    • @PJChenJewelryDesign
      @PJChenJewelryDesign  6 лет назад

      You are right, you can print them technically. it just economically makes sense to have machine made. You can find a lot of videos on youtube about chain manufacturing process to get the idea of chain making. However, if you plan to make a thick bracelet. You will need to 3d print and cast them.

    • @PJChenJewelryDesign

      Hi, Technically, you can print and cast it, but it is cheaper to buy chain than 3d print then cast it, unless you have specific design that you cannot find on the market. Or the link is for a bracelet than a chain. and yes, you can also arrange stone setting on any surface in Rhino 3D. Check out my playlist "stone setting in Rhino3D", You will find useful tutorial for stone setting.

    • @PJChenJewelryDesign

      You can use "Flow Along Surface" command. I have used this command in many of my RUclips videos.

    • @leowright7515
      @leowright7515 6 лет назад +1

      Thank you. One other question please. I’ve only seen the flow along surface command done on rings so far. Because rings have a surface to apply the command to, and in this case, a Cuban link does not have that surface. what would I use as a surface when using the command.

    • @PJChenJewelryDesign
      @PJChenJewelryDesign  6 лет назад +1

      you can create a circle. then extrude surface. then create UV curve from that surface. After that, you will get a rectangle on CPlane. make it into a surface. place the cuban link on it. and flow along surface back to the original surface.
