It doesn't need side view mirrors. Our family kept a 1986 model till 2000. Once we were rear ended by a DCM DEAWOO CIELO. We got out of the car only to find a small dent in the middle of the rear bumper, and the other guy's headlights, bumper and radiator were gone. 😋 Wish someone brings back this car as a modern classic like Mini or 500.

We used to have the same car having same color and model. Had to discard it due to the aging issues of the car. Learned to drive on it. Neighbor and friends used to mock and make fun of us , they would never understand the worth of the emotion, attached to this car. We even took her wipers off as a memory to keep with us ,before bidding her a final goodbye.
What? I was watching your video casually. At about 11:00, I realised that you are driving this car just around my house in Hyderabad. The very same road where I drive my car daily almost at the same time of the day to office. You should have taken that left at 12:55 instead of struggling with brakes and gears to reach my house. Had I known, I would have offered my car also to drive. Seriously amazed.

Back in 2006 when my dad used to be a used car dealer and I was about 8-9 years old I used to get dropped to school by this car I have a very vague memory about this car almost nostalgic my cousin brother had a hard time shifting the gears of this car

Thanks buddy for bringing back old memories. Learnt how to drive in a Padmini. My dad owned a 1978 model and I am a 1977 model myself :) So both me and the Padmini were roughly the same age when I started driving. Trust me the wipers on the car were 'manual' - You had to move them by hand when it rained. Handbrake was a luxury. But still I loved the Padmini :)
This car was more used in taxi market....nd now is replaced by indica
If Padmini comes back to life with the new safety and emission norms, then it would be a greater hit than the Volkswagen Beetle.

Both the vehicles (Pal and Amby) are iconic. Today's vehicles cannot compete with the performance of these two. My father had a long back Amby with HM+ 1500 cc diesel engine. I enjoyed driving Amby a lot those days.

Loved it. Actually in those old days there were many conversation mechanics who did hand gear to floor gear conversion. My dad had a hand gear padmini and floor gear 137d. Awesome days. We put aftermarket glass steering wheel
