something that isn’t persona is great for their health. They get to be creative and not burnout, unlike many Japanese developers who don’t get to work on any other games.
A day one buy, without a doubt. I absolutely cannot wait! The idea of combining the daily life planning of Persona with actual travel is just an absolute delight, and I really hope want that Bat in my party, he looks so cool.
i really love the sound of the travel system, the new combat system, and the attention to pacing and story. looking forward to it! the art and music are also coming together nicely
We are very lucky to have game designers and developers like Atlus in the industry.
they might be money grubby but at least they still still put out quality projects every generation doing the best they can with their tech
True, I am so glad that they still keep making games and are doing better than ever as a company because of their success, its so well deserved (even though I think they are milking Persona 5 like a cow at this point, its okay, if they make more money, we'll get more amazing games!)

@thomasamador4513 if they were really money grubbing they would've made remakes much earlier in the timeline, i heard a saying "atlus is allergic to money" not to say they arent money grabbing but to give people a remake would give them a ton of money

I can't get over how this looks and plays so far. It's so beautiful 😢 I'd been hoping we got to see more info/gameplay since the Game Awards and then this drops out of nowhere lol. Seriously can't wait to play this.
They announced this all the way back from Etrian Odyssey V on the 3DS. That was back in 2016 for Japan and 2017 for everywhere else. They had a costume DLC for free back then. I quite liked the design. I'm glad we're finally seeing something about this game! I have high hopes about it!

Same, I have been excited to see more of this since it was announced in 2016, and it was definitely worth waiting to see more, this is amazing so far.
It makes me so happy to see Atlust put in effort into a new IP/game in terms of budget and marketing outside of SMT and Persona.
The concepts, world setting, and art style presented are all so intriguing! It will be really interesting to see the game in detail once it's released. It's super refreshing to see a high budget, new IP in an original world setting - most AAA companies are very risk averse these days. I hope it does well! If it ends up feeling like an alternate Persona with a more traditional open world JRPG exploration aspect, that won't necessarily be a bad thing, but this game also has a lot of room to innovate, too.

I was going to get Metaphor just because I’m a fan of Persona and SMT. But by watching this video I got really hyped! It looks amazing! So many great ideas and tons of art in a form of graphics, music and storytelling… I can’t wait to play Metaphor.

Metaphor Re:Phantasia sounds amazing, I'll definitely can't wait to experience this! A minor gripe of mine, I remember earlier teaser trailers of this game and seeing the _Red-haired long earred girl_ party member having more of a shorter pixie cut over long hair, and I am wonder if there will be cosmetic customization for you and party members?
I think your party members literally being Your _Party_ members in a election is kinda great, its such a innovative idea, we should have our actual real life politicians fight in a colloeseum to participate!

The combat style seems a little interesting because you don’t need to waste time on weaker opponents and some battles will be quick.
I think it's interesting but I worry that the "quick fighting" system might feel bad/bare bones if you decide to commit to it rather than the turn-based half.
This is literally evolved P5R combat, which is very good.

In explaining the story and making judgement calls on what to do he is basically explaining the persona and smt series or how I feel when I play it. I'll be happy if that feeling is transferred into this game as well

I'm excited by just knowing that Hashino is directing this. The man understands the concept of rewarding the player and keeping them hooked. This is one of the reasons persona 3-5 are some of my favorite games.
Atlus developers are gems of the industry. Feels like a masterpiece incoming. Currently enjoying P3R. Learned this amazing franchise through Game Pass with P5R. Most anticipated game.

I wish everyone who complained about the mere concept of arpg elements being included a very "You control the buttons you press."
It was fairly obvious from the clip that it was just to clear out low-level mobs and do extra damage on high-level enemies before the real fight, but it's nice to have it 100% confirmed.
Kuro no kiseki already has this combat system and it is awesome

I'm glad they made it so that the combat system could be more varried and it wasn't always just turn based combat. turn based combat can be fun, but not when you do the same fight over and over again. especially against low level enemies.
Yeah it's a really interesting idea, I think I much prefer this idea compared to say an auto kill function that just activates by force once you get to a certain level above the enemy. Not really a fan of the idea of a forced auto kill feature as I like feeling in control of how I choose to deal with an enemy, even if it is a weakling.

System definitely looks a lot like how Kuro no Kiseki (Trails through Daybreak) handled it’s combat system and it worked well there.

A fresh pillar for Atlus to build upon is great, I'll definitely support the game, buying it on PS5 and steam, it genuinely looks beautiful with so much style.

Absolutely no idea what to expect from this game, but as a huge smt fan and travelling fan im absolutely going to check it out. Last voice over was weirdly slow lmao
Edit: feels like a wasted oppertunity to not put it on the switch (regarding the travelling etc.) But hey maybe better luck with the switch 2 (if its also a handheld hybrid)
