My preorder for Metroid Prime 4 is still on amazon. I made that order in October 2017 when Amazon did 20% off preorders. It still says $50.53.
Omgg same!! It still on my pre order with that discount 😂
Same lol
Same for me. I miss the 20% off pre-orders deal.
Awesome to see that! Mine got canceled by Amazon
Holy, I didn't even realize til now I still have mine pre ordered as well.
Biggest surprise was the fact that switch sports is not dead.
Still waiting in disc golf
High key, I was super excited still have it downloaded didn’t expect that
It's probably because it sold way better than most people, including me, suspected. Over 13.1 million copies as of the last quarterly earnings report.
@@OfficerCosgrove Got crushed on Metacritic nearly as bad as Pokemon S/V which sold even better. A lot of buyer's remorse.
At this point I just thought nintendo would've moved on and iterated this instead. Next time giving us more like the wii sports resort version a much better package but I guess not
I mean, when you have Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong and THE Metroid Prime 4, all in one direct, it’s getting a 10/10 no matter what, but everything else was pretty cool too
DK fans still being felt slapped in the face
@@therealjaystone2344 DK fans have it good...imagine the pain being an F-Zero fan.
@@psylencecy fzero fans are used to be in pain
Plus that game from the maker of FF that New RPG that was the 3rd game shown
When you have games like Tom Cruise in them you can't LOSE
Switch started with Breath of the Wild as a cross-gen title, now it’s ending with Metroid Prime 4. What a ride, ladies and gentlemen.
It could have 1 more in the belt look at snes Kirby dream land 3 came out a little over a year after the Nintendo 64 released
Also nintendo supported there handheld at least 2 years after the successor released
@@gumpyflyale2542Or as recently as the 3DS having Fire Emblem Echoes Shadows of Valentia, Metroid Samus Returns, and WarioWare Gold after the Switch released.
Nintendo Switch won this console gen
Yes. What a ride has it been for my bank account, too.
As an equities investor, Nintendo has paid me well over the last 7 years. 🤣🤑
Can't believe a game announced right after the switch launched will be its swan song and beginning of the next system.
Its been longer, but its similar to Botw. It was announced two years into the Wii Us lifespan, and launched day one on Switch. It skyrocketed the switch and its own series to unseen heights. I can only hope that the next trailer for MP4 can do the same for Metroid and the next console. A man can dream.
where have i heard this before 🤔
Dragon Quest 3 then the pan over to 1-2 was so hype
This reveal was indeed great to hear!
I no joke started getting watery eyes. Cannot wait for these games. I hope they sell amazing and maybe we can get more 2D-HD remakes of other classic Dragon Quest games. I would love to see Dragon Quest VII in this style as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the 3DS remake, I still feel the PS1 game was superior.
After playing Prime Remastered, i can see the hype behind 4. The reveal of the direct for me was DQ1-3 R
I had the same exact reaction haha. I only ever played 2D metroid games till the Prine 1 remaster and now I want 2 and 3 remastered. But damn that Dragon quest game looks so good. I'm definitely getting all 3 on their respective release dates.
I am hoping Nintendo does drop or even shadow drop Metroid Prime 2 & 3 on their next direct for those who haven’t played these games. I actually have more memories of playing 1 & 2 on the GameCube fondly, but Prime 3 I’m pretty sure I beat but I cannot recall.
I may have to play 2 and 3 again since I have the trilogy collection physically and digitally sooner than later just in case we don’t get remasters for those. Again I really hope we do because it would make sense to get the whole story prior to Prime 4.
17+ N64 games pretty much confirms we will see the squirrel at some point and that’s gonna make people go nuts.🌰
Conquer? I hope so.
I NEED THAT SQUIRREL!!!!
Idiots on Twitter are gonna complain
My cousin!
big breasted flowers!
Butters is still jumping in excitement about Hello Kitty Island Adventure
This direct was so packed there wasn't even a sizzle reel.
If they're doing a whole 17+ section. I just want conquers
I still wait for Body Harvest.
You can't even spell "Conker" right 😢
Dude probably using voice typing. @@NickJR528
Definitely waiting for that one
Don’t get your hopes up, Nintendo hates the game.
"Yeah, Switch is on its way out, this is the dead zone, so we'll just have some remakes and indies from n..." - And then today happened. New Mario+Luigi. New Super Mario Party. New Zelda. New Metroid Prime. And people are complaining about not getting the remakes pundits had been guesstimating for the past few years. ;P
I agree, creators like this are always thinking they are predicting the next console and are usually wrong. He predicted an Xbox handheld at the Xbox event and was wrong. The only people that know the end of switch is Nintendo and it’s still a great console so I think they will squeeze it for what it’s worth.
@@laurencewp782 I don't think the Switch will end, either. They'll keep at least one or two Switch 1 machines around a lower prices. It has a terrific library now - and the Switch 2 will a) need some time to get its library up and b) probably cost a lil' bit more, too. Remember the New 2DS? Came out after the Switch's release. We might get a new Nintendo Switch lite miniLED or OLED model sometime in 2025, too.
Nintendo knows its all about the games. Who gives a fuck about hardware if the games don't excite you like they once did.
Man.... for me there's only two systems now- steam deck (PC) and Nintendo switch
@@Matanumi you can say that again. Just got a gaming PC and love it.
I was very surprised to see some of the responses to Jon's tweet that the direct was mid or underwhelming. So many surprises for new games and remakes but people are stuck on Twilight Princess and Wind Waker HD - both of which are playable on PC through emulation if you want to get your fix. Or legally you can play on Wii or Wii U
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom looks fantastic. My most wanted game.
I love when reveal trailers just show actual gameplay and let it speak for itself. I'm tired of the soulless CG trailers we tend to get in these presentations.
Nintendo rarely makes those.
Marvel vs Capcom collection was the best thing shown. MVC2 is finally free.
More important than Marvel 2, we finally get official rollback for Marvel 1, X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs. SF, MSH vs. SF for the first time outside of Fightcade 2 (and emulation of awful PS1 ports via the awesome Duck Station emulation for all PS1 games!).
This is going to be fantastic. Hopefully this means we are getting a Capcom/SNK collection after this, as well as Marvel vs. Capcom 5, Capcom vs. SNK 3, and SNK vs. Capcom 2!
Sadly the Physical is only available on PS4 :(
FINALLY! It's been so many years expecting those games. The only "console" I have to play most of those games (except for MVC2) was my Analogue Pocket and now I can play them all in my Switch
@faceurhell I agree. Only fighting game collections left that I want are Capcom vs SNK and Saturday Night Slam Masters.
@@VEN0M415 REALLY?! WHY?! EDIT: I just checked the site and says "digital/physical" but doesn't say PS4 only.
No mention of the fact that GBA A Link to the Past on NSO means official Four Swords Online for the first time? Even though they went out of their way to clarify that?
Agreed! I'm expecting Prime 4 to be a cross platform release; like Zelda BOTW
The direct was great, especially for a system that is in its final stages
Good job Nintendo
Yeah good job not bringing twilight or waker to the switch 🤦♂️
I think that is the most likely scenario
@@RobynHood1021 maybe next direct.
I was sort of hoping for HD remasters of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. But after the Echoes of Wisdom announcement I'm actually fine that they didn't come. They might even be shadow dropped in the next direct which will probably be just after the launch of Echoes of Wisdom
They gotta save something for switch 1 2025 to keep supporting it at least 2 years into switch 2 I mean with a 150 plus million install base they won't have a choice
This was a solid Nintendo Direct. A great surprise was Mario & Luigi, and MP4 caught me off guard too.
Echoes of Wisdom seems more like taking the concept of Tears of the Kingdom and applying it with that sort of style.
This is the fourth remake of dq3
NES, SNES, GBC, Android, HD2D.
I'm not complaining though. The game is a true masterpiece and people should experience it however they can.
Technically Super Famicom, but agreed. That Super Famicom remake of Dragon Quest III and Dragon Quest I&II are the best versions of all of those games in my opinion.
Hopeful that we eventually get Rare’s whole catalog of games they made for Nintendo.
That 17+ app is absolutely proof we are getting Conker at some point.
Was kind of expecting more small remasters to help pad out the year, but a new Zelda and Mario & Luigi will be great for helping the switch keep on selling. Plus I have such a backlog, it’s not like a need a whole lot more first party stuff.
With AAA game reveals looking more and more like movie trailers, it's nice to see a gaming showcase look like a show of...you know...games.
I was also hoping for Metroid Prime 2 remastered shadow drop
I was hoping for Windwaker and Twilight Princess Switch ports.
@@crystalwater505 TP is still one of my most anticipated re-releases.
I had very low expectations for the final year of the system, but this Direct was full of games that look worth playing. The new Mario Party should be perfect for Christmas Break gaming.
This ain't the final year of the Switch. It's got years left.
@@BigSnippI think they meant the last year where the switch is the main focus
Dq 1 and 2 are relatively short games so it kind of makes sense to bundle them i guess.
The Metroid Prime 4 trailer definitely looked good enough to be a next gen Nintendo game. I guess we'll see.
It looked good for Nintendos sake but still looks like a ps3 game at best
@AccursedHawk Yeah, Halo 4 looks pretty comparable and that came out on the 360.
It seems like it will be cross gen
It looks like Metroid Prime Remastered. Really hoping Switch 2 looks better.
Have in mind that you are looking at Metroid Prime's Switch version. If it is a release title for next console, it will look different on it.
EDIT: I just checked Halo 4. It does not look like Halo 4. :D Cmon. Not that Halo 4 looks bad. It's very stylish and pleasing honestly. But Prime 4 looks more detailed and with better and more imaginitive lighting and shading than Halo 4.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure ❤
Makes me think of Butters in that WOW episode when everyone else was playing WOW he was playing this 🤣
QueefyBoy would love to play that
@@jamesho8258 my first thought as well.
A lot of women and cozy game lovers were looking forward to this news
My girlfriend is incredibly excited for that one. I was telling her to try Apple Arcade to play it but now she can use her Switch next year for it!
For anyone having trouble with Perfect Dark's controls: Swap Left and Right Joysticks on the Switch's button mapping settings, change controls to 1.2 in the game's control settings and uncheck inverted aim. As close to modern controls as you can get!
>Modern controls
Soulless.
Or just play the Xbox remaster lol
@@Christopher-md7tf I know it's hard to believe but...not everyone owns an Xbox.
@@smpiano6605 Well, those that do, can play the remaster. Hope that clears things up 👍
Man I've wanted perfect dark on Nintendo online for so long now that's it's here I couldn't really care
It was great!!! especially for a system on its 8th year!!! Wow, so many games in this direct that I wanna buy!!!
I feel MP4 Beyond will be a launch title for Switch 2 or whatever it ends up being named.
They're gonna do the same thing they did with Breath of the wild. It's gonna be a launch title as well as a title on this current hardware.
Cross gen title
Most likely
I feel like non-fgc heads dont realize how much of a miracle an mvc collection is. The last time marvel 2 was available for purchase on a modern console was in 2012.
Dawg I just want mvc3, I wanna whoop ass with amaterasu :(
SAME!!!! ☀️🐕@@darcidious99
That direct would be already great if were years ago. But the fact it was this packed when the next console might be coming next year? That was insane.
Nintendo knows its about the games.
Don't bullshit market the console- sell the games and give people what they want- finish fun experiences
High marks to Nintendo for setting up the transition phase almost flawlessly.
That MvC collection is a day 1 buy for me.
Phantom Brave lowkey caught my interest this direct. Im actually looking forward to it almost as much as Zelda
Well, the only Mega Man related news we got there was the Marvel Vs Capcom Arcade Fighting Collection, but overall, good direct (also Miles Edgeworth has the Ace Attorney collection treatment).
this is the first time in a very long time that ive given a direct an A rank
Same. Might be trheir best one ever. 😁Wish I could say the same about Xbox.😖
@@OtakuUnderground92 Xbox's showcase was pretty great, what are you talking about? Sony and Summer Game Fest were the underwhelming ones.
This direct was very strong, as was the Xbox show. Sony however was a snoozefest.
I'm extremely hyped for the Capcom fighting collection especially for the online matches!
Nintendo once again raising the bar by showing only (or mostly) pure gameplay or in-engine things.
When will these corpos get a CGI trailer that means nothing in the game is just a waste of resources, ESPECIALLY when the games on Series X look good anyway in 2024…
9/10 Direct
So... Xbox and Nintendo gave good shows, and Sony fell flat.
Sony’s big equivalent showcase, or State of Play, is in September, and they are obviously saving their major reveals for the ps5 pro release.
So…if they fall flat then, you came make that same cynical comment and feel validated. But for now, your comment looks premature, foolish and uninformed.
No need for that lil bro
Sony getting high on their pony again.
Xbox hasn't had a good game in 10 years bro. Chill
@@makasete30cope
If you play as Zelda shouldn't it be called the legend of link?
I was hoping they’d do that too! Unironically
Turok 1 is already on switch with the nightdive port, there's no reason to put that there.
I'm pretty sure the point is to have people go "yikes" after trying out the original and realizing the remake is worth it.
lol imagine that, but its nintendo we're talking about so everything is possible
Mahvel is back baby!
I love how the video title could be referring to any of those games in the thumbnail.
I see that wink "probably September October"
Not to tell you how to spend your money, but please get MVC collection. The more people who buy, the better chance of a physical copy and a release of MVC3. Also possibly a SF Alpha Collection with Alpha 3 Max.
Will put forth my money for the cause. Been waiting for MvC2 to come to Switch since they announced the Switch.
Marvel vs. Capcom Collection with every game from X-Men: Children of the Atom to Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is a dream! Hopefully they have crossplay (at least between PS4 and PC), low input delay to match or perform better than Arcade + Dreamcast (the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were almost that good), better netcode than Fightcade 2, and the ability to play music from one game in another (playing Marvel 2 with the same 6 songs gets kind of old; let me play Children of the Atom songs or even pay for DLC for Street Fighter music!).
Really hope this all leads to Marvel vs. Capcom 5 , because if that is combined with the inevitable Capcom / SNK Collection and Capcom vs. SNK 3/SNK vs. Capcom 2 (after Terry and Mai being confirmed for Street Fighter 6)... we will truly be back into the greatest era of crossover fighting games!
Been watching this channel for years now and I’ve been waiting for this day for this man to finally get any update regarding Metroid prime 4! Seems like all this man wants was this for the past 7 years lol
Did not see a new Mario & Luigi coming, I wonder who is making it? Bros. Move effects making me think Next Level Games.
Anyway, MP4 looking good and without an exact release date announced, to me that just confirms a hybrid/cross release on Switch 1 & 2.
A rating Direct to me. A lot of surprises.
Yeah, Switch will definitely become the best-selling system ever, 100%. It's far from dead.
Prime 4 is what got me to buy the system way back in 2017.
Now it’s a game that marks an end to an era. I still can’t believe the wait is finally over.
There is no way this was the last Direct focus on Switch. Next fall we wont see any Switch2 game at all and there are still few games to realease (Metroid 2 and 3 remaster, Zelda WW/TP HD, etc). Im excited about the Switch in YEAR 8.. wow
Still no Wind Waker or Twilight Princess oof. But hey Echoes of Wisdom looks cool
A+ in my book JUST for Fantasian releasing (looks like the rumors were true) AND AND AND **FINALLY** a surprise Dragon Quest trilogy HD 2D Remake release date yaaaayyy!!!!!! \o/ 😁😆😂 EDIT: Oh and Metroid Prime 4 for the fans! 😜
A Link to the Past Four Swords is actually so much hype considering that now you can easily play 4 co-op online.
This was an absolute banger direct.
I don't know how anybody in a sound state of mind could say this direct was bad or even average. There was so much variety. Old school RPGs, action RPGs, FPS, fighting games, indie platformers, party games, adventure games, puzzle games, cozy games, and some kids' games to boot. And so much of it was established big IPs like Zelda, Mario, Capcom Vs, Metroid, and Dragon Quest. If you found nothing you were interested in, your tastes are either extremely niche, or you're just incapable of being happy.
I agree, I'm not a Nintendo guy, but even I thought this showcase was really good. Easy 8.5/10, and definitely the second best showcase of the summer behind the Xbox one IMO.
Sony State of Play and Summer Game Fest were mediocre at best.
honestly Im a bit tired of the cozy/farm games by now… thats the only thing that I find an issue with. But it was a really good presentation
😂 Niche? Unhappy? I already have plenty of games to play across different genres. And considering there's such a thing as PC, Playstation and Xbox why would I rate a presentation based on the random third party games when those platforms offer much better experiences. Nintendo are the ones that chose not to compete with them when they made the Switch, so I rate presentations based on their own franchises and they have plenty. Where is Animal Crossing? Not even a spin off and they ditched the game after 1 DLC. There's a Fire Emblem remake that's been credibly rumoured to be pretty much finished for over a year now. Ironically enough both of these franchises are mobile game cashcows now, what a coincidence! Other than Metroid all I saw in this was Mario, Mario, Zelda, Mario, Zelda, so yes, it was your average presentation. Just because there are people who don't automatically lick Nintendo's ass with every dump they take doesn't mean they're crazy. Crazy is thinking your personal opinions and preferences are facts and words to live by.
Yeah Prime 4 is 100% what Zelda BOTW was to the Switch, it's a Nintendo IP that launches on the new console day 1 and the old one at the same time. After everything this game and Retro has gone through to make this happen they deserve the honor of being that launch game, so happy cannot wait man!
Still no Wind Waker/Twilight Princess or Prime 2 & 3 ports. At this point I don’t think those are ever getting released.
Yeah I'm a little bummed about that too. I believe that if they were to be released it will be for the Switch 2.
The best thing about this direct is that everyone got something to look forward to. Too many directs went on for 30-40 minutes and had just garbage time and time again. This one. This one was for us
P.S. It would have been nice to see in time reactions with a recap afterwards to show off your talking points. :D
8:08 It make sense though, zelda was always a magic user except for that time she was sheik (and also as a soul controlling the knight armor in spirit tracks).
@@billcook4768 Doubt it, feels unnecessary since the focus is the new mechanic.
Prime 4 is 100% a launch title for switch 2.
The LOD and framerate was way too high for switch hardware.
I'm looking forward to it!
How you know?
He is the dude @@shawnsmith564
Nah this was probably Switch gameplay, the new engine Retro made with Prime remastered is clearly being used and Prime Remastered hands down was the best looking Switch game. This will look even better on Switch 2
@@shawnsmith564 He's lying. He doesn't know anything.
Might be, but as of yet it's still a Switch game. You can see low res assets in the distance, and looks comparable to Prime Remastered, and the end of the trailer you can see the Nintendo Switch logo.
Today's Nintendo Direct was pretty good. We finally saw Metroid Prime 4 and had a few other great announcements. I'd place a strong bet that Nintendo has an A-list lineup of games they'll showcase when they do the Switch 2.
This Marvel vs Capcom collection is a HUGE deal. None of these games were available on modern platforms, and now they're here, online included. But the more important thing is that it may potentially open the door maybe, to Capcom working with Marvel again. Which means, there is a slight percent of a shade of a chance we're gonna get another Marvel vs Capcom game.
Easily a 9/10 Direct, at least. MP4 is real.
Sylux was my favorite hunter in metroid prime hunters so im super excited to see him back in prime 4
I went ice skating on the river Styx after they revealed Prime 4
How much must Nintendo hate Wind Waker, at this point we just have to accept its not coming.
Or maybe, hear me out, the leakers were lying and they never intended to put WW on Switch
Shut Up, dont say such a Thing! There is still Hope, there is Second Direct this year ☹️
I still don’t believe Prime 2 and 3 are coming to the Switch and never really did lol
@@Crafty_boy70they definitely plan to, it’s Nintendo, everything gets re released
Hate WW? They ported it to WiiU. I think you're being irrational
That was a great Nintendo Direct, so glad we finally got Metroid Prime 4 and the unexpected Mario & Luigi.
Just happy to know that Prime 4 exists. Can not wait.
I actually really loved the Links Awakening art style and game. So that Zelda one looks interesting.
People talking about graphics.. Nintendo has never been focused on that, the quality of games and inovation has always been first.
The N64 focused on graphics
They did pretty good graphics in n64 and gamecube.
That said, it depends on the game, they have art direction as the highest of all, with retro studios you can definitely expect really good graphics as well as a great art direction.
The Prime series was a great showcase for them though. This looks like Metroid Prime Remastered which is cool especially for Switch, but going into Switch 2 I really hope for a noticeable upgrade.
@@oliver_3185 disagree. The N64 had a crazy controller, which was the first with a joystick (if I recall, tell me if I'm wrong about it). The games were absolutely gorgeous regarding game design, there was great library of games and it was the first console to shift to 3D. So, not all about graphics, no.
@@mkjjoe I was starting to want to switch to steam deck, but then I thought - wait, I would only play Elden Ring - lol. And now Nintendo comes with these absolutely bangers.
Metroid Prime 4 is 99% being crossgen... wish makes me wonder, what if we got the teaser of the NS2... What if is called NS Beyond?
Metroid Prime 4 is probably to the Switch 1/2 what Zelda: Breath of the Wild was to the Wii U/Switch... the bridge game.
Happy about metroid prime 4. Ill be getting this day one. It looks like a ps3/360 era game but hey, ill take what i can get.
There is so much expectation on metroid prime 4 I don't think its possible to meet them.
This Nintendo Direct shows that Nintendo has become an extremely professional company that bases its decisions on its technical limitations, metrics and trends, legacy and strong gameplay. Its not necessarily bombastic, but its all very well thought through, well designed. I think Nintendo understands its fans better than the other two companies by far. Once more powerful hardware come around, i am curious to see how much of competition it will actually become to Sony and Microsoft. Pretty sure that sitting on the sidelines is over under this leadership.
So we are really getting gta 6 before metroid prime 4😭
How the tables have turned 😂
GTA VI is fall 2025, so likely not
Maybe but probably not
And then there is Elder Scrolls and Half Life, lmao
Man fuck GTA 6 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I just want metroid prime 4
I’d love to see some Turok: Rage Wars with online play. That was my friend group’s Halo.
I think we're gonna get a September Direct where they'll announce Prime 2 and 3. We still had recent info with Prime 2 from Grubb.
I've close to given up on Windwaker and Twilight Princess, but hopefully Nintendo pulls through. This did not feel like the last Switch Direct.
I hope so on the Prime front. But I just gave up on that. At this point I don’t even think they wanted to put resources behind them because of the MP remastered sales, probably were not what they hoped for.
Surprised about the WW TP remasters or ports not happening. I really think Nintendo just wants to be spiteful and give people exactly the opposite of what they ask for.
Agreed. Penultimate, but not the final. People complain about ports and remasters but I was actually hoping to see more of them than we did here. A lot of requested re-releases sorely absent this late- I think it proves they’re going to shovel them right at the end and in to 2025, next Direct.
@@syn3232 It really does feel that way, I'm sure Nintendo has reasons but I just want them to give us the remasters we're all asking for.

Metroid Prime 4 game of the decade.
Too early
Way too little shown for now. I want to be excited but hopefully Switch 2 really makes it shine and they didn't have to hold back too much...
Great titles shown. Especially MP4. Still disappointing that there wasn’t a WW/TP port though .
I'm just confused and frustrated on why Nintendo is holding them so close to their chest.
Why not bring those out this year and delay Echoes of Wisdom to 2025? Just doesn't make sense for them to be sitting on 2 finished titles for over 5 years.
@@supbro6505 I’m wondering the same. I’ve anticipated it the past few years, but this year, I really expected them to announce it.
What are they waiting for?

Lego God of War would be straight 🔥🔥🔥
My biggest hype moments were Marvel vs Capcom Collection, Romancing Saga 2 remake, Dragon Quest 1, 2 and 3 remakes, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Zelda, Metroid Zero Mission coming to GBA app and Metroid Prime 4.
The haters in the comments are insane PlayStation and xbox losers XD
Attention seeking kids not gamers
The Switch is going out with a bang
I’m really curious what next year will look like for Nintendo. I know Switch system sales are naturally dropping, but it feels like they may still have a lot of games to spread out next year. There has been a rumored new DK game, Fire Emblem game, the Zelda HD ports, Metroid Prime 2&3 remakes? (If those exist?) I could see that pushing Metroid Prime into the fall along with the new Switch System release.
I’m getting several of these games for sure
This does not look like Nintendo will be replacing the Switch soon. This is not something that is done to encourage people to buy a new system.
The second they show it, especially if backward compatible, attention will naturally shift.
@@mkjjoe sure. But not soon is my point.
@M3e36-99
I'm expecting 2025
Also, Nintendo generally supports their older hardware for a year or so after the new system releases
Switch is already becoming a "Remaster machine" which is pretty telling itself
@@nocfox3050 how are you expecting it? It has all been rumors.
@@M3e36-99they literally said it would be unveiled in this fiscal year, what are you talking about? You have till march 31st 2025 for it to be revealed, that's what 9 months away? Not long at all.
And right now they're gonna push for as many switch's as possible to make one last surge of income off of it. This is the smartest thing they could do, give the switch one last major push. You're not supposed to be sold on a new console because THEY HAVENT UNVEILED THE NEW CONSOLE.
The Switch is over 7 years old and yet it feels like as if Nintendo announced more first party games in this Direct than Sony in the past 2 years
Zelda Echoes of Wisdom was really the surprise of the direct and finally seeing an MP4 trailer was a great way to end. I thought it was actually pretty solid with a lot of variety. Fantasian will be great on the switch, DQ 3 looks really good as well. As much as this did not really look like a wind down from the present system but more of a wind up for the next one, I still would be hard pressed to identify a solid Game of the Year contender during either the first or second half, which makes me wish MP4 would be released this year rather than potentially getting lost in the flurry of Switch 2 launch titles.
Now they just gotta shadow drop prime 2 and 3 before 4 comes out 😏
New Mario and Luigi RPG and Metroid Prime 4? Let's go!
Easy A tier direct, imo Nintendo won E3.
Fantasian, Dragon Quest 3-1, MVC Collection, Ace Attorney Investigations collection, new Mario and Luigi, new Mario Party, new Danganronpa like, NSO games with four swords, Turock and Perfect Dark, new 2D Zelda and to top it off Metroid Prime 4.
Yes I think it's better than Xbox, because gameplay was shown for everything, no several minite lomg cinematic trailers, instead gameplay sold the games shown which is how it should be imo.
Did we watch the same Xbox showcase? Because last I checked, CoD Black Ops 6, Indiana Jones, Doom the Dark Ages, Avowed, Flight Simulator 2024, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Stalker 2, Age of Mythology Retold, Mixtape, Perfect Dark, Expedition 33, South of Midnight, Starfield Shattered Space, Wuchang Fallen Feathers, Metal Gear Solid Delta, Life is Strange Double Exposure, Sea of Thieves, Atomfall, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Winter Burrow, and MechaBreak ALL had just as much gameplay as any of the games at the Nintendo showcase did.
Only ones that had cinematic trailers were Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred (a game that's already out), World of Warcraft The War Within (a game that's already out), The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Road (a game that's already out), Fallout 76: Skyline Valley (a game that's already out), Dragon Age The Veilguard (got a gameplay reveal a few days later), Fable (had some small gameplay snippets), State of Decay 3, and Fragpunk.
That's 20 games w/ gameplay over 8 games w/out gameplay, and four of those games are games you already know the gameplay of because they already released years ago.
Also, sorry, but just because a showcase has more gameplay in it doesn't mean it's automatically better. If one showcase has 30 farming sims with tons of gameplay for each game, versus another showcase with mostly cinematic trailers for reveals of games like Half Life 3, GTA 6, etc. then the latter showcase is automatically better.
@@jimmythegamer2231 It was definitely not “just as much gameplay” as the Nintendo direct. 70% of the time spent on Indiana Jones was cinematic footage and we only had a few minutes of gameplay. Expedition 33 and South of Midnight (both games I’m excited for) had only a few seconds of actual gameplay footage and the rest was in cinematics (both in game and in engine).
Starfield was mostly in engine footage and not gameplay btw and you missed out Gears E day as only Cinematic. I don’t have crystal clarity on the rest and I’m not going to watch the whole thing again to see if there’s other discrepancies. Considering how you remember some announcements I’m definitely going to say we saw different events because some of the games you listed definitely had far less gameplay than you made out. (I should know I’ve rewatched the expedition trailer multiple times).
Sure more gameplay doesn’t equal better showcase but more gameplay is better than less gameplay overall. And considering the direct had tons of exclusive bangers (there were 2 farming sims not 30), far more gameplay and far more stylistic diversity I’m considering it better.
What a direct been waiting for a new m&L
Im surprised I didn't get a gamer reaction from jonwave
Eat shit Sony. Xbox and Nintendo cooked the hell out of yall!! Once I saw the Ryu Silhouette it was over! MvsC2 and X-Men vs Street Fighter!!
Metroid Prime 4, The Hundred Line, MvC2, DQ Trilogy, ACE ATTORNEY INVESTIGATIONS 2 FINALLY GETS LOCALIZED, Zelda Echos of Wisdom, MARIO AND LUIGI, and so much more. My weeb side even getting excited for Fairy Tail 2.
This was a great Direct. Nintendo and Xbox went pretty hard this year.
