How to fix DS4Windows opening a second player on one controller

After my video on squaring deadzone I have received a few comments asking how to stop ds4 windows from opening a splitscreen player when hitting start. After i select the xbox 360, then go to hide controller, i select hide controller and then theres like a little red error at the bottom of my ds4, i opened rocket league even with it hoping it worked, i get square dz but the split screen still happens :(

Thanks for the video/help! For some reason I had to do the opposite of you when it came to hiding- I had to hide the actual controller I was using (dual sense) instead of the 360 emulated one. But all this ended up fixing my incredibly annoying issue in Mame- where it would always think I was the 2nd player thus making some games unplayable (i.e. Sengoku 3 would make both players active thus not letting me continue forward after the 1st set of bad guys due to the other char not moving forward too).

If it doesn't work for you, hide the ps4 controller instead of the 360 controller and check the box that says "Enable Device Hiding" in the hidhide config client. After that follow the steps in the video. You'll know it's working when in the "controllers" window you see a 🔑symbol (as seen in 0:22) instead of an X in the "EX" window.

Tried both the video instructions and the ones in the comments to no avail. What did work for me was going to profiles -> your profile (default if you haven't made a new one) -> other -> disable virtual controller.
Edit: You could also make a new profile specifically for rocket league and set it there, in-case this messes up some other games, you can use auto profiles too to automatically switch to it when you start rocket league.

When I go to the HidHide Configuration Client I hear the windows ding sound, then the while DS4 Windows just closes I never get the Window @0:40
Even after reboot I never get the menu @1:10
I'm on DS4Windows version. 3.1.9

If the Hidhide client won't open you can open device options and uncheck all the options but one and hide the DS4 Windows option. Worked for me without the client opening

Thanks! Very good! For the comments on why this is not working for you. You are forgetting the second step. You have to check hide ds4 in the main settings window. Please rewatch it.

You might have to just close ds4 to play,but if your overclocking your controller and need it to stay open like me I’d suggest making sure you don’t have any steam configs on for another controller

This might help: try checking the box that says "Enable Device Hiding" in the hidhide config client. I did this and it worked. Hope this helped. (Note: idk if you have to check the 360 controller or the controller your using, just try both)

I have a problem, whenever I open the HidHide configuration client, it does not show the "Controller (Xbox 360 for WIndows." I uninstalled DS4 Windows and reinstalled, and yet to avail, it still won't give me that prompt. If you or anyone knows a possible solution, I will try it to see if it works or not.

@@fogpivvl8341 I was able to find a fix that worked for me. So go through the steps he explain to get the Hid Hide driver. When I go to devices, the only option that is available to me is "HID-Compliant Game Controller" I check that box and then close out of HidHide. While still in the settings in DS4 Windows, check the box in the top left that says "Hide DS4 Controller" Then, go to the "Controllers" and under where it says "Selected Profile" make sure it set to default. Default has been the profile that we have been making these changes to the entire time so don't worry it isn't the actual default settings. But, after you complete all of these steps, you should be good. This worked for me and if there are still problems I can go back in DS4 Windows and figure out if I possibly did anything else but I don't think I did. Also, one last thing, sometimes when you open DS4 Windows, under the "Ex" at the top, it can show either an X or a checkmark, make sure it is showing a check mark. If it showing an X, press stop in the bottom left and wait 10 seconds then press start again. If waiting the 10 seconds didn't work, try waiting for longer until it eventually works.
