  • Working on a 05 Honda Accord to fix the common no heat on driver side issue. I will cover the steps in Changing the heater valve, doing an heater core flush, Testing the blower motor and coolant flush. This can be used to fix 04 to 07 Acura TL and RL of the same time period.

    You don't seem to understand how heat core works: the blower blows through the small radiator (heater core), then the warm air gets into the cabin. If there is any heat from any of the vents, it has NOTHING to do with the heater core or water valve. It only means the hot air is not directed properly, which means the blender door motor, mode motor, or blend door binding. That's why you didn't fix the problem.

    Wow. Thanks. I thought this was some kind of rare issue being that only the driver side was not getting as much heat as it was supposed to. Not as complicated of a problem as I thought it was going to be. I'll have to check it out tomorrow sometime after work.

    Hi
    after removing the valve, you can see inside as if the valve is not fully closing. could this be the reason for the heating failure? passenger side is ok. driver side is blowing cold.
    Thanks

    • @AJIMPORTS
      @AJIMPORTS  3 года назад +2

      The heater valve that was on the firewall was broken. So all the antifreeze would flow into the heater core even when you have the ac on. It would cause the ac to be warmer because the antifreeze was not closed off. If you changed or tested the actuator on the side with no heat and flushed the heater core. Most likely your issue is inside the heater box under the dash. Where internally the flap that should be closing is broken.

      No I did not swap the heater box. But I did check inside the center vent and I saw where the flap would not move. So if you can get a camera in there you can confirm if thats your issue also. Or just use a long screw driver with the camera and manually move the vent to close so you have hot air.

      I did a few video on the heat issue. The black dash was my car. The tan was a customer car. I did not want to go and pull the whole dash out. So once I confirm the issue I told him and he is getting it done at a shop once the heater box comes in.

    Hi everybody I’m so confused, I have a single climate (not dual zone) like this specific accord. Does this vehicle still have 2 door blend actuators? One on the driver side and passenger side?

    • @AJIMPORTS
      @AJIMPORTS  9 месяцев назад

      Never worked on a single zone unit before. Best suggestion is go to honda parts and put in your Vin. See what comes up. But if I were to guess I would say you only have 1 on the driver side and the other to control the vents position.

      Are you sure you bleed out all the air in the system. and you have to check the actuator is moving when you change from heat to AC.

    You're suppose to use distilled water when you put water in your coolant system if you're going to run it.

    • @AJIMPORTS
      @AJIMPORTS  Год назад

      Yes on normal installation but when you flushing out the system and trying to unclog the heater core. You use normal water for the volume and pressure.

    What size tubing and what size brass nose did you use when manually flushing the heater core? Thanks for the video 💯

    • @AJIMPORTS

      I believe it was a 3/4 hose and a normal water fitting from home depo. Just make sure you turn it on low. If you apply too much water pressure you can cause more damage

    • @AJIMPORTS
      @AJIMPORTS  3 года назад +1

      Thats very weird because the passenger side has its own actuator. Check to make sure the two hose going to the heater core is hot after the car warm up. If not then you might have a clogged heater core. Also remove and double check the actuator on the driver side. See if you get heat with it removed by manually moving the levers on the box.

    • @MrSteveehunt
      @MrSteveehunt 3 года назад

      I managed to get the heat back on the passenger side of the car by removing the actuator and refitting but still cold on the drivers side and I’ve checked the hoses and they are both hot .. weird!

    • @AJIMPORTS
      @AJIMPORTS  3 года назад +1

      @@MrSteveehunt If the actuator is working fine on the driver side now. Iwould try to flush out the heater core a few times. If that does not work the prowm may be the hvac box under the dash. The internal vent might be broken or the heater core is clogged and need replacement.

      The mechanic before me stole that cabin Air sensor tubing with the ASpirator I believe. Because the owner stated she needed freon in the summer so she takes it to shady Mechanix he steals part outta car in hopes she returns
      In the winter like he suspected because he took a heating element out the car to drum up business in the winter .
      Because fast forward the customer doesn't need ac nomre it's cold in nj in late October so now she turns heat on nothing no hot air coming from vents
      My question is the timeliness seems suspect and i think that's what happened they stole a peice I didn't know was missing

    I’m having this same problem. Drained coolant yesterday, replaced thermostat, refilled and bled it out. Car still overheated, not as bad as before. But I think the verdict on my Honda is the heater core, I can smell coolant coming from the vents. I know I don’t have a blown head gasket because I checked the oil cap, no milky substance in it.

    • @AJIMPORTS
      @AJIMPORTS  3 года назад

      If you think the heater core is leaking. Just by pass it and rebleed the system. That way you can be sure its the problem. Because pulling that heater core out is a pain.

      Checking the oil cap for milky substance is not how you check for headgasket leak, you may be burning the coolant, you may be burning oil, your heater core wont plug enough to overheat your vehicle, if your carpet is soaked and your level keeps dropping then heater core or line leak possible, take it to a certified tech save yourself and us techs from the issues messing with your own car causes

      @@epipolarus @J. M. @J. M. The guy in the video. Based on this video and my observations, the actuator on the drivers side controls the flap that allows either the cold air or hot air to come through. The actuator on the passenger side controls which vents the air flows out from. The actuator arms on the passenger side do not move when you change the temperature setting. Also, the car he is working on has single zone climate control not dual zone. I have a single zone climate 2006 accord just like in the video and I did try replacing the driver side actuator but it didn't make a difference because the old one was moving the two white arms just fine.
