Tq Sylvia for your services to the country. As a fellow Jay Beerian (from Wadi Hana), I've followed your badminton journey all the way to your retirement. You deserve all the plaudits and recognition that have come your way. Your family was well-known in JB for their badminton prowess. Your brother Billy of course stood out, representing Malaysia in the Thomas Cup.
I still remember your house with its open air badminton court on Jalan ? (adjacent to Jln Ngee Heng), with its fluorescent lighting, in your night games.
Rest well in your golden age Sylvia and tq to the producers of this video. I dare say women's badminton in Malaysia didn't take off until you came along to spearhead it.

I was just trying to represent English College when I saw you play against our school top player, Hamdan, Najib & Natashah back in 1975. You had won the Commonwealth Games Gold medal and you played so well. Back in 2001, when I represented Malaysia in the SEA Games (not badminton), I met you personally. Your story is an inspiration to sportsman & women. You are truly a Malaysian Legend!

@ongtengkee9225 Commonwealth is a big organisation of 56 countries. Even get a gold to compete against 56 countries is very good enough.
Why not you compete with China best of 1 45 billion people and get gold for Malaysia?
