This just solidifies my belief of how ahead of time FNS was as an IGL.
Oh definitely, and gotta also shout out my boy boaster too, always been a meta definer like FNS
Yeah both boaster and FNS made heaven meta what it is. Kinda interesting to wonder what would happen if potter, frod and some other coaches looked into haven more.
@@fernandoioio8196yeah.. ppl are yapping about fns when it’s just saadhak and maybe boaster

Fns led envy, a pretty good team to champs, and also led optic, arguably one of the best teams in Valorant history, while also allowing probably the best Valorant player in 2022, Yay to make his plays. That’s pretty good to me.
When I started Valorant, I despised Haven. As of end of episode 7, it's my best map in terms of personal stats and in winrate in ranked games. When I played in tournaments, Haven matches would always end up being the most intense and fun. Hope they bring the map back quickly. Great video, Platoon!
I’m so fucking sad right now. It’s not gonna be back next act
Incredible video, the storytelling was great and hit on a lot of cool points. This is a minor nitpick, but I just wanted to mention that Reykjavik 2021 was deep in the post plant meta with both Astra and Viper being at their strongest points arguably ever. V1 showed a really interesting viper comp with post plant B lineups from spawn, which is interesting because of how early on they caught onto both the value of B post plants as well as viper’s potential value (though their innovations didn’t stick past the later viper nerfs)
great video!
to me this just highlights how insane viper is on this map. the fact that riot devs showed a viper wall during the playtest in 2020 that would be almost identical to the meta wall for viper comps in 2023 is crazy to me. her ability to block off both early peeks from short and the cross to long (and paired with a harbor cascade) is super strong. the orb on A to cover short and cut up the site also allows for lightning fast retakes that catch the attack off guard, as well as insanely good anchoring possibilities. and the C wall on defense does the same thing, making it super awkward for attackers to push through.
sad to see haven leave the map pool, but i'm certain if it didn't the teams would have predominantly be playing viper. she's just that good. to be honest i wish you talked some more about it, but it probably deserves its own video.
i was just hovering over your channel looking for a new video today and here it is 5 hours later on my fyp
Great vid. Would’ve loved to have you talk about the TGRD viper comp and how it has changed the way teams have played especially A site. It also has a stormy impact on A because of the wall that blocks of vision for defenders.
Thank you so much for the informative and in depth guide on the haven meta! I will be sure to remember this when I play haven
…oh wait.
Such a unique map, I'd never seen a three site map before and it really challenged a lot of pre-conceived notions about how to both attack and defend in games like this
great video, it was very well researched and interesting from beginning to end
great vid. imo you couldve talked a bit more about the viper comps (with either omen aswell) and how the wall on defense makes the default mid turret (which was used for so long) pretty useless and the lurk potential with the attack a wall. also the viper orb on a to stall retakes. as i said would have loved to see you go more into detail with that, but still lovin the video and how much effort was put into it
Great video as usual
great video, thanks for that!!
Great vid my homie.
Would have been a lot funnier if you featured that one playoffs Haven match between DRX and Team Secret, where Team Secret just rushed A every time.
please do it for more maps, your data back video is soo good.
I can’t wait to see the new agent since it’s most likely going to be a controller and if it is I’m really excited to see how it affects future the haven meta since double controller is the most popular team comp right now on pretty much every map. If they are enough like a duelist, setinal, or imitator too we could even see a triple controller meta. Of course we’ve seen loud try that on bind but it would be cool to see a actual consistent comp being played
Would have loved to see you cover the mid fight more that takes place with Viper vs KJ. Attackers put turret garage side of mid on the little box and eventually (I believe it was TGRD or something) started using their Viper wall just to block off that turret's sightline, so they could creep mid earlier in the round if they wanted.
Literally, right before Haven was removed. People started to aggressed ahead to A Lobby in 2024. 2022 was the meta when I start playing this game at the end of Champions 2022. And I find out how to learn and play the game. I still love the game, it just takes time to learn a lot.
this is a really good video. i like the balance between statistical analysis and game analysis. really nice showcase of emergent gameplay in comp shooters.
itll be worth doing the same for other maps and studying how they change over time
or maybe also analysing agents and studying how they are played over time.
Great suggestions thanks for the comment!
I just love the idea of the video
awesome video!!
I miss haven so much
definitely one of your best videos, are we gonna see more of these kind of videos?
Definitely possible in the future!
Love your videos.
my favourite haven tech is the c main viper wall launch
Dont even play this game but this was still fun to watch, cool video
I feel like there should have been mention of what GC Champs 2023 haven looked like because there was some interesting stuff coming from it.
This video is not only a great analysis of heaven's meta evolution, but also a recap on valorant history. Man I don't believe this game released 3 years ago already.
i’d love to see how the different gun balances affected the meta / locations of deaths related to what was strong (judge / bucky meta = more deaths garage and A short)?
Really cool idea considering it for a future video!
Gonna be funny when he does ascent. Same meta since the start
Subbed
thanks bro now i have another reason to love boaster
Please make a video on how bostio can help 100t as an igl
In map, concerns taking haven out instead of ascent is the worst decision they made about the map pool. It was a fantastic map that had so much diversity especially at this moment.
Maybe they thought since haven was in the game for so long, they wanted it to be changed? Im not disagreeing with you in taking out ascent tho, it shouldve been ascent as it’s the most boring map to watch and it’s pretty much the same comp most of the time
Bring this gem back. Banish sunset, ice box and ascent for pearl and fracture
Man I will miss this map as this was the map I gote my ace for the first time.
I mean fns my goat, what can I say…..
now do this for ascent! oh wait
hold on this guy is giving us the new meta strats. Lets bring them to comp!!!!
how about we do an Ascent meta evolution
Please do it for other maps 🙏
a video on why breeze comps haven’t changed since the beginning of time pls? 😂
I’d love to see a championship game with a brand new map never even teased before. How would the pros react?
this video is awesome
13:30 dark time of valorant
WAKE UP BABE PLATOON POSTED
just finished watching, it's so criminal how ascent stayed in while haven got rotated:(
In the first match team brax vs team geng I saw that a player named elige was playing
Is that complexity cs player elige who used to play for liquid cs or some random named elige?
Yep that was him
I wanna get back in time with all my knowledge and play pro tournaments...
as a CS vet, trying val for the first time on launch, i thought haven was stupid and unmanageable. THREE sites?? insanity
by the time i was ready to quit val (dec 2023), playing astra on haven was the only thing keeping me going.
also, clean vid, love it
I will be stealing this idea for ascent 😂 oh wait
Lets see if he predicts a lot correctly when the map comes back
3:47 negative ping😢
I want to know why immortal roadmap only have people like 6th man (no disrespect) and also because proguides and skilled capped also promised a 5 division rank up
i love how haven went from everyones most hated map to their favorite
Everyone forgot what Breeze and IB was like 😂
This map is so gooood, bring it back asap ;(
i miss haven they shouldve removed ascent
100%, ascent is much more boring than haven
you're tripping, they should've removed Breeze over accent any day of the week
@cameronjohnson5855 hell no, breeze just came back, removing ascent would've been best choice
banger video
I think if haven was not rotated out, ae would have seen the guard meta this year
I miss haven
If Ascent was removed instead of Haven, Viper truly would have a high pick rate into 2024.
I don’t even play valor ant I’m watching this
you dont talk enough about the Viper Omen meta that is considered to be the best. Plant B and play lineups with viper and KJ mollie, then spam from mid window.
True I could have gone over that stage a bit more and detailed developments on B. Thanks for the comment!
i feel like i improved from watching this
why did the thumbnail n title go through like three identity crises lmao. nice video tho
LOL life of a content creator... 😭😭
@@platoonvalafter the title and thumbnail changed it finally made me click and watch the video so I guess it works
BRING HEAVEN BACK!
Right now, we have by far the worst map pool ever. Breeze, Icebox, Sunset, Lotus. All of those maps simply aren't fun. Bind is meh and Split feels like a coin flip in competitive, i like Ascent, but the map has tons of issues too, especially b side. Every map is Cypher/Viper forcing you to play default almost every round on attack, with the exception of Icebox, where you literally just send it on a 9/10 rounds. Add the new gun, and the economy of 90% of your solo queue games is a complete disaster.
I feel like they're on their way to making the same mistakes they did with league 5 years ago. Too much new stuff, while simultaneously getting rid of stuff that people like. The game is slowly losing it's identity, for the sake of, what exactly? I get that everyone almost always buying light shield was an issue, but the solution just sucks so bad. Losing pistol is just so much worse now and even in buy rounds you struggle and either you play bad guns for usually buy rounds, or you don't buy full utility. Both scenarios aren't fun for anyone. I've literally been shit on from teams where 2 people buy outlaw every single round and i've never had less fun playing valorant.
instead of how the meta evolved... I feel like valorant meta is still so bad. Not of the Meta strats are really able to fight equal to equal with some "non meta" strats.
For example. If you play Harbor+Viper on Lotus and play info denial, you can get away with so much. Just isolate your fights all over the map. Take one, take 2. They have so much util, and if harbor only uses high tide, he will have it until full exec. Also, Harbor is the only controller that allows dominating the bomb in 3 sectors ALONE. It does take skill and a higher sensi player, but it's easy to do, honestly. And i never saw nobody diving a bomb into 3.
I honestly say the same to Bind and Haven. So much untapped potential in one agent, never used.
I think ascent shouldve been the one removed 😢
what about breeze/sunset/lotus😊
we removed haven for one of the worst fucking map pools ive ever seen
Not only was Haven one of the first maps, it was one of the BEST maps (fuck ascent all my homies hate ascent)
It did a great job 😢
Can’t wait till the map comes back ruined by the changes
Talking about Haven without mentioning Vision Strikers at all is actually criminal considering their usage of Breach on Haven was years ahead of the meta.
I guess I never said their old team name before becoming DRX, but they are featured multiple times (even as VS!) and also explicitly credited for their Breach + Sova play. They definitely heavily influenced the meta!
@platoonval Ah, yeah you're right my bad. I totally missed it. I think it's important to notice how they heavily controlled A lobby on defense as well as attack and their flash/dash plays that became super popular across different metas. Also OpTic/NRG's usage of fakes.
edit: rewatched the full thing again and wanted to mention that this is a great video. apologies on the earlier confusion
brother the game is not old enough to make this video
A bit late now that haven's no longer in the map pool...
