Not really. With movie rights for X-Men leaving Fox and going to Disney, it makes sense that Disney is now open to allowing licensing for X-Men characters in other products to prepare for thier X-Men films. If Fox still had the movie rights, Disney would have continued to block this from happening.

It was probably cross promotion on Marvel's part that made them want to have this happen since those Capcom VS. games came out around the same time as the original X-men show.

Not that long ago, I considered getting a Saturn for X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Street Fighter. I decided against it, and I'm glad I did. 😊
Revealing this in a Nintendo Direct gives the game a much needed spotlight among casuals. It would have been a lot more hype to show it at Evo, but these games that are full of beloved characters can get a lot more attention this way. People who don't even play fighting games but love the Marvel cast are gonna be drawn to this, and that's great for the future of the franchise.
This was apparently also the 2nd most streamed Direct ever, with 2.9 million people tuning in. Even though an EVO reveal would have been great, this will give MVC much-appreciated exposure.

I have genuinely not been this excited for a videogame related release in years, I’m not a cynical person, I’m not someone who thinks modern games suck, just nothing has truly caught my attention these past couple years as much as this, Marvel vs. Capcom means the world to me personally, as I’m sure it does to everyone! These games have personally helped me through some of the hardest points in my life, especially the music, the music has inspired me to get into composing, going to school for it etc. I am more than happy our efforts culminated to something, we won guys!

I love MvC, but it was also my awakening to the fact that I am garbage at fighting games. I'd be playing in the arcade having a grand ol' time against the CPU, and then some guy who actually knew what he was doing would come along and destroy me in 20 seconds. Ahh....memories. XD
This was one of the best opening stingers to a video ever. Max' enthusiasm is infectious, I don't have nostalgia for any of these games (I'm not even sure if I'll pick up the collection), but him screaming at Cyber-Akuma put a smile on my face.

Bruh this just doesn’t work for sonic fans. We’ve wanted Sonic Unleashed ported on steam and we haven’t gotten anything. It sucks ass. Same can be said about SA3 but that’s different, they ain’t ready for that.

Surprising that the MVC Collection is the first one. A CVS Collection is all but confirmed at this point. Hopefully that includes SVC Chaos because despite its problems, I still like it and also it has gorgeous sprites.
CVS collection will come when it’s needed to market cvs3 I feel. This getting announced with cap recents surveys of who and what games they like I feel is a telling point.
Well I'm still holding out hope that Capcom listens to the survey and announces a Dino Crisis 1 Remake/possible Reboot in the RE Engine, or at the least announce a Dino Crisis HD Collection for modern platforms consisting of Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2, Dino Stalker, and Dino Crisis 3(Yes DC3 wasn't that bad of game all they need to do is fix some gameplay issues namely the at times problematic camera and give Sonya some more stages where she's playable and we're good). A Dino Crisis HD Collection complete with a physical release will be good as the only way right now to play at the least Dino Crisis 1, 2, and Dino Stalker on the PS5 is via the PSN Store and still don't know how long the PSN Store will last till Sony shuts it down.

Am I the only one who feels like you’re in a fever dream? I’m still stunned and in shocked that we’re here and it’s reality. I been waiting years for anything MVC related. To wake up to the news as the first thing I seen, it’s just..words can’t express the excitement and happiness I’m feeling rn. I can finally relive the experience of playing a game I mostly played in arcades and way back when. This game and UMVC 3 are in the top ten of my favorite games of all times. If anybody doubts Max's belief at what an Evo reaction would've been, understand that at the Sonic Symphony recently, they played the same trailer for Sonic X Shadow Generations 3 times and the audience erupted with cheering each time and just got louder and louder. MvC means a lot to me in a weird way. I’ve never actually played any of them that much, but as a kid in Okemos, Michigan, there was this place called Caesarland. It was Little Caesar’s version of Chuck E. Cheese, except way better, and it had an MvC cabinet. I don’t even remember what specific game it was but I remember being so entranced by it. Spider-Man was and still is my favorite super hero, and seeing a video game where you could fight other people as him was the coolest thing ever to my tiny brain and legit one of the things that got me the most excited to come whenever a friend had a birthday party there. I watched all the intros on the website and I think it was either Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter or Marvel Vs. Capcom 1. I remember Captain America and Spidey guaranteed being in the game, but I’m conflicted because I remember that if I stayed watching long enough, Spider-Man would do a sick combo on the screen, but I feel like I also remember Venom being playable? I’m 23 now and it’s been 15+ years since that time so my memory is a little hazy, but I know for a FACT Spidey and Cap were there. MvC is a core childhood memory for me even though I never owned any of the games in any capacity (I was a Nintendo kid) and can only remember actually playing it once or twice instead of watching in awe from a distance like I usually did. My college roommate had a Dreamcast and MvC2 so I got to mess around in it with him a little bit, but I’m excited to finally delve into this defining series of mine for myself and for the first real time later this year.

That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. It’s a shame arcade games like that have largely died out, I know console gaming has replaced it but I feel like there’s a sense of community brought by physical cabinets in third spaces that still has value even if you have a $500 console that can play whatever game just fine at home. I don’t see myself running any kind of business based on my current career path, but if life somehow pushes me in that direction someday, maybe I’ll try and set up a fighting game arcade cabinet in it so more kids can have experiences like we did.

I bought the MvC1 cabinet when it first came out. I didn't think Arcade1Up would get the licensing rights at the time due to the Disney/Marvel red tape. When the MvC2 cabinet was released, I commented if they had a trade-in program 😋

I got back into fighting games just after mvc2 was pulled from psn, had to buy ps2 and the game for around £40 from cex, so glad I can finally retire it

MvC2 was ported on consoles in the early 2010's. I downloaded MvC2 and Capcom v. SNK2 via the PS Store, in addition to Street Fighter 2 HD Remix. These 3 games are the sole reason why I still have my PS3!
I remember reading an article years ago that MVC: Infinite would have an update saying it would be called MVC4 and probably could have had more improvements. Wouldn’t mind a MVC3 update either.

We live in a timeline where darkstalkers and the mvc series are ported to modern systems,SF and Tekken are at the top for fighting games,and Capcom is booming with the RE series. My girlfriend hadn’t known about xmen until the show came out recently and cried multiple times for some of the episodes. These games may be a great further introduction
alot of people dont know this but Cyber Akuma WAS playable in Marvel vs Street Fighter but i beleive only on the PS1 version, and he was crazy hard to get the unlock condition for, if i recall you had to beat the entire arcade mode including him on a higher difficulty rating without losing a single round, then he was accessed on the roster screen by a button combination while hovering over the portrait of i beleieve Akuma and for those asking, no i did not do that on a hacked rom, i did it on a retail PS1 copy i still own to this day after hearing about it online

Not really. With movie rights for X-Men leaving Fox and going to Disney, it makes sense that Disney is now open to allowing licensing for X-Men characters in other products to prepare for thier X-Men films. If Fox still had the movie rights, Disney would have continued to block this from happening.

Revealing this in a Nintendo Direct gives the game a much needed spotlight among casuals. It would have been a lot more hype to show it at Evo, but these games that are full of beloved characters can get a lot more attention this way. I have genuinely not been this excited for a videogame related release in years, I’m not a cynical person, I’m not someone who thinks modern games suck, just nothing has truly caught my attention these past couple years as much as this, Marvel vs. Capcom means the world to me personally, as I’m sure it does to everyone! These games have personally helped me through some of the hardest points in my life, especially the music, the music has inspired me to get into composing, going to school for it etc. I am more than happy our efforts culminated to something, we won guys!
Funny thing is a lot of the good modern games (or remakes) that have been coming out have also been made by Capcom

I love MvC, but it was also my awakening to the fact that I am garbage at fighting games. I'd be playing in the arcade having a grand ol' time against the CPU, and then some guy who actually knew what he was doing would come along and destroy me in 20 seconds. Ahh....memories. XD
This was one of the best opening stingers to a video ever. Max' enthusiasm is infectious, I don't have nostalgia for any of these games (I'm not even sure if I'll pick up the collection), but him screaming at Cyber-Akuma put a smile on my face.

Well I'm still holding out hope that Capcom listens to the survey and announces a Dino Crisis 1 Remake/possible Reboot in the RE Engine, or at the least announce a Dino Crisis HD Collection for modern platforms consisting of Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2, Dino Stalker, and Dino Crisis 3(Yes DC3 wasn't that bad of game all they need to do is fix some gameplay issues namely the at times problematic camera and give Sonya some more stages where she's playable and we're good).
A Dino Crisis HD Collection complete with a physical release will be good as the only way right now to play at the least Dino Crisis 1, 2, and Dino Stalker on the PS5 is via the PSN Store and still don't know how long the PSN Store will last till Sony shuts it down.

Am I the only one who feels like you’re in a fever dream? I’m still stunned and in shocked that we’re here and it’s reality. I been waiting years for anything MVC related. To wake up to the news as the first thing I seen, it’s just..words can’t express the excitement and happiness I’m feeling rn. I can finally relive the experience of playing a game I mostly played in arcades and way back when. This game and UMVC 3 are in the top ten of my favorite games of all times. MvC means a lot to me in a weird way. I’ve never actually played any of them that much, but as a kid in Okemos, Michigan, there was this place called Caesarland. It was Little Caesar’s version of Chuck E. Cheese, except way better, and it had an MvC cabinet.
I don’t even remember what specific game it was but I remember being so entranced by it. Spider-Man was and still is my favorite super hero, and seeing a video game where you could fight other people as him was the coolest thing ever to my tiny brain and legit one of the things that got me the most excited to come whenever a friend had a birthday party there.
I watched all the intros on the website and I think it was either Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter or Marvel Vs. Capcom 1. I remember Captain America and Spidey guaranteed being in the game, but I’m conflicted because I remember that if I stayed watching long enough, Spider-Man would do a sick combo on the screen, but I feel like I also remember Venom being playable? I’m 23 now and it’s been 15+ years since that time so my memory is a little hazy, but I know for a FACT Spidey and Cap were there.
MvC is a core childhood memory for me even though I never owned any of the games in any capacity (I was a Nintendo kid) and can only remember actually playing it once or twice instead of watching in awe from a distance like I usually did. Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy.

But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.

It’s a shame arcade games like that have largely died out, I know console gaming has replaced it but I feel like there’s a sense of community brought by physical cabinets in third spaces that still has value even if you have a $500 console that can play whatever game just fine at home.
I don’t see myself running any kind of business based on my current career path, but if life somehow pushes me in that direction someday, maybe I’ll try and set up a fighting game arcade cabinet in it so more kids can have experiences like we did.

I bought the MvC1 cabinet when it first came out. I didn't think Arcade1Up would get the licensing rights at the time due to the Disney/Marvel red tape. When the MvC2 cabinet was released, I commented if they had a trade-in program 😋

I got back into fighting games just after mvc2 was pulled from psn, had to buy ps2 and the game for around £40 from cex, so glad I can finally retire it

MvC2 was ported on consoles in the early 2010's. I downloaded MvC2 and Capcom v. SNK2 via the PS Store, in addition to Street Fighter 2 HD Remix. These 3 games are the sole reason why I still have my PS3!
The reason they didn't announce this at Evo is because Marvel 4 is getting announced, you watch (or an MvC3 update).

We live in a timeline where darkstalkers and the mvc series are ported to modern systems,SF and Tekken are at the top for fighting games,and Capcom is booming with the RE series. Before we would've considered this the bad timeline,but now this turned into the good one. God bless,let's go on the ride one more time

A new golden age for Capcom and Fighting games, the only black sheep of the bunch is Mortal Kombat which is in decline.
@@renren47618 mk has been in a dramatic decline since mk11 when they decided to be greedy and take advantage of their playerbase. Other companies making FGs never tried this,which is why they are doing better

My girlfriend hadn’t known about xmen until the show came out recently and cried multiple times for some of the episodes. These games may be a great further introduction
alot of people dont know this but Cyber Akuma WAS playable in Marvel vs Street Fighter but i beleive only on the PS1 version, and he was crazy hard to get the unlock condition for, if i recall you had to beat the entire arcade mode including him on a higher difficulty rating without losing a single round, then he was accessed on the roster screen by a button combination while hovering over the portrait of i beleieve Akuma
and for those asking, no i did not do that on a hacked rom, i did it on a retail PS1 copy i still own to this day after hearing about it online
This being a series confirms to me at least that we might be getting a vs SNK collection in the future
