The Cuisenart press you have featured is a cup style press. It cannot possibly "smash burgers too thin if you don't use enough meat" because it's cup shaped! All burgers will turn out exactly the same thickness regardless of the amount of ground beef! And btw, it will press anything up to but not over 8 ounces because of the cup design. It's designed to mimic the Tom Ryan Smashburger press. But Cuisenart has another one with a smooth flat surface, but that's not the one in your video!
