    I've had embrilliance for over a year and its scared me to death. This has just taken me less than 10 mins to do 4 stockings with different names ready to stitch at weekend. Thank you so much

    Hi Becky. Thank you so much for this video. I made my first stocking along with your video. A light bulb went on when I was about to start my second one. I used my Scan n Cut and rotary blade to cut the stocking shape out of batting. I used the tack down sewing line as my cutting file. It kept the bulk out of the seam and no more trimming!

    I have seen many of your embroidery videos (OK, all of your videos) with many using a larger than 4X4 hoop. I had the opportunity to upgrade my machine to a NQ1700e with a 6X10 hoop (which gets delivered today) so, of course, I purchased this Designs by Juju design. Kids, spouses and grandchildren will now get a customized stocking (along with the key fobs I already made). Thank you for your sooooo helpful instructional videos.

      That dispenser came as part of a subscription box from another embroidery company a couple of years ago. Any 1" tape dispenser will work.

    Love the stocking! I do have a question…when you place the long lining piece does the fold go on the top of the stocking or at the bottom? Thank you for your help.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад

      It goes at the top. Keep the fold below the marks so you don't sew it closed! lol

  • @dcrosby1972

    So another quick question. I want to make 2-3 of these stockings but I’d like to use a few shirts that belonged to my sister who passed away in February. They are stretchy/tshirt style fabric so would putting the sf101 on the back of the fabric be enough to stabilize it? I think I may only make the very front panel with the shirt fabric and use cotton quilt fabrics for the rest.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад

      I think using any type of non woven iron on stabilizer like Pellon's 911F or as a woven SF101 will work. But you have the right idea and you definitely need to stabilize those knits. What a sweet tribute!

    Hi Becky, thank you for another great video. I have just purchased a Solaris 2, and the big Christmas stocking is going to be one of my first projects. I’m wondering about adding an embroidery design to the bottom of the stocking, as well as customizing the top? Is there a way to do that on the machine…or would it be best to stitch it out on the bottom fabric first? I’m in the process of updating my embrilliance to accommodate the big hoop..so maybe that’s the answer? Thanks in advance!

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад

      The easiest way to do this is to edit the design in software (like Embrilliance) where you can add a customized design into the stitch order exactly where you want it. When you load a design in the Solaris, it is Design #1 and then Add (use the Add button) the customized design in as Design #2. You'll want to add the #2 design after the background quilting has happened on the front. So when you get that step finished, then use the Needle -/+ button to jump to the #2 design and complete that. The use the Needle -/+ button to go back to the Design #1 to finish it.

    How much fabric does each stocking take? You would want to have enough on hand

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад +1

      That depends on the size of the stocking you choose to make. Fabric requirements are in the pattern. Have fun!

    Is it possible to put batting between the ack piece and lining?

  • @yumagirl55
    @yumagirl55 2 года назад

    I want to use directional fabric for the one long piece, but I dont think its working. Should I cut two pieces and sew them together so
    they all face the top. I want to use all the same fabric for inside and outside.

    Is there any way to change the quilting pattern? I'd like to put a dog bone pattern instead of the crisscross diamonds.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад +1

      You can use Embrilliance Essentials to remove the cross hatching and put a design by Juju background pulting design in its place. My link to Embrilliance is below the video

      @@PowerToolsWithThread Thank you. I wasn't sure if the design had the cross hatch separated without buying it. I'll go get it now. This is a great tutorial. Thank you so much.

    Becky, may I ask what modules of embrilliance do you own?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад +1

      I have Essentials, Enthusiast, Density Repair Kit, Merrowly, & Stitch Artist 1. I don't own Alpha Tricks because I don't have any non-BX fonts except those that came with the basic software. I'm not savvy enough with Stitch Artist and have no desire to digitize so I didn't get SA2 or SA3.

  • @CorrinaWalkden5

    ugh, I added a name into the sewing sequence and the part that is to go around the stocking and hold the bottom down, just does a couple stitches, skips over the bottom does a couple more stitches and skips up to the top of the stocking.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад +1

      If you have any embroidery software, you might add the design into that and see if you can figure out what is going on and then fix it. It's hard to tell otherwise. Good luck!

    • @CorrinaWalkden5
      @CorrinaWalkden5 2 года назад

      @@PowerToolsWithThread Thanks, I actually found a video on Embrilliance, which is what I use. Somehow, when I added my personalization, the steps after it were marked as hidden. I had to go into each color stop and change them to applique stitch for them to stitch properly.

    I stitched the 8 x 12 tonight. Just disappointed. Alot of work and they still seem too small for a stocking on the mantle. Very sad. Won't be making them for customers because I don't think they will like how small they are.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад

      The ones I made for my kids are the 9x14. Stocking sizes are always subjective. People always love something with their name on it. Even the 5x7 will hold a gift card. :)

  • @rhondaverma6358
    @rhondaverma6358 2 года назад +1

    How would I add a name instead of a bone?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад

      You can download Embrilliance Express and use a BX font to add a name. Or if your machine has the ability, once you load the design in your machine, you can use the Add feature and add a name on the cuff and place it where it goes on the screen. Then use the needle +/- button to jump ahead in the stitching to stitch the name on the cuff when it's time. Then go backwards to finish stitching the rest of the design.
