I love product reviews especially from a familiar face (yes I am pretty sure I have seen you before at the art shop XD) as I am more likely to trust your opinion, but I tend to agree with them that we need to see more actual art on RUclips. It will encourage us to go do art! I haven't done any since my cancer diagnosis and I am not very good at it but need motivation to start, it's good for therapy!! 🥰

I lost my mum around 6/7 years ago to brain cancer and it was the start of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for me, I only just got diagnosed this yearnafter years of tests and not getting any answers. Its so important to take the time and rest properly as well as what you're clearly doing, going back to healthy principles. Best wishes for you and your Dad.

I think the best advice sketches and scrubs gave on video was watch reviews without sound so you’re looking at how it performs rather than what the person is saying. 😁 I enjoy reviews but I’m a little fussy on whose reviews I take seriously. I hope your and your dad’s health improves, it’s my focus for the year as well. Love my Shinhan paints they are the only tube paints I use because I prefer pans 😁 Awesome colouring, it’s such a relaxing thing to do.

Happy New Year Becky. I hope it's a great one. I'm still travelling through the perimenopause stage but I'll be through it in mid April. I have seen a bit of sleep improvement lately though. Last year I only pledged to read 50 books in the Goodreads challenge and read 153 so perimenopause insomnia has it's uses lol. With the perimenopause mood swings I haven't always been in the mood to do much art so my sketchbooks have been a bit start and stop the last couple of years. I have 5 finished books from previous years but I think I also have 6 books on the go at the moment. I use them differently now though so that's why there's 6 in progress. When I first started I used one book only, from beginning to end. These days I'm trying different mediums on different papers and in different sizes. So I have an A5 Stillman and Birn Alpha book just for pen work. I have 2 Stillman and Birn Beta sketchbooks that I'm working in mixed media in. One is A5 and the other is an 8x10 inch that I got for Christmas. I really wanted to try something bigger than A5 for once. So far I love it! Expensive though 😧 I also have a nearly finished A5 Winsor and Newton 100% cotton sketchbook that I do watercolor in. And lastly I have an A6 moleskine softcover sketchbook in a small kit with a few different colored pitt pens just for sketching on the go. It lives in my bag. I don't really like the paper or the price so won't be buying that one again. I bought a Talens A6 sketchbook that I like better so it's in my bag too. I won't tell you how many other new sketchbooks I have in a drawer waiting to be tested, my precious 😂
I'm pretty sure I'm going through Perimenopause as well, which sure isn't helping! I totally get what you mean, lol. I love having multiple sketchbooks on the go - sounds like you've got some lovely ones there. I like Stillman & Birn! Talens too - surprisingly good for the price! ❤

I had a bit of a health scare over Christmas as well and need to do the whole lifestyle and diet change stuff that we never really want to do, but in the end we need to do it so we might as well just bite the bullet now. Life is going to move on whether we want it to or not. Lol as I sit here munching on carrots. I hope your dad has a good year as well as you and Nick. And Gandalf of course :-). Yes, I was wondering if the sketches and scrubs video would have some blowback and I gather that it is. I can see her point, but as someone, me, who mostly stays at home and watches videos by creators who are often usually at home as well for a variety of reasons, I agree that RUclipsrs, creators, artists, should be compensated appropriately, but as someone who pays for a lot of subscriptions and pays for YT premium, and always likes and comments on videos because I know it helps with the algorithm, I don’t appreciate having the Patreon, Kofi, private channel, extra cost things that are often featured on every single video and on an almost constant loop. Perhaps this is the great next $20 minimum wage debate because I’m sure we can all rest assured that it’s the Amazon’s and Facebook’s that are making all the money, and not spreading the joy, but I’m also tired of seeing the exact same things “reviewed“ on every single channel I watch it seems. I always appreciate different impressions and uses for items and do enjoy seeing them, but I’ve also accumulated a lifetimes worth of art supplies and I would like to use them instead of constantly purchasing new. I would so love it if creators would say, OK this week we’re going to work with our yellows, get every one of your yellow art materials together and let’s play with them. Next week we’ll do green. Something like that. It would give people something new to watch, whether or not they participated and would provide a different sort of inspiration. And you are absolutely right, you do you. There’s too much of everybody trying to tell us what to do, we need to do what we feel comfortable with. If that means, maybe, perhaps not watching the never-ending review videos or art hauls, so be it. I’ve made a point in the last month or so to subscribe to channels I maybe might not have thought of before, such as museums or art associations. It makes an incredible difference in the feed you receive. By subscribing to other types of artistic channels, things come up that you might not have contemplated before, but are very happy to have found, and that’s what I’ve been experiencing recently. I look forward to another year of great videos from you! We’ve kicked 2024 to the curb so let’s take on 2025 now! Your creativity always sparks something in my mind. Take care. ❤

That was me for at least the last year, so little energy that I could barely get out of bed. Diagnosed as diabetic in November and I feel a huge change has come over me now it’s being managed! I have been looking after my father for the last 2 years and I knew something was wrong with me but had no time for myself! Glad you’re feeling better and hope future is much better for you!
I commented on Sketches and Scrubs video 😂 I’m happy to watch a few review videos but it seems that they blanket the RUclips community which is just too much IMO. I was especially annoyed after watching that video because I had watched a few art advent calendar openings, and because the advent calendar came from a RUclipsr I felt that the reviews were not honest and that irritated me beyond belief. If the RUclipsr in question, has to email the recipient of the advent gift from the company to explain why they have put in the things they have then IMO that is skewing the reviewers opinion. Not you of course! 😁❤ I will watch all your videos as you cheer me up on Saturday ❤😁
I'm so sorry you had that diagnosis! I hope you're getting everything managed and under control. One of my close friends has diabetes and I know from her experience how challenging it is, but she has done really well with changing her lifestyle and is almost off a lot of the medication which is great! I think I know which advent calendar you mean - I remember seeing some reviews and the author of it explaining a lot of why she'd chosen particular products. I was thinking to myself that it must have been so stressful to put it together and to not go down that path, lol! I had plenty of fun with that cheap Officeworks calendar, which ended up being one of my best videos ever - who would have thought! 😂

I have some really fun sketchbooks for 2025 and look forward to filling them as much as possible. I find myself in the same boat as you this holiday season with health issues that make it necessary to put self-care in the forefront. Boy is change hard, and at 68 years old. I am finding myself incredibly stubborn about it all. So I am doing what I can and not dwelling on what I am failing at. I figure I am ahead of where I was this time last year because hitting my health goals only every other day is better than not hitting them at all. I am sure I will get better at it as time goes on and I get used to the changes. Enough about me, I am so very sorry that you've had such a hard year. How wonderful you were able to have your dad over for the week. Good for you for taking the time off that you so obviously needed. So here's to a 2025 filled with art that makes our souls sing, and improved health and welfare! Happy New year!

I'm glad you're prioritizing taking care of yourself. As Becky would say, "Yayyyyy". I'm not a fan of the companies that seem to be blanketing You Tube with products for people to review, so thank you for avoiding being one of them, in general. That sketchbook idea sounds awesome.

I'm going into the second year of my 'use it up challenge' for art supplies and I kept all my empties from last year and I'm shocked at how much I either used up or had to chuck as it was dried up and no good. Might do a video about that, gotta figure out how to edit video first though lol I have that same sketchbook and the marker version, bought a couple of years ago I think and have not used! Might be a good time to break it out 😆I've only ever finished sketchbooks when I had to for uni hahaha.
It's so very hard to use everything up before it expires! 😂 I have a drawer full of "dead" art supplies that I can't bring myself to throw out. I use the free version of Da Vinci Resolve for video editing; it's great!

Fortunately walking is something I'm quite good at, yay! I usually put music in and zone out as I find it easier to walk further that way. Last year I started a sketchbook for drawing things in my garden, which has been quite fun. I might expand it to further nature if I go anywhere nice with it! I usually take photos and then draw them in later. 😄
Becky, please don't feel bad over other RUclipsrs comments. I personally love your reviews, which I consider to be honest. I also really enjoy when you put products to the test by creating your own art. People who feel tired of the supposedly "same products" can always choose other videos. We are all free to choose which RUclipsr we watch anyway. Please keep up the great work you do and don't listen to negative stuff

I'm glad I thought to hang the tea towel up, I love the way it looks on camera. I might become a permanent fixture there, rather than being used as an actual towel....lol! 😂 I can't wait to get stuck into my sketchbook and work on it throughout the year. It'll just be low key casual and I'll build a playlist over time.

I'm generally not bothered by what other people are doing, but I was starting to wonder if there was a general "tiredness" to particular reviews and since I'm feeling it myself I figured others would be too, then that other video came out and I guess it was a sign that it's a good time to change things up a bit. Reviews will still be included as I have a backlog of art supplies in my studio and I hope to use a lot of them this year! 😄

Happy new year for 2025 - let’s get into it!. Hope it’s a better year for all of us especially health wise. I’ve bought a place in NSW so I went up there for Christmas and managed to drop into Eckersleys and Adamstown Art in Newcastle. Hope to move permanently in 2025. I always find it easy to eat and exercise in summer but tend to stagnate in winter 🥶 hence moving north. My favourite videos are really the “how to “ ones not so much what to buy. I love Australian content which is limited on RUclips. About the review rabbit hole I wonder if your experience with the companies would be the same if you were an indigenous artist. So far I’ve only seen older white women that have no problem with them. Food for thought. Happy new year 🎉🎉
I've wondered these things too! I mean I tick the Middle Age White Woman box to a T so my experience is pretty much limited to that. But at any rate, now feels like a great time to change things up and hopefully I can move on to bigger and better things! Maybe get some more Aussie supplies in there too. You are so right in that it is much easier in summer to be active, especially in the morning. So much early light! Winter is a struggle but I'll have to be out there regardless, lol. I hope you get to move north and have a lovely time in the nicer climate! At least there are lots of art shops around there too, heheh.

I watched the sketches n' scrubs video as well and the whole thing isn't surprising. I have definitely been influenced to buy a lot the last two years because of artubers like you. That's not because of the product perse, I watch multiple reviews and more imporantly; the actual art making so I can make an informed decision of what I want to buy. Because we all know art supplies are expensive and my budget isn't limitless so I inform myself. But it also inspired me to buy all kinds of art supplies I wasn't looking for in the first place. That however introduced me to the quality of higher end supplies like how I just discovered Neo II's (the real deal) and now I don't know how I ever lived without them. But all these supplies now present me with a problem; I really need art goals for 2025, too many ideas, too many unfinished projects, too many art supplies (not too many, ever, duh 😘) that make the making of a decision on a direction a bit impossible at the moment. A definite goal; do more art this year and try to hammer down a style. Looking forward to your videos this year! But don't feel pressured, they come when they come

Hi Becky, I just bought the Ohuhu mixed media sketchbook so I can sort of follow along with you, and learn from you. I am sorry your dad is dealing with cancer, and for your health too. I am glad you don't have sleep apnea. I have sleep apnea. I don't like, but treating it keeps me alive. I have heard of those smart rings. I hope your health is treatable. I have lost ninety pounds since February. I have a lot more to lose though. Your office looks wonderful! I don't mind product reviews. It lets me see what a new product is like. And the artists I watch are always honest about the features of said product. Keep taking care of yourself. You are needed.
I really hope the sketchbook is good now, haha! It's holding watercolour well from my initial try on the first page. 😄 Wow, you've lost 90lbs? That's amazing! Obviously I need to lose some too and it is so hard but I'm working on it as best as I can. Sleep apnoea would be such a difficult thing - the ring I ended up getting is a RingConn Gen 2 and you can set it to measure sleep apnoea over a three night period - it's really interesting what it measures! You have a right to confidentiality with your medicals, you do not have to tell people if you do not want to. It also means that people do not have a right to ask. I remind myself of this often because I am a wheelchair user and people think they can ask.

I have noticed that my local Officeworks have reduced their art section, which is disappointing, I was told that I needed to go to the Mentone store... It's too far for me... So I now go to my local art shop more often now. 😊 It's where I got my sketchbook, so now I have a reason to use it and using up art supplies I haven't used -, so looking forward to your video... 😊
Thank you! Yes, the Mentone store has their entire art range and is the best one in Melbourne. It's also a schlep for me so I don't get there very often, but the shop is absolutely massive! I was in Ballarat recently and their Officeworks is a lot like the Mentone one, with a big art area at the back of the store! If you're ever out that way, it's really worth going into. Have fun working in your sketchbook this year, I hope to fill as much of mine as possible! 😄

Also i am getting a little tired of product reviews, i follow art channels for the art making aspect and i will not watch a lot of product reviews as they all mainly the same companies. I also appreciate your honesty with the reviews. Hope this year is a better year for you and your family.
Good luck with the health. I made some changes last year and it definitely helps a lot and hopefully you will feel better in no time. I know a lot about Sketches in Scrubs issues and wondered about you with Arrtx/PR. Most artists around your sub count and even larger, they are refusing to pay. Even a YTer at over 300k subs they told her, that working with them would be a good opportunity for her. They usually say there is no budget etc but will send you the $30 product for free. Sketches knew that a lot of creators are very isolated and don't always know what is a good or bad deal. A lot of people have been given poor deals and because it's so common, others can feel pressured to, as they want to be part of it too. A different creator and a different brand told them he needs to be paid and the supplier came back and said they will cover the shipping costs, as a pitch to get back in his good books. Were's they originally expecting he would pay the costs to advertise their brand? We all want creators to be compensated fairly for the time they put into videos and at least be aware, so you can decide if you want to ask for a little more if a payment. These colouring books are very cool. I don't have them but have a similar one and I love it. They look fun ❤

I think it is just a good idea to go with what your gut says and make your own decisions when it comes to collaborating with companies. And only do what makes you comfortable! I have been dealing with cancer for almost two years now. I managed to get clear scans a few months ago but it's not clear whether or not I am cancer free due to tumour markers still being elevated. I know for myself, I am sick of product reviews. I don’t want to buy more things. I really love watching people paint and draw and make beautiful art. I get almost nothing from reviews anymore. It is so much fun just watching you make beautiful art with supplies that you love.

I love product reviews especially from a familiar face (yes I am pretty sure I have seen you before at the art shop XD) as I am more likely to trust your opinion, but I tend to agree with them that we need to see more actual art on RUclips. It will encourage us to go do art! I haven't done any since my cancer diagnosis and I am not very good at it but need motivation to start, it's good for therapy!! 🥰

I lost my mum around 6/7 years ago to brain cancer and it was the start of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for me, I only just got diagnosed this yearnafter years of tests and not getting any answers. Happy New Year Becky. I hope it's a great one. I'm still travelling through the perimenopause stage but I'll be through it in mid April. I have seen a bit of sleep improvement lately though. Last year I only pledged to read 50 books in the Goodreads challenge and read 153 so perimenopause insomnia has it's uses lol.
With the perimenopause mood swings I haven't always been in the mood to do much art so my sketchbooks have been a bit start and stop the last couple of years. I have 5 finished books from previous years but I think I also have 6 books on the go at the moment. I use them differently now though so that's why there's 6 in progress. When I first started I used one book only, from beginning to end. These days I'm trying different mediums on different papers and in different sizes. So I have an A5 Stillman and Birn Alpha book just for pen work. I have 2 Stillman and Birn Beta sketchbooks that I'm working in mixed media in. One is A5 and the other is an 8x10 inch that I got for Christmas. I really wanted to try something bigger than A5 for once. So far I love it! Expensive though 😧
I also have a nearly finished A5 Winsor and Newton 100% cotton sketchbook that I do watercolor in. And lastly I have an A6 moleskine softcover sketchbook in a small kit with a few different colored pitt pens just for sketching on the go. It lives in my bag. I don't really like the paper or the price so won't be buying that one again. I bought a Talens A6 sketchbook that I like better so it's in my bag too. I won't tell you how many other new sketchbooks I have in a drawer waiting to be tested, my precious 😂
I'm pretty sure I'm going through Perimenopause as well, which sure isn't helping! I totally get what you mean, lol. I love having multiple sketchbooks on the go - sounds like you've got some lovely ones there. I like Stillman & Birn! Talens too - surprisingly good for the price! ❤

I had a bit of a health scare over Christmas as well and need to do the whole lifestyle and diet change stuff that we never really want to do, but in the end we need to do it so we might as well just bite the bullet now. Life is going to move on whether we want it to or not. Lol as I sit here munching on carrots. I hope your dad has a good year as well as you and Nick. And Gandalf of course :-).
Yes, I was wondering if the sketches and scrubs video would have some blowback and I gather that it is. I can see her point, but as someone, me, who mostly stays at home and watches videos by creators who are often usually at home as well for a variety of reasons, I agree that RUclipsrs, creators, artists, should be compensated appropriately, but as someone who pays for a lot of subscriptions and pays for YT premium, and always likes and comments on videos because I know it helps with the algorithm, I don’t appreciate having the Patreon, Kofi, private channel, extra cost things that are often featured on every single video and on an almost constant loop. Perhaps this is the great next $20 minimum wage debate because I’m sure we can all rest assured that it’s the Amazon’s and Facebook’s that are making all the money, and not spreading the joy, but I’m also tired of seeing the exact same things “reviewed“ on every single channel I watch it seems.
I always appreciate different impressions and uses for items and do enjoy seeing them, but I’ve also accumulated a lifetimes worth of art supplies and I would like to use them instead of constantly purchasing new. I would so love it if creators would say, OK this week we’re going to work with our yellows, get every one of your yellow art materials together and let’s play with them. Next week we’ll do green. Something like that. It would give people something new to watch, whether or not they participated and would provide a different sort of inspiration.
And you are absolutely right, you do you. There’s too much of everybody trying to tell us what to do, we need to do what we feel comfortable with. If that means, maybe, perhaps not watching the never-ending review videos or art hauls, so be it. I’ve made a point in the last month or so to subscribe to channels I maybe might not have thought of before, such as museums or art associations. It makes an incredible difference in the feed you receive. By subscribing to other types of artistic channels, things come up that you might not have contemplated before, but are very happy to have found, and that’s what I’ve been experiencing recently.
I look forward to another year of great videos from you! We’ve kicked 2024 to the curb so let’s take on 2025 now! Your creativity always sparks something in my mind. Take care. ❤

That was me for at least the last year, so little energy that I could barely get out of bed. Diagnosed as diabetic in November and I feel a huge change has come over me now it’s being managed! I have been looking after my father for the last 2 years and I knew something was wrong with me but had no time for myself! Glad you’re feeling better and hope future is much better for you!
I commented on Sketches and Scrubs video 😂 I’m happy to watch a few review videos but it seems that they blanket the RUclips community which is just too much IMO. I was especially annoyed after watching that video because I had watched a few art advent calendar openings, and because the advent calendar came from a RUclipsr I felt that the reviews were not honest and that irritated me beyond belief. If the RUclipsr in question, has to email the recipient of the advent gift from the company to explain why they have put in the things they have then IMO that is skewing the reviewers opinion. Not you of course! 😁❤

I'm so sorry you had that diagnosis! I hope you're getting everything managed and under control. One of my close friends has diabetes and I know from her experience how challenging it is, but she has done really well with changing her lifestyle and is almost off a lot of the medication which is great! I think I know which advent calendar you mean - I remember seeing some reviews and the author of it explaining a lot of why she'd chosen particular products. I was thinking to myself that it must have been so stressful to put it together and to not go down that path, lol! I had plenty of fun with that cheap Officeworks calendar, which ended up being one of my best videos ever - who would have thought! 😂

I find myself in the same boat as you this holiday season with health issues that make it necessary to put self-care in the forefront. Boy is change hard, and at 68 years old. I am finding myself incredibly stubborn about it all. So I am doing what I can and not dwelling on what I am failing at. I figure I am ahead of where I was this time last year because hitting my health goals only every other day is better than not hitting them at all. I am sure I will get better at it as time goes on and I get used to the changes. Enough about me, I am so very sorry that you've had such a hard year. How wonderful you were able to have your dad over for the week. Good for you for taking the time off that you so obviously needed. So here's to a 2025 filled with art that makes our souls sing, and improved health and welfare! Happy New year!

I'm going into the second year of my 'use it up challenge' for art supplies and I kept all my empties from last year and I'm shocked at how much I either used up or had to chuck as it was dried up and no good. Might do a video about that, gotta figure out how to edit video first though lol
I have that same sketchbook and the marker version, bought a couple of years ago I think and have not used! Might be a good time to break it out 😆I've only ever finished sketchbooks when I had to for uni hahaha.
It's so very hard to use everything up before it expires! 😂 I have a drawer full of "dead" art supplies that I can't bring myself to throw out. I use the free version of Da Vinci Resolve for video editing; it's great!

Fortunately walking is something I'm quite good at, yay! I usually put music in and zone out as I find it easier to walk further that way. Last year I started a sketchbook for drawing things in my garden, which has been quite fun. I might expand it to further nature if I go anywhere nice with it! I usually take photos and then draw them in later. 😄
Becky, please don't feel bad over other RUclipsrs comments. I personally love your reviews, which I consider to be honest. I also really enjoy when you put products to the test by creating your own art. People who feel tired of the supposedly "same products" can always choose other videos. We are all free to choose which RUclipsr we watch anyway. Please keep up the great work you do and don't listen to negative stuff

I'm glad I thought to hang the tea towel up, I love the way it looks on camera. I might become a permanent fixture there, rather than being used as an actual towel....lol! 😂 I can't wait to get stuck into my sketchbook and work on it throughout the year. I enjoy your channel, and I don't care if you include product reviews, but they do get repetitive. Sketches and scrubs is all about the money. She says it isn't but it always is. It permeates every free RUclips video she makes. I would enjoy a sketchbook challenge too, thanks.

Happy new year for 2025 - let’s get into it!. Hope it’s a better year for all of us especially health wise. I’ve bought a place in NSW so I went up there for Christmas and managed to drop into Eckersleys and Adamstown Art in Newcastle. Hope to move permanently in 2025. I always find it easy to eat and exercise in summer but tend to stagnate in winter 🥶 hence moving north. My favourite videos are really the “how to “ ones not so much what to buy. I love Australian content which is limited on RUclips. About the review rabbit hole I wonder if your experience with the companies would be the same if you were an indigenous artist. So far I’ve only seen older white women that have no problem with them. Food for thought. Happy new year 🎉🎉
I've wondered these things too! I mean I tick the Middle Age White Woman box to a T so my experience is pretty much limited to that. But at any rate, now feels like a great time to change things up and hopefully I can move on to bigger and better things! Maybe get some more Aussie supplies in there too. You are so right in that it is much easier in summer to be active, especially in the morning. So much early light! Winter is a struggle but I'll have to be out there regardless, lol. I hope you get to move north and have a lovely time in the nicer climate! At least there are lots of art shops around there too, heheh.

I watched the sketches n' scrubs video as well and the whole thing isn't surprising. I have definitely been influenced to buy a lot the last two years because of artubers like you. That's not because of the product perse, I watch multiple reviews and more imporantly; the actual art making so I can make an informed decision of what I want to buy. Because we all know art supplies are expensive and my budget isn't limitless so I inform myself. But it also inspired me to buy all kinds of art supplies I wasn't looking for in the first place. That however introduced me to the quality of higher end supplies like how I just discovered Neo II's (the real deal) and now I don't know how I ever lived without them. But all these supplies now present me with a problem; I really need art goals for 2025, too many ideas, too many unfinished projects, too many art supplies (not too many, ever, duh 😘) that make the making of a decision on a direction a bit impossible at the moment. A definite goal; do more art this year and try to hammer down a style. Looking forward to your videos this year! But don't feel pressured, they come when they come

I am sorry your dad is dealing with cancer, and for your health too. I am glad you don't have sleep apnea. I have sleep apnea. I don't like, but treating it keeps me alive. I have heard of those smart rings. I hope your health is treatable. I have lost ninety pounds since February. I have a lot more to lose though.

I don't mind product reviews. It lets me see what a new product is like. And the artists I watch are always honest about the features of said product.

I really hope the sketchbook is good now, haha! It's holding watercolour well from my initial try on the first page. 😄 Wow, you've lost 90lbs? That's amazing! Obviously I need to lose some too and it is so hard but I'm working on it as best as I can. Sleep apnoea would be such a difficult thing - the ring I ended up getting is a RingConn Gen 2 and you can set it to measure sleep apnoea over a three night period - it's really interesting what it measures! You have a right to confidentiality with your medicals, you do not have to tell people if you do not want to. It also means that people do not have a right to ask. I remind myself of this often because I am a wheelchair user and people think they can ask.
I don't mind sharing some stuff, but I'd rather get better first! It's super awkward when people ask questions that you don't want to answer. ❤
All the best with your father, hope he okay. I have started an art journal, today actually, I found an unused journal so decided to use this. I have noticed that my local Officeworks have reduced their art section, which is disappointing, I was told that I needed to go to the Mentone store... It's too far for me... So I now go to my local art shop more often now. 😊 It's where I got my sketchbook, so now I have a reason to use it and using up art supplies I haven't used -, so looking forward to your video... 😊
Thank you! Yes, the Mentone store has their entire art range and is the best one in Melbourne. It's also a schlep for me so I don't get there very often, but the shop is absolutely massive! I was in Ballarat recently and their Officeworks is a lot like the Mentone one, with a big art area at the back of the store! If you're ever out that way, it's really worth going into. Have fun working in your sketchbook this year, I hope to fill as much of mine as possible! 😄

Also i am getting a little tired of product reviews, i follow art channels for the art making aspect and i will not watch a lot of product reviews as they all mainly the same companies. I also appreciate your honesty with the reviews.

Good luck with the health. I made some changes last year and it definitely helps a lot and hopefully you will feel better in no time.
I know a lot about Sketches in Scrubs issues and wondered about you with Arrtx/PR. Most artists around your sub count and even larger, they are refusing to pay. Even a YTer at over 300k subs they told her, that working with them would be a good opportunity for her. They usually say there is no budget etc but will send you the $30 product for free.
Sketches knew that a lot of creators are very isolated and don't always know what is a good or bad deal. A lot of people have been given poor deals and because it's so common, others can feel pressured to, as they want to be part of it too.
A different creator and a different brand told them he needs to be paid and the supplier came back and said they will cover the shipping costs, as a pitch to get back in his good books. Were's they originally expecting he would pay the costs to advertise their brand?
We all want creators to be compensated fairly for the time they put into videos and at least be aware, so you can decide if you want to ask for a little more if a payment.
These colouring books are very cool. I don't have them but have a similar one and I love it. They look fun ❤

Yeah it's stirred up a lot of controversy, and it's definitely not something I want to be dealing with, so the best option for me is to just step away from it all and focus on my own art and creativity without further influence from companies. I enjoyed the ride while it lasted but I am ready to move on to other things for the most part. It'll have to be something truly amazing for me to accept a review now, haha!
I think it is just a good idea to go with what your gut says and make your own decisions when it comes to collaborating with companies. And only do what makes you comfortable!

I have been dealing with cancer for almost two years now. I managed to get clear scans a few months ago but it's not clear whether or not I am cancer free due to tumour markers still being elevated. So now it's a watch and wait... it feels like cancer just never really goes away but I will take the clear scans as a win and hope that this year is a good one. 🥰 I am so sorry about your dad. Sending positive vibes his way and I hope he beats it. 💕🫶
