    I have the ND68 just inside my kick and pointed at the beaters. It sits almost entirely inside with the mic clip/holder being right at the drum head. That seemed to be the best for me and was inspired by another of your videos to test out all the positioning possible. I've really been enjoying mixing with this mic!

      Hi, Juan. The E900 series from Sennheiser is an awesome set of microphones, as well! Give us a call, we'd be happy to discuss your setup with you and help figure out which microphones would work best for you. Depending on what you're recording, it could be a mix of both!

    Hey bro quick question. My gear advisor suggest i go with the ND96 EV over the Shure 58. I primarily am wanting it to plug into my amp with my acoustic guitar and sing along. I’m not a gig guy yet I am pretty raw and new to this. It’s more of a hobby and learning process for me right now. My voice trying to
    Learn to sing. So with that in mind which mic would be best for my situation? I have a fishman loudbox mini acoustic amp. Thanks!!

      Hi, Ryan! Thanks for your interest. The SM58 and ND96 are both dynamic mics which would work great for live performance. However, the ND96 has a supercardioid polar pattern, which makes it more directional than the 58 - easier to avoid feedback with proper mic placement, in other words. Most users also find the ND96 to have a brighter, clearer sound than the SM58. Either one would be a solid choice, but I'd agree that this EV is an upgrade from the Shure. Feel free to contact me (or your own Sweetwater Sales Engineer) with any further questions, and thanks again!

    What do you think the electro voice nd44 microphone is suitable for a drummer singing,like vocal mic?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  2 года назад

      Hello, Алексей! The ND44 could certainly work well for a vocal mic, but the frequency response is a bit limited in the high frequencies, making it more suited for close mic’ing drums. If you are looking for a dedicated vocal mic that will reject unwanted sounds from the sides (like what you’ll need as a singing drummer), I recommend the sE V7:

    would the 44 or the 46 work as a hanging drummer's vocal mic like guys do with the shure tom mics often?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  2 года назад

      Hi, Louis. The EV drums mics there would work pretty well on voice! They are super cardioid, so they will block out a lot of non-direct sounds. They have a slightly brighter frequency response than the Shure mic, so they might cut pretty well. The one thing to think about is plosives. Since these are designed for drums they don't have a full built in pop filter like vocal mics, so you may need to take that into account by rolling off the low end or using a foam cover.
      If you have any more questions, just give me a ring!

    How well does the ND68 handle horns or baritone sax or trombone?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  3 года назад +1

      Hey, Walter. The ND68 is a great mic and sounds really good! It is designed to take high SPL and is a great mic for kick, bass and other low end applications. The mic also has a very nice frequency response on the top end for extra punctuation and really nice bit of extra presence. It would work great on horns due to the SPL handling and the eq curve. It would also be great an horns that you want to accentuate lower frequencies.
