I am pretty sure he would be able to make the same video with the premise of Iso being broken, just use the VIT-FNC Icebox where an awping Iso found great value, or the FNC Haven comp that got great results despite running Yoru

Of course you're going to think that. You only watch his RUclips videos. If you want to see the "thinking" part more, tune in to his watch parties.
There are a lot of things he talks about even before they happen: there's map vetoes, match predictions, agent comps, strats, util usage, counter util usage. Many others do this on stream. Sliggy, Sean Gares, Sideshow, etc. It just seems like reactionary on RUclips because of the nature of RUclips videos but that doesn't do their content justice. All of them are more interesting to watch live.

I feel as if he’ll have a place on Pearl when that inevitably makes its return to the map pool, lot of long hallways/environment i feel his kit will excel better in.
Agreed (I do think MAYBE return the 2 Kill Thing with maybe a shorter duration) but i was surprised to see how fine his kit still worked with the nerfs. I'd say buffing his wall and maybe giving him a free shield when he goes into Ult (but NOT buffing his signature) would be a good way to approach him. A raid boss on his own but has utility for the team mainly.
the players just used the shield incorrectly in the examples shown. i think it can still be played on haven and icebox. the biggest issue imo is a team needs 2 entry fraggers to play iso which many don't have
Why would you use two entries when you can just have another support though? The shield got giganerfed in total uptime and is still so loud you can just work around it. The wall is only good in super specific situations. The vuln has hugely diminished return because pros can just hit the head far better than most players. And a lot of the ult's use is in shutting down sentinels and controllers, which KayO for example can do without risking losing his life in a 1v1.

@@JustMatchmaking I think the initial comment makes sense for Icebox at LEAST. The post plant spam is a lot on that map and seeing teams use Harbor Cove/Iso Wall to at least get half is huge. I think he def has potential on that map at least.
@@JustMatchmaking All Iso needs is for his SHIELD to decay after 12sec but the double tap itself to remain for 20sec, so you actually have a window of opportunity of 8sec where Iso is vulnerable without his shield but still has potential to popoff, or as some people suggested make the Iso shield 15-20sec but make it only block 100 dmg, so now u can actually die to op hs despite being shielded (255 comming in handy i guess) which doesn't make ulting an op insta win, making him more interactable with, not just feast or famine type of agent.

6:17 this is just like old Reyna. When she ult, we can just wait for entering the site, waiting until her ult expired
currently, attacking side iso is viable enough because u can always wait and look for weakness in the map and force 1v1 with shield. In defense side, iso's utils are so high risk but low reward for first contact and site retake in which a duelist should atleast be viable in defense. The shield should stay as it is, but the wall needs rework.
They should either up the timer a little bit or they should make the activation silent
I think it’s a lil bit much on the nerf, maybe bring back 2 kill reset but still had 12s duration or no kill reset but longer duration
I think the problem is more like teams uses Iso as single duelist. Whilst Fnatic imo got the best setup for Iso. They run on double duelist this ensure the most effective play for them as they can no longer play the time game as they used to do last year. With fnatic having this double duelist setup. It forces them to play aggressive. Alfajer can comfortably do what he is suppose to do with his mechanics. And that is to hunt for kills. Whilst still have Derke as their primary duelist. With hiro coming in, this also ensure fnatic flexibility in terms of other types of playstyle if Alfajer dies. I think this is the reason to why Fnatic looks very dominant with iso setup but other teams not.

they need to add a recharge timer instead, so he doesnt constantly regain a shield, and up the time the shield lasts from 12>>>15 seconds
I think a two kill recharge would be fair but a fuel gauge for it wouldn't be bad either like 40 second recharge or someting like that.

Results does not necessarily mean something is good. If a pro runs classic only and drops 50, that doesn’t suddenly mean that the classic is meta

Being result oriented isn’t a good thing in pro play. During 3v1 if a player just swings alone isolated and kills that one guy would you call it a good play because “he got the kill”, he may very well loose that 50-50 and potentially the round.

Is this like the mid tmv take where he said buying sheriff on pistols is bad when it turns out the current best team GenG has the best pistol winning percentage with always buying 2-3 sheriffs?? You haven't even shown the best examples of ISO countering the OP especially the Haven games. The game is at the stage where everyone can cook and make anything work. Arm chair analysts about to be laid off.

The last example on Haven makes no sense. We are watching defender rounds, with lack of info being the issue or "gap" in the comp, yet we are blaming it on the Iso? What info does Neon get us then? More to the point, if we have a comp that lacks info gathering util, then we need to change how we play defender rounds. Start getting aggressive, clear out spaces, make contact. There are other ways to get info than relying on crutch abilities that give you wallhacks lol. This is one of the differences between ranked Valo and Pro play. Pros fall into the same line of thinking, the same comps, play the map the same ways over and over. In ranked, you get 3 instalocks and have to figure it out. What we see from that though is creative ways in which to play the game, something you dont see often in pro play. You can make TH comp work, but you cant play it the same way as GX.
If the argument is "Iso takes up a slot that could be used for Initiator, because we still need a dive duelist," then yeah, but that applies to all other duelists too. Same old issue of Jett and Raze being meta, with Yoru or Neon being the only options to compete. But thats not an issue of the agent, thats an issue with the game in general, as well as teams lack of drive to find something outside of meta.
the icebox round (TLN DRX) is a bad example as well. They hit into 4 players (KJ was waiting for the KAY/O knife and had her util down on default)

The utility is a part of the game? How are u supposed to take any space without information? You can’t contact into choke points for a reason. You can’t js swing out of a smoke for the same reason. You need some info at least to formulate a plan for taking any space. Neon is not the problem because she has the kit to take the space given the information and supporting utility from the rest of the team. This is a tactical fps, you cannot blame the the game design for agents being better than one another, and that’s why some agents will always be meta and some delegated to ranked demons. Team heretics can get away with it because all of them are extremely mechanically skilled and woot has arguable the best aim in the world.

I'm writing this before watching this video, the only thing I heard so far is that Iso being good now is up for discussion. It's not, he got the most broken ability this game has ever seen, there is no discussion he's the most broken agent in the game rn.

@@melato4737 strongest untradeability mechanic in the game paired with a significantly increased duel conversion that also has a built-in snowball. Essentially denies awping which, on a map like Icebox, is the main win con defenders have if they want to gain an advantage. Kill Contract for 7 ult points, an ability that is essentially grants a free kill if the Iso has shield or the enemy has a weaker weapon, and even if that isn’t the case, you still ripped out a site anchor that will go 1v1 at most and gets suppressed while being in kill contract.
Let’s not even start with the more obscure benefits like beating the Odin spam on ascent B main with Contigency.
I genuinely don’t understand how you can look at this kit and come to the conclusion that you still need dive
