Shankharibazar massacre (Bengali: শাঁখারীবাজার গণহত্যা) was a massacre of the Hindus of the Shankharibazar area of Old Dhaka on 26 March 1971 by the Pakistani occupation army.[1] The survivors fled to the villages on the other side of the Buriganga, in the region now known as Keraniganj. Shankharibazar became deserted and dead bodies remained on the streets for quite a long time. The Pakistani establishment renamed the Shankharibazar Road to Tikka Khan Road.[

These are certain questions which were not addressed in the podcast. As far as my knowledge goes no one in India has been blamed and proceeded against for giving shelter to the absconding assassin. Why didn't he go to Pakistan which would have accepted him with open arms?

My question is why doesn't 'cut the clutter' deal with issues that pose a more clear and present danger to India such as climate change. Why always hark back to the past? Why dwell on issues that heighten our insecurities or swell our chests with false vanity? Let's talk about issues that need collective and urgent action.

@Abhay Pratap Singh The Urdu speaking Mohajirs who went from UP Bihar were never accepted in Pakistan. Pakistan actually shut its borders to Indian Muslims right after 1950. Within Pakistan they have a deep sense of inferiority complex. Muslims of foreign ancestry are considered superior to natives who converted to Islam.

Maybe there were some more issues around it. As I have heard from people of that era , that Awami league government that time was very much inclined towards communism. Some steps taken by them angered people (at least the ones who were saying). Also the political group expressed their view of bangladesh very much dependent on india and sharing basic points of sovereignty with it. That in addition of his family centric political moves left some people wondering if he was trying to something fishy, in exchange of being in power with the help of soviet russia and india. Many, including groups of freedom fighters doubted his intentions and was angered by his decisions.

You might have met so many Bangladeshis politicians in government. Could you ever gather enough courage, even for a minute to ask them, where are their minorities? They were 21-24 %, where have they gone...? You know your credibility, just couple of months ago, you were praising Bangla like it is the most developed country. Who is going to trust you ???

That was after British rule when Pakistan was formed. Most of them didn't want to live in Pakistan. So they left for India. By the time 1971 came around the Hindu population of Bangladesh was 14%. Not 21-24%. Currently the Hindu population of Bangladesh is around 10%. The 4% decrease is mostly because of low birth rate of Hindus compared to Muslims. Some also left for India during military rule.

That wasn’t an emergency but a single party rule and a pure dictatorship that banned all newspapers and political parties. Yes kind of a communist dictatorship while corruption and anarchy was at its peak. And there was no way to get out of that situation without removing Mujib. And Mujib was such a powerful figure that he couldn’t be removed without being killed. That’s the brutal reality of 1975

For educating the 2k kids , Sekarji should have talked about the heinous murder of Mahatma Gandhi by Nathuram Godse and the involvement of RSS and Savarkar in the conspiracy as proudly revealed by Co-conspirators Gopal Godse , Narayan Apte and Badge before the Justice J.L. Kapur Commission after the death of Nathuram Godse in 1969 .

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was seeking the help of Fascist leaders Adolf Hitler , Benito Mussolini and Admiral Tojo to boot away the British from India .
V D Savarkar , a despicable mercy petitionist , to please and placate his British Masters , goaded Indians to join the British Indian Army to fight the Fascist Germany Italy and Japan . A veritable Brit boot licker .
Netaji was a fierce Nationalist fighting the British Colonial Govt and V D Savarkar was a desh drohi supporting the British Colonial Govt .
Bose and Savarkar are a study in contrast , the former a Nationalist and the other naturally an antithesis , an Anti-Nationalist .
