After Pakistan’s humiliating defeat, when India captured about a million Pakistani POWs (a record number in the history of any war), Indira Gandhi (only Indian PM who can claim a war victory) negotiated to release Mujibur from the Jail and he was brought to Delhi directly from West Pakistan before going to Bangladesh on their Independence day. What Shekhar Gupta leaves out is the fact that Capt Abdul Majid was sheltered in Kolkata (Calcutta) for a shocking 22 ( twentytwo) years by the Jyoti Basu govt and then Mamata Banerji. He was provided with all documents of an Indian citizen i.e. passport, Aadhar card, Pan card, and all else. In other words he became an Indian citizen aided by India. So can we safely say that the Indian state was sheltering an Islamic jihadi which is comparable to Pakistan sheltering all the terrorists wanted by India for eg Hafiz Saeed, Dawood Ibrahim etc? So how are we different from Pakistan? Bangladesh is yet to or may not comment to keep relations with India on track. Now comes the best part. Capt Abdul Majid went back to Bangladesh because of the NPR/NRC to be implemented in India. So it amplifies the reasons why NPR/NRC has to be implemented in India to weed out these undesirable illegal immigrants who are being supported and nurtured as a vote bank. Today India has become an open sanctuary for all these undesirables who come here knowing that the Indian politicians will help them either on the basis of the Muslim Ummah or shelter them as a vote bank The number of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis is in millions and our politicians whether in West Bengal, Kerala, Delhi and elsewhere are helping them. Who will explain how about a lakh of Rohingya muslims have been settled in Jammu? To change the demographic pattern and thus the votes? Mr Shekhar Gupta please answer. Waiting for your reply.

It's also amazing to see how successful Bangladesh has become under Sheikh Hasina. Now Bangladesh's GDP is growing at a very high pace, way higher than us India's. Excellent narration of history. It's similar to the story of the last tzar nicholas. The events of assassination of Mujibs family is similar to the Romanov dynasty. Also the information about Spanish flu is an eyeopener.
D third point l want to mention is that d Dhaka conspirators were having clear objectives to wipe out Mujeeb's entire family / confidants from d very beginning as it so happened. One major Dalim had reportedly had some personal scores also to settle with (?). He is still perhaps scot - free 😮
Dear Shekar, the historical record is that Henry Kissinger did give blessings to the coup as it happened right after his visit. Reference provided on request.
Lots of Respect to you sir, But being a Bangladeshi I feel the discussion you made here about Ziaur Rahman is not actually 100%. Ziaur Rahman had nothing with the killing of Muzibur Rahman. his name has bought up only because to determine the political party he maid after that. He was one of the Army personals who didn't join politics just because of his wish but because of people's choice in bangladesh. You also named him as a trouble maker of India at that time which is also you are not making justice to your journalism. He was the one who reopens policies after Muzibur Rahman closed down by his emergency. Also, you didn't talk about one major breaching of trust and treaty between India and Bangladesh. This Major Majed was in India for a long time but the Indian government didn't say anything to the Bangladeshi government but according to the treaty between these two-country no one enemy cant stay. He sent all the killers to various embassies of Bangladesh in different countries, made the country Islamic and got recognition from China, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan.
In Pakistan the art of coupé has has been developed into a science thats why no one dies during coupé.
Coup d'état is not the same as coupé. Both are different words.
Big question- how he was hidding in West Bengal for so long time, is wb is Safeground of these kind of people??
Again , WB has nothing to do with it as it is the responsibility of those who issue VISA to these people - Home ministry and IB in this case are central govt.

@ThePrint, Sekhar Sir how did this man Captian Abdul Majed manage to hide in India for 22 years ? Can you please cut the clutter here ?
P Maitra not only that but also in Kolkata under our nose
He wasnt in India for 22 years , he was hiding in Pakistan , some gulf country and then India
Tejas Mohite please get your facts correct. He not only lived in India but also in Kolkata, married a woman and had a child too.
@@tejasmohite2651 Please correct your fact.... He was famous English teacher in Kolkata Park Street for 22 years. Had a second wife and a child
@ who a murderer?
Something other than corona! Phew...
Zia was also killed.by another general .. instant Karma .. As you sow shall you reap ..

Sheikh Hasina is not a dictator chosen by ballot as you are saying in the video. She is an elelcted PM of a democratic and developing nation.

Very well researched as is your hallmark- lot of significant facts surrounding Mujib’s assassination , that predating and the immediate aftermath chronicled with objectivity . Thanks for this episode. Regards.
Gupta G, Your analysis tends towards biased one against Pakistan. History revealed Pak Army should have left peacefully as notorious Indian Army backed Mukti was amongst harsh enemies. And for record All three responsible to break Pakistan were killed simultaneously Sheikh, Bhutto n Indira.

A question. What was this killer doing in India? Why India kept him safe all these years ?
Pls search on google ksn & kao on Bangladesh coup. They tried to warn Sheik Mujib Rahaman but he said they are his own people and they will not do it.

What were Indian govt agencies doing? Watching so much instability and still allowed Mujib's entire family to be wiped out? This just four years after the immense price paid in Indian blood & resources for the 71 liberation of Bangladesh.
On Sunday too... Dedication 👍
Sg was desperate to comment on something not CCP virus 😂
Watch this video and read up the entire incident leading up to the assassination guys.. Bangladesh's politics is perhaps the darkest in the entire sub continent. They have an extremely dark phase even post its succession from East Pakistan.
It's also amazing to see how successful Bangladesh has become under Sheikh Hasina. Now Bangladesh's GDP is growing at a very high pace, way higher than us India's. It is on its way to replicate the China model with becoming the manufacturing hub for textiles. And if projections were to be true, Bangladesh's GDP per capita will overtake India in 2 years. And as an icing to the cake, Bangladesh has also strictly cracked down on terorism
Good job Bangladesh 👏👏

Analysis is excellant, thanks Print. But I have a little observation. Prints analysis in this regard is little incomplete. Zia ur Rahman's role was situational. What he could do, when his boss the CNC Shafiullah was coward to face the criminals nor he was able to order Zia any thing? Zia was 2nd in command he could not by pass him for violating army code of conduct. Khaled Mosharof paid the price to make that an example who being lower in command and took action and got killed.

Sir it was only HARAMI Zia whose support to Mujib Killers was there. Had he discouraged them earlier when they met him before coup probably in Feb 1975 seeking his support to remove Mujib from power..but he asked them to go ahead if they wish so.it was a tactical support to the killers. So zia is also a killer n he was killed in the same way in Chitagong Rest house..hats off to Major Genl.

The barking dog sound in the background...is very Annoying
The way Zia-ur-rahaman led the killings in 15th August and afterwards is a great patakatha for a great movie.
I am a big fan of your show hope you will make one episode of the current dictatorship regime.
