I owned 4 years ago a Huawei P40 pro, a Sony RX100 III, and a Olympus mirrorless camera with 2 lenses. I won't get into much details. I went on vacation in Lefkada Island here in Greece. I took shots with all my equipment. Results may vary but on general I realized that I could easily go on vacation only with P40 pro. I sold Sony and Olympus. For non professional who loves talking photos a good smartphone is the only thing he must owned. The X100 ultra should be global in order to be a Hit in sales. Very nice long review by the way . @@AlienTechnologies33 P40 pro is now a long past, I owned later Vivo X70 pro plus, Vivo X90 pro plus, that's why I am interesting what Vivo produces next. Great build quality apart from photographic capabilities.
You are almost the only one who posted too many portraits in all conditions. Portraits are photos soemenone may keep. Remember to print your photos. Staying in Hard drives is waste of time. One again, great work with tis review.
You've just raised the bar for phone reviews, at least for me. I really like the comparisons with an APS-C camera. It truly shows how far the phone cameras have come, or how complacent the camera companies have become.

Great review! I used to carry around a Ricoh GR3X with me, or some kind of camera. This is the first phone I've owned thats made me sell the Ricoh. The geniune look to the photos, and the amazing periscope lens.

I did choos Vivo X100 Ultra, and it just is amazing with photographing. I have not ones missed my Nikon D500. The main lens takes just incredible pictures that a DSR could never produce.
awesome video. I've seen alot of conflicting information that the VIvo x100 pro is still better optimized than this phone, but the quality of photos you showed really proves this is still great. The potential is still untapped. Once this becomes more optimized over the year I can't even see the Galaxy S26 Ultra comparing to this.

Yeas, spot on my friend. Oppo makes softer look, Vivo makes more machine process. Unique part, that you can change sharpness levels, contrast etc in the auto mode on Vivo, will try to cover all this, without turning it into 2 hrs review.

@@sandipcreation9499 Just cause you don't like Xiaomi doesnt mean they are doing good in the camera department. Their Leica collab is helping out soo much. They have very good videography now (toe to toe with Apple even). Their zoom is amazing, especially with the Ultra Zoom AI

That's why I'm not considering it over the x100 pro +it's cheaper... They should've put something even laser af module would've been fine, anything other than the ultra marking cause it looks cheap af like 200$-250$ phones...

Отличная работа! Я сам купил С24 ультра на старте продаж, теперь плююсь от него, ужасные камеры - позорнейшие, ужасная и глючная система One UI с ужасной анимацией. Очень рад увидеть адекватного обзорщика, а не слепого фанатика самсунга, который... Планирую взять данный Виво, на сегодняшний день - это лучшая камера в смартфонах!

@@AlienTechnologies33 Я также очень ждал этот анпак. Ждал первые обзоры. Заказал 29 января и 30 января он уже пришел, но забрал из магазина 31 января. Взял титановый на 512 ГБ. Попользовался недели 2 как основным, настроил все по максимуму, закачал гудлок, камеру ассистент, но...опять вернулся к старому Хуавей П30 про - это как глоток свежего воздуха, самсунг - это боль по анимации, 3 раза уже зависал One UI, буквально вчера 3-й раз, правда только при использовании ютуба. Удаление объектов с фото из рук вон плохо делает, те же Оппо и Виво делают намного лучше. Вибромотор - как-будто его и нет вовсе. В общем с24 ультра - мусор, но не для фанатиков - они схавают всё и будут боготворить. Самсунг скатилась до уровня эппл, все основано на былых заслугах когда-то. Даже провод из комплекта - позорнейший, супер дешманский, вот это отношение компании к людям. Будущий с25 ультра будет таким же слабым по камерам, прочитал уже все спецификации, они даже близко не приблизятся к Виво

Even though I don't agree with your opinion on AI photography. Simply don't like that artificial, often oversaturated and oversharpened look. Anyway, I purchased this smartphone because of the best camera on market. Looking forward to try turning down the sharpness and contrast in standard app.
Thank you friend. You can tweak some parameters, aswell as color profile, i found the results pleasing for me, this is what i want from pocket camera for fun, family and vacation. Something that makes more than real life with eye candy, something that do not need work in post and specialty equipment with me. My wife struggles to use camera gear that i bought for her, but such small and easy things, she is always takes it and starts creating.

What I see about my Vivo X80 Pro is that volume is loud when playing music, but when watching videos or movies you don't hear it as you would hear it when playing music. The sound can drop down significantly, like a half of the volume can drop 5:40
Фото делает классные, хоть и дорисовывает. Но вот видео - прям посредственность. Особенно фронталка и в целом стабилизация даже днем. Много желейного эффекта. В этом плане разочаровывает.
Как раз выбираю себе смартфон и очень важно хорошее кач-во видео и стабилизация в нем. Буду еще думать. Спасибо за обзор!

Could you please comment on the battery life? Screen on time, idle drain etc?
Thank you my friend! I wanted to test it for more, before making a conclusions, but cant say that 5500 battery made a huge difference, may be in idle drain, because since last time i charged, it were 3 days and 5 hrs, and i still got 20% left, but it was very light use, in normal conditions i get 2 days of work and 7 to 11 hours screen on time, but will check after get some data, in the OPPO vs Vivo review.
On the last 24 hrs I had 9hr and 47 min screen on time, and 37% left, but this time with power saving mode and 120hz refresh still on. 54% of all power consumption was youtube app, and 45% of youtubes app energy was just to power the screen. Bluetooth with wear os, some Bluetooth headphones were in use, like typical day.

I would like to take a moment and thank you coming up with such videos which really helps the audience to make their best buying decision or at least come close to reality and kind of helping making up their minds and just taking them over the line if there are any doubts....again i am sure only genuine photographers would be more interested in such videos to see what smartphone camera can really do.... as you suggested Vivo has a slider or a feature where you can control the level of polish / smoothening in portrait mode .. which is a great option for someone who wants to have a particular type of look..... thanks once again..... one thing i wanted to know with your experience using this phone.... if someone is into travel photography specially street / people photography, do you think the camera holds good shutter speeds by default to kind of freez the motion ? or the only option is to go manual.... just to see the default shutter speeds in good daylight...
@@expressions0007 hello my friend 👽✨ Also on Vivo I used default sharpness slider on auto photo mode, but you can lower sharpness level to -66 or even -100 and get very natural image and skin. As for the moving subjects..
It depends on the situation, for example fast running subjects, I will definitely try to use custom settings or burst (hold shutter button) in sport mode, but in everyday use, walking people, street, it will be fine. But I suggest to use dedicated sports mode if you are unsure how it will look like, on Oppo and Xiaomi it is running human button on the top🏃♂️, and on Vivo it is separate mode on the bottom called Snapshot, in this mode phone will prioretize fast shutter speeds. Smartphones manufactures have some homework to do with fast moving subjects, but it is miles ahead from smartphones that came 5 years ago.

@@expressions0007 Also Vivo have Humanistic street photography mode, where you can control shutter speed but still get HDR and computation. To enter this mode you need to swipe up shutter button (check if this mode is on in settings if nothing happens). I am planning to buy Sony 1 vi for the review, but will make parallely a "mobile streetphotography" video. I want this kind of stuff to be understandable and repeatable for general public, not just experienced professionals. Will try my best to make it easy and entertaining 👾

@@expressions0007 for some reason, when I use zve 10 with smallest stealthiest lens possible, everyone looks at you, drunk people stick around, police and security ask dumb questions, especially in the malls and concerts, but with phone, no one cares 🥷 for that reason I enjoy using phone and DJI pocket 3

After watching your video I have decided to buy the Vivo X100 Ultra when it is available here in Malaysia. At the moment only the Chinese version with Harmony OS 4 and Android 14 is available at USD1,600. Btw, it there face tracking for video?
16GB/1TB version is the most expensive version of Vivo X100 Ultra, which costs ~1200-1250$ [depends of the region].

Thank you my friend. I just love this feature and find it very fun. This is a lot different from the gimmicks that i had on my previous phones. Ai is so strong in this phone, and in near future we will see built in AI models that will change photography on such devices forever

Hello my friend. Yes! This feature need to be turned on inside Portrait mode. Vivo is the only smartphone on the market that allows you to tweak sharpness and even turn it off completely in automatic mode and preserve HDR, also you can turn on Zeiss Natural colours and you will get very natural "soft" image. So you will have realistic and natural image or if you want you can turn on face retouching and get fashion like look, very versatile device. On this video I just played around with that retouching, wanted to test its limits and see when it breaks. Today I will upload new large video with tons of examples, without any retouching, you can check it out for more understanding.

Yeas my friend, it has pre applied film, but it is basic protection, i suggest to put extra glass or hydrogel film. I did not faced any giant focus issues to disturb me 🤖

Great, because I intend to do some street photography for my town, because honestly I can't afford a FF camera with all the accessories that requires, so this device will be my start to street photography.
@@DreamCatcher101-6 it is a very good starting and teaching point. You can easily switch lenses, experiment and play around, try new stuff, play with perspective. You will quickly understand what you like, what your style, what lenses to buy in the future mirorless camera. I wish I could have that luxury back then, each new experiment was very expensive.

With the factory protector film that comes installed, screen is not visible correctly with polarized sunglasses. Its totally green.

Hello my friend, i use bunch of polarising glasses, my eyes are too sensitive for the sun of this planet. And i can see that different polarising coatings work very different on each device. But this waterfall screens have green tint when looking from the side even without glasses.

I got the phone after watching your great review and I found out it is the truth! This phone camera is impressive ! Yet I need guidance how to activate the AI visuals and some editing tools in the photos app, as since I am not a resident of China I always get failure message (network failure) whenever I try cutout option or four seasons AI visuals and so on, do you have any idea how to find a way to resolve this issue ?

@@rrocckky hello my friend, try to play with settings, color profile. It depends on your vision of dim and dull. Check if you are in zeiss natural color profile, it tends to give more dull toned down image
@@rrocckky Vivid color profile gives you bright and saturated image, my favorite, on faces I like to tweak sharpness to -66 or even -100
Smartphone companies needs to let user how much hdr they want in their photo.. or just tone down some aspects, like sharpenning.. and excessive raised shadows...and another thing that bugs me.. Night photos that doesnt look night....clear/blueish sky instead of a black sky...
I just want Camera companies to allow RAW correction before shutter press, and some AI trickery that can be customised and turned off. By the way, i love blue sky in here, reality is pretty boring sometimes
You can turn blue skies off in Vivo, and tweak sharpness levels and color profiles without loosing compute and HDR ability.
Are the lens glass made or plastic?

@@HastDuKleingeld Hello my friend. I was going to buy Pura 70 ultra next and make a review, but after looking at it, I do not feel like it is a good idea for now. It depends on what you want from a phone, OS of Huawei phones are one of the best out there, but in camera and computing department, it is not there yet (for the money you spend). If camera is not your main priority, may be Huawei suits you better. I just cant comment and give more advice, because I have not yet tested it properly. I am still debating buying Huawei for the review.
@@HastDuKleingeld for example, on Vivo you can change basic parameters like sharpness, contrast, brightness, saturation inside automatic photo modes, which is huge, with built in color profiles you can really try and make your favorite colors/sharpness settings, I do not know if it is even possible on any other device right now (outside of pro modes, which sometimes do not give HDR and computing powers)

The Sony is obviously much better than the Vivo for portraits, but still very impressive from a phone. It hope that they improve the face rendering though, it looks too fake. The Sony looked much better in that regard. I also liked the colours more on the Sony, the Vivo was too bright and too smooth.
I'm planning to get a Vivo X200 Pro. Looks like it might become the perfect phone for photography.

Here I used face retouching in portrait mode, you can turn it off completely, also outside of portrait mode you have Zeiss Natural color profile, and you can even control amount of sharpness and turn it off, with full HDR and computation. You can achieve very natural look with Vivo. You can check some other videos, for example, "Game of Phones", "Infinity Phones"
@@BlackParade01 I just goofed around with this this fake retouching, finding its limits and trying to break. Have never saw such a good job from the phone in terms of fake facial reconstruction and skin retouching, it is unbelievable. Other phones distort faces, make weird artifacts on eyes, sometimes even worse... But here it is plastic fantastic, but still somewhat natural and organic, I am very impressed
@@BlackParade01 if you go in the just normal mode, choose "Ziess Natural" instead of "Vivid", then slide sharpnes to -30, -66 or even -100, tweak saturation and contrast for your liking (or leave as it is), and vuala, you will get very natural and organic look.

Hello, i do not use any account, just locally on my phone. Try to give permissions to the camera app, or make changes to the network connection. I had a problem with my network from one particular provider when i was offgrid, AI photos just did not upload on the servers. But on the main road everything started to work. Sorry, cant give more advice, i just do not know.

You can use basic photo mode with -66 or -100 sharpness level for natural results (on vivo you can control brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness without loosing hdr and computation). You can even choose ziess natural color profile, but I like vivid profile more. In this video I was stress testing ai models to see weak and strong points, to understand where will they break
I have a x100Pro and a dedicated camera, Canon M50 Mark II and I do street photography with both of them. I can tell you that a camera beats a phone by miles when it comes to photography. If you want to do 10x zoom of a building yeah phone beats it but try that with a moving bird or subject it will be a mess, taking 20x 30x 10x shoots is a gimmick my VIVO does OK at 4.3X but my 100mm or 85mm lens beats that .... also the bokeh effect on the camera is vastly superior compared to a phone unless you take a close up portrait and even then you can tell. I shoot RAW in both camera and phone and the camera pictures have mooooooore detail than the phone meaning you can be more creative stuff play arround more. Most people never used a dedicated camera with a good lens so they do not know and youtube doesnt do it justice with all the compresion. I agree that the phone is versatile but if you really want to take pictures you use a camera.

This is just bulky professional tool that needs life support, tripod, flash and expensive specialty lenses, how much is dark zoom or 1.4 lens cost? (not from second hand market?). Have you seen the video? Vivo beats ZVE 10 for details in many cattegories, including PORTRAITS. This is just an glimpse of what the future will bring, this is just a beginning. By the way, this crappy set of ZVE-10 and good 1.4 primes + zooms is 4200$, and I WAS LUCKY to pounce on good deals online, this whould be even more if i wanted to buy from officials, and even more if i go Full Frame or Medium format. I had m50 and sold it ASAP, the same story, the same problems. Have you seen price for Canon v10, or Sony zv1-f and other pieces of embarrassment?? I used to be PRO photographer (made money for the job), photography is in the low deep bottom right now. Camera market want too much for what they offer.
Also good luck for us trying to sneak into the mall with large zoom on the large camera body. Camera will still be better for pro (making money for the job), with specialty expensive equipment, tripods, flashes and tons of post work. Also good luck for us to try and convince someone like small girls with small hands and wind in the head and no experience of using camera gear to use all of this
The whole point of this video, is, that you do not need to do anything, you just go, press the button, and have fun, and it crushes everything below 2k$ (new prices) if you take in consideration everything that you get from device, without need to do ANYTHING in post (why shoot in RAW in smartphone, it uses 20+ photos taking in split seconds to compute details, colors, shadow and light, and everything). Camera industry needs to take a move, or be rotten further in budget and mid-range market, in 5 years it will be even more sad situation for them, unfortunately. And this is from me, HUGE CAMERA LOVER.

I was the same couples of years ago, until i saw results from this new phones with my real eyes on a large monitor. i want to sell sony right now, and buy new Full Frame or Medium format, because this is must be new threshold for this market. And still, for street photography, fun, family and vacation, i wont use convectional camera right now, Vivo beats the hell out of standard zoom 2.8 Sigma. @@AlienTechnologies33 OK ... you can buy a second hand camera for £100 and a decent lens for £50 and it will kick a smartphone ass up and down when it comes to day photography, portrait. I know because I started with a cheap dirt camera with a kit lens and also a VIVO x100Pro just a few months ago. When you talk photography, a camera will always be better. Also funny how most people buy £1000 phones and all they do is take selfies and food photos :))) but that is another story.

@@anviart_ Спасибо за просмотр друже. Когда нибудь телефоны научатся рисовать детальнее в ИИ. В этом видео я злоупотреблял в портрете ретушью лица, первый раз увидел чтобы телефон так умел одним нажатием. Но мне очень нравится, что на Виво в фото авто режиме можно убирать резкость, насыщенность, контраст, качество изображения очень возрастает, при этом не теряется HDR и вычисления, я такого пока нигде не видел, если убрать резкость до -100, то изображение будет очень естественным. Еще режим гуманистической фотографии позволяет управлять скоростью затвора, так же без потерь HDR и обработки, что очень здорово, правда на крайне быстрых объектах есть небольшая интерполяция, что обидно, но редко замечаю и только если очень приблизить. Кстати Raw режим меня очень удивил неплохим качеством, словно снимал на беззеркальную камеру, заставило всё это меня продать sony apcs вместе со всем набором линз, так как иногда качество камеры действительно уступало телефону в полевых условиях. Но на что заменить пока не знаю. Хотелось бы вернуться на полный кадр, например Panasonic. Но телефоны как мне кажется действительно догнали недорогие камеры, если учитывать цену и размер. Очень интересно что будет через 10 лет.

Camera wise which one do you prefer vivo x100 ultra, vivo x100 pro, oppo find x7 ultra or xiaomi 14 ultra? Is the difference significant? I use a lot of zoom and nigh pictures.
What's the limitations of the chinese version compared to the global one (for the Vivo) I've read that android auto and smartwatch compatibilities doesn't work.

@@kensei93rtn my choice is Vivo, I try to be soft on other brands, but if you want my true subjective opinion, Vivo Ultra is better, not even close. Especially if you want high zoom shots (10 is very good, 20-30x is good, 60x is acceptable, 100x is not good on any modern smartphone). You will get more on Vivo for the money you spent, for example, s24 ultra I feel I was scammed, on Vivo I am ready to pay even more.
As for the limitations, not all smartwatches work, but i use galaxy watch 4 classic with vivo no problem. Android auto is not supported, by the rumors they are working on it. Also there is no notifications on the lock screen. That's pretty much it.
Battery life is okay, not mind blowing, but I usually charge 80-90% max, and try not to go lower than 10-20%, and it is always enough for the full morning, day and evening of use.
Software updates are frequent enough, and brought some real good fixes for camera.

@@zbigniewwodecki2628 hello my friend. May be in ideal lightning conditions. But in rough or low light sony camera completely falls apart, it only generates noise, without any details and without any dynamic range. In this video I used Ai gen portrait mode to stress test it. On Vivo I can use normal mode with tuning sharpness all the way down and still have hdr and computation. Also all shots on sony camera is Raw files that I spent time tweaking, out of the box you won't get this results. On Vivo I can also use Raw and even computational Raw. This ZVE 10 is a waste of space for me right now, even dust on the shelves will be way more useful for me. But sony is okay as a good webcam and for video on tripod, if you do not move objects too fast on the screen.

I made a lot more testing right now, and I plan to review Sony Xperia 1 VI (this is where real toy cameras are, I find samsung, apple and sony phones very similar in terms of bad camera quality)
