Becky, I have not enough words to express my delight in the opportunity to virtually tour your beautiful country! I love traveling and seeing new places in the world, but probably I will not be able to get ALL of my bucket list checked out in my lifetime. I am grateful to you for beinging so kind and generous to share with us your Western Australia adventure. And, for what is worth, I am in awe of your beautiful art work done in your sketchbook and your incredible patience to document every leg of your trip so beautifully and accurately. Super interesting presentation and entertaining in the same time! Thank you, dear Becky! ❤
Becky, what an AMAZING sketchbook tour! You and Nick definitely experienced the trip of a lifetime and got beautiful still and drone videos of it. Nick's drone videos are quite impressive and beautiful. Kudos on all of your paintings and annotations of your trip, simply gorgeous! I almost forgot, I loved the bird on Nick's head, on his hand and back on his head again, too cute! You should do a painting of that for him, well...and for the viewers 😊
Brilliant Becky. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m more than a little envious at your fantastic adventure. You really are a very good narrator. I was captivated the whole way through. Nick’s drone footage was so good and your photography was amazing. Together really impressive. The work in your sketchbook is wonderful. Again thank you for taking the time to share. Cheers.
@@BeckyTregearActually I was just telling my husband all about it. Now we are both retired we may be able to plan a trip across the Nullarbor. We just need a sturdy enough car. We are going to sit together this evening and watch your video. Thank you again I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cheers.

Wonderful achievement Becky. Great to relive these memories that I was lucky to enjoy on your actual journey. Remember seeing lots of your photos on your Facebook posts as you travelled and of course our many video calls we made at the time. Mum ❤
That is so cool! I loved every minute! I already really enjoy sketchbook tours, but this one was even more special because you shared the trip. Thank you so much!😊
Wonderful sketchbook! Congratulations for finishing it. So impressive! What a great way to relive your journey. 😊You brought back some nice memories for me too, of a trip taken with my mum and dad in 2000 to that gorgeous southwest corner of WA, plus the wildflower meadows inland from Geraldton. We went by plane from Melbourne to Perth, not The Nullarbor though. My favourite bit of your trip (and mine) was the treetop walk amongst the Tingles! 😄✈
I loved seeing the Tingle trees too! We'd watched a recent show where Bill Bailey toured around southwest WA and once we saw the treetop walk, we added that onto our list immediately! I'm so glad we went, even though it was bucketing. The trees looked even more beautiful in the rain! ❤ Next time we go to Perth we'll fly, lol.
Yea! Congratulations on finishing this travel book. I was just thinking of mine from my Arizona and California trip in the beginning of the year that I still haven't finished and now I'm heading back there in exactly a month. I might need to get it out and take a look to see what needs to be finished. The detail in yours is amazing. I'm really impressed with all of your little paintings. This was so fun!

Thank you, it's my most ambitious one yet! These sorts of sketchbooks are a real commitment, but I'm glad I put the time in for this one. It's a once in a lifetime drive for us I think, unless we end up one day buying a campervan and circumnavigating Australia in its entirety. A lot of retirees do that - maybe we shall become Grey Nomads too. 😄
What an epic trip for you and Nick! I didn't realize how little I knew about Australia until now, even though I've always wanted to visit there. Your sketchbook is amazingly creative, and your artwork represents your passion for art and Australia! Thank you so much, Becky, for taking us along for the ride!
Becky, absolutely, wonderfully stunning video and sketchbook tour! Thankyou for fulfilling one of my lifelong dreams. I may have told you before... As teenager (1960's, when Australia was desperate for immigrants) I was planning to take a £10 ticket to immigrate to Australia from the UK. I decided that having my UK nursing qualifications would be sensible, and of course, things changed in the intervening years. I ended up in France instead for a while, and 40 years later, came back. I don't regret it, but to have seen some of the things I'd read about / still read about, via this much anticipated video by someone special to me has been a lovely end-of-a-gruelling art project treat. Thank you! If you can get hold of a copy of Neville Shute's On The Beach (Kindle edition on UK Amazon is 99p), it's a deeply moving, prophetic story which ends in Australia. I read it as a teenager, and have never forgotten it.
I'll see if I can find a copy! Nick's parents migrated to Australia from Greece in the late 60's, pretty much that same story that Australia needed immigrants and the money was a lot better here so they could send it back to their families, and also build a better life for themselves. They met through the local Greek community here, and the rest is history, haha! Now Australians whinge about having too many immigrants - the usual cycle! 😂 I bet France would have been fabulous....many of us here dream of migrating to lovely places in Europe so it goes both ways. I love Australia though, except for the heatwaves. Tomorrow is going to be 41 degrees.....oh joy! 🔥
I love your videos and you're so good at telling the stories of the locations you visited and what they were like. Thank you so much for sharing this! It's a really well done travel sketchbook.
Thanks for sharing Becky, I'm looking forward to driving Melbourne to Perth one day, love your sketchbook. You have inspired me to start a travel sketch book next time I go on holidays.

I didn't know the Aussies had built a replica of it, how amazing! So many fascinating things to see, loved it, except for maybe the camel milk yuk!! :D
New Zealand is incredibly beautiful, and it's my birth country so I'll always love it. Australia is entirely different with its vast nothingness which I also love. It looks like you can walk right to the edge too. I suppose what kind of a fence could you possibly put up there? Lol absolutely enjoyed everything you showed us and love your sketchbook of memories. Very cool and I would definitely have you for a tour guide anytime 😅 absolutely stunning footage, so well done to Nick also 😊
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, and the Great Australian Bight really is incredible - I'm so glad I was able to capture some of its awesomeness! At Ceduna tourist info shop, the lady was saying that people often park their campers right at the cliff's edge to sleep there (which is completely insane!), and the rock is eroding away considerably at the moment so the danger that it could collapse and take the whole camper with it is a very real thing!
