- 2011 Land Rover Range Rover HSE LR4 5.0L V8 Engine Blown Head Gasket Replacement Repair Part 4 This is PART 4 of the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover with a Blown Head Gasket . In this episode we will with broken head bolt. I will attempt to remove broken head bolt thread from receded bolt hole. This Range Rover is fitted with Ford's 5.0L V8 Engine which is found on most Jaguars and Land Rover vehicles in the same years. I will be attempting to bring this back to life and fix and replace parts in this project. To get a better background please watch part one 1st. Do you think this range rover will run again?

2) I love how detailed the video was, how many times you showed drilling. It really helps convey what a difficult and time consuming job this was.
3) You legit avoided a $12,000 long block replacement with that engenuity.

Holy smokes, man, what a pain in the ass to remove broken bolts, specially in a block. I had the same thing happened to years ago. And used like 15 different drill bits to thin it all the way. Good job!

Hey Gidabo, great video. I’ve followed this series and I must say you did really well concurring the challenge. I’m just curious how the project ended. Am considering installing new gaskets on my 2015 V6 3.0 liters engine. I hope the steps are the same as illustrated in the 5.0

Any update on the work? I assume you put it back together and remediated the misfire codes and white smoke?
thats sucks man snapping a head bolt in the block .. you would have to get a long drill bite and a easy out .. and spray some PB blaster in there

Are you going to replace valve seals while you have the heads off? I just got both of the heads off of mine the other night. Doing some research now on the tools I would need to remove the valves and replace the valve seals. Are you gonna go this route as well? Or are you just going to put the head back on as it is?
It is a good idea to replace the valve stem seals if you dug this far in to the engine however; I am not going to replace the valve seals because the car was not burring oil or was not smoking due to failed seals. If you decided to do valve job, Since you need to take the heads to a machine shop call and ask them for the price just for labor on valve job (just for the seals) and buy the seals online. I believe that might be good place to start. Best of luck.

You seem very knowledgeable on how to do these types of head gaskets but you skipped a lot of parts some that I was specifically looking for to help me out that's my only dislike about the videos for this project

You need to buy new tools that will open that
Stupid OEM bolts. I would replace with ARP bolts
all that work just for the rod bearings to go right after. worst engine ever made
