City Away. Chelsea at home. Tottenham at home and arsenal twice. Getting 81 points which no one has done since mister Ferguson is the greatest accomplishment in my career in English football. And one day when I leave. The next man united managers will have a hard time winning the trophies I won and reaching those 81 points. When I was the united player's age I was nobody in football. Gary and Roy's reaction to "taking a leaf out of Arsenal's plan" is why I love the fact that United are losing. Arrogance. Arrogance for a club that has done nothing for quite a while. United are exactly like Arsenal were. Delusions of grandeur but mired in mediocrity. Arsenal bit the bullet and now it's seemingly paying dividends.
Very well said. How they were laughing at us at the start of the season when we lost to Brentford. Don’t hear any laughing now… 🤔🤫😏

Love how Garry keeps dismissing arsenals project and development when that’s exactly what Man U need to do to get back to success. Clear all the deadwood, which is half the squad, and sign almost exclusively young players which the manager specifically wants who are willing to play for the club and not for the money. In addition they need a manger with a specific philosophy that’s not willing to compromise or change his style until he’s instilled it in all of the players. arsenals future is looking incredibly bright whereas Uniteds isn’t
He can’t handle it 😹
The thing is, they don’t even need youth like that. They can spend more so can buy players in their prime. 3 years of unified squad building and they’ll be fine
United did that and finished 2nd and 3rd and then it fell apart. Arsenal can only dream of finishing that high
I said months ago that when it comes down to progress Arsenal are ahead of Man United. There are is a core group of players at Arsenal that are very good. Ramsdale, Tavares, the Japanese lad, Saka, Smith Rowe, Gabriel, White, Tierney, Odergaard, Partey, Martinelli. Tierney for me is the 2nd best left back in England after Andy Robertson. Do they need more? Yes. However they have a core there that collectively are better than Man United. Arteta is on the right track

Comparing Mourinho to Conte makes no sense. First of all, Conte will leave behind an amazing winning squad when he leaves and his problem has always been the higher-ups who won't support his transfer plans, and the reason he will leave a club. Mourinho on the other hand, will alienate everybody (fans, owners) and destroy the team mentally to the point where it takes them months to regain their confidence and doesn't leave, he gets chased out.

Your biggest mistake was to bring back Ronaldo. I totally agree with what Carragher said about him the other day. In my opinion you were clearly better without him. You should stop chasing after big names and look for players who actually care more for others than themselves. I'm convinced that Patrik Schick for example would have been a much better choice than Ronaldo (and Cavani btw). You shouldn't keep Pogba either.

It's the entitlement for me on Gary's part. So Manchester United IS a ''bigger club'' than Arsenal with a better model than what IS working at Arsenal, and yet you're falling apart. lmao
His point about United have better spending power was awful. They’ve tried the expensive approach for the past 9 years and it’s clearly not worked. They never learn and they also hate to see us win… beautiful sight
Lol you guys wont get it. Stay lame.
His waffling is laughable, cant admit that arsenal are doing much better and going on the right direction because of the restructuring of the club
Man utd is bigger than arsenal. That's not even a debate.
Yet they are not even the biggest team in Manchester
Micah is right, what is the point of having Rangnick managing and then going upstairs. If he develops bad relationships with players as a manager and is in charge of a slide in morale, why would the next manager want to be overseen by him or at the mercy of his advice in the future - just a difficult situation waiting in the wings. Rangnick could have gone straight into some kind of strategic role with Conte as manager, who is respected by players and would have certainly left the place in a better shape than when he arrived. In the meantime, Rangnick could have quietly improved background strategy without the risk of alienating himself from fans and making his and the club's life difficult in the future.
But it is limited, but Ragnick as a coach is bad timing
I really don’t think Ralf is alienating himself from fans. Thankfully, it seems like it really is the players in firing line this time. And if come next season the new manager is worried about how he’s seen by the players because he’s communicating with Ralf then 1) Utd have appointed the wrong person 2) the rot must still be there in the dressing room
The problems at Man Utd all start at the boardroom & the "young players" like Rashford aren't trying to stand up for the club... there's a lot of issues at the change room behind the scenes along with the board too... the problem here isn't gonna be solved by the new world-class manager. Ralf Rangnick is better much suited as a Football director but also the board will also hold the cards in order to fix this club... we've let go of a big manager like Conte simply because he will challenge the board to break the bank & try to refix the club again. Man United we need a big manager that can build this club like example Luis Enrique or Erik Ten Haag since Zinedine Zidane will not join us. We need a manager that will bring a connection with the board & club at the bottom too. We are in for a long term rebuild process. We just need to try & find a way to rebuild properly since I don't think Pochettino isn't the solution because he has never won anything although the Champions League is up for grabs if we were to exclude the Ligue 1 title & the French Cup
When Gary put his head in his hands 😂 Micah doesn’t understand that the Glazer’s want a puppet and Conte is far from that

Gary Neville is still in la-la land. Micah's point was perfectly valid!
Correct. Neville is a puppet and Yes Man.
The "United Way" Is literally the Manchester United version of the old Liverpool fans saying "look at our history" (before the klopp era)
You just figured that out?
9:50 the bitterness from Roy Keane and Gary Neville shaking his head 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Typical
gary is right . You would think the players would be doing more to impress for the next manager.Take the rest of the season and make sure you get the best long term manager.
neville was never the sharpest tack in the box and Micah is spot on: hiring an interim manager was a mistake. It naturally result in players - many of whom in ManU's squad are prima donnas - to not give him the intensity that a permanent manager would demand.
But why it is limited ?
The general idea is that ragnick is going upstairs at the end of the season. Doesn't that mean the players have their careers on the line ? Why can't they put in the effort then? I just think they are lazy and have the mindset that they are world class. Majority of fans are seeing it this way and are hoping for a clearout this season
'Neville was never the sharpest tack in the box'? What a ridiculous, pompous statement
@@Dan-mx9bv but it is odd
Both Micah and Gary had fair points. The shouting was a little unnecessary though lol. Ultimately Ragnick has walked into a chaos that cannot realistically be resolved by the end of this season. To blame him is to ignore the long term damage caused by the preceding regime. To blame him is to ignore the largely underperforming, overrated playing staff. To blame him is to take the easy route. It doesn't help that the board have undermined him with regard to January acquisitions (See Zakaria, Haidara & Kamara) and some of the players have already undermined him somewhat in the press (See Martial & Lingard). His position is, much like the club itself, an unstable one. I don't believe Ralf will be manager next season, but you have to wonder, with the current disorder, disillusion and disdain pervading everything at United, will any of the findings that he reports to the club even be heeded, or will the board and it's social media vultures present the arrival of the incoming manager as yet another new dawn - a tabula rasa to erase any accountability on the part of the playing staff, the coaching team and those who preside above them.
Micah had an invalid point
The season was over before it started, Ole shouldn’t have been allowed to continue as Utd Manager after Losing the Europa League….when our board insisted on standing behind him and defending him the season was over then and there. All Rangnick is doing is damage limitation which is fine because there’s nothing left for Utd to fight for this season
@@uchihasendo1041 I think Micah's point is valid. United should have let go of Ole and appointed Conte earlier on. The most important thing is to get a Coach in that plays attractive football, and improves players. How many players recently have joined Man Utd and improved? A Coach that can take Rashford, Sancho, Mctominay, Shaw, AWB, Bruno to the next level, combined with a few signings will go a long way.
Things get more dire for United when a former City player is more passionate about their situation than the players themselves.
I share Richards frustration, what does Neville mean by Conte isn’t a Man U manager. At this point only Sir Alex Ferguson clone is going to satisfy him
This was covered before. The problem is if things aren't precisely to his satisfaction then Conte is off. And at Utd this would be the case. He causes friction but in the short term that can be a way of moving forward. After that though it's tiring. If they had enjoyed some level of success post-Ferguson then Utd might have considered it. But this is all to forget the main problem, the way Utd is run from the very top.
Conte is a mourinho like manager. 2 years of success then leaves. Manchester United want a long haul manager. Contes isn't a long haul manager.
@@deanopain the thing is the managers that Man U have had post Ferguson haven’t been of the highest quality apart from Mourinho who is arguably past it. And Mourinho won them two trophies, that’s what matters in the end.

I’m a gooner but even I can see sense in the Ragnik move. If the plan is still for him to go upstairs, then it makes sense to bring him in, close to the first team, so that he has 6 months making sense of exactly what needs to be changed when a permanent manager comes in. That makes sense to me. He will be able to suggest good signings and advise the new manager in order for that new manager to have the best start possible. Relax and give the plan time. I’ve done that with the Arteta project, and for a long period of time, things looked really bleak on the surface. But behind the scenes, plans were being put in place and implemented over time…. time is what’s needed
This is a typical back room decision made by non football people more interested in excel spread sheets than the actual product. Why a club like ManUtd needs an extra layer of consultancy to understand what is actually going on is beyond me! What are they smoking at OT? If the decision makers don’t know what to do then why are they there?
You can't just waste a season, Guus Hiddink came in had a 73% win percentage, and won the FA cup in a couple of months as interim?
It makes the players not wanna compete though because he's not gonna be in charge in 3 months it's stupid
Man united dilly-dallied, we all know that Conte was the best man for this job. All i hear are just excuses but fully backed by the club (which Man U can) he would've been there for a long time.
No self respecting pedigreed manager will want to be an understudy to Rangnick
As a Liverpool fan I am loving seeing Utd where they are.... but I dont get Nevilles insistence on Conte not being the man for Utd
He is an elite manager, who will tell the board exactly what is going wrong at the club and will win trophies

Another rant about Gary Neville. He's infatuation with his own opinion is nauseating. Conte left his previous 2 jobs because he wasn't given assurances about investment in players and in the case of Inter, they wanted to get rid of all his best players. @@ApesMcCoy because i said so. Pipe down
Ive been saying this for ages. The problem at Man Utd run deeper than the coach. The whole structure of the club isn't good enough. We've seen that majority of the players aren't good enough. The people who run the club aren't good enough. we don't sign players to fit the identity of the team. We sign based off position and overpay 99% of the time.
When you throw big money aroundthis is what happens. Money can ruin clubs... Look at Real, Barca too. Players brought in don't perform as they have nothing to prove. The money is in the bank. Utd. Were lucky under Fergie... Even Alan Hansen said it... You don't win anything with youngsters... But they did. There was passion, playing like they were playing with mates in a park. That chemistry and desire can't be bought Or matched. Utd are finished. Newcastle are In a better starting position than utd in terms of a rebuild, thsts hiw far they've fallen behind.
I agree and it's irrelevant who comes into the club as a manager. The change has to start on the pitch. Not just shifting and replacing but the mentality of the club now.
Agree with this, Man United truly need a potent Sporting Director with authority and i think Rangnick could make it. United made lots of bad transfer for the past 10 years with huge transfer fee and huge salary, but decent performance on pitch. Look at Barca, this kind of transfer will ruin a team. United also need a better coaching team with a head coach that could manage the players ego. United board also need to focus more on winning titles, than getting popular footballers with inflated salary so they can sell more shirts, so United is brave enough to ditch lazy and unperformed players if it need to.
I think the problem with Utd is that despite it being a big spender on levels with City or PSG, it is also trying to go the Arsenal way and develop young talents bought or homegrown with added few experienced players to balance the experience and talent ratio. Utd are stuck between these two philosophies and getting confused which way to push. This all results in imbalance in desire, talent and discipline. Also, they have players like Maguire, Fred and AWB who are averagely talented with very poor ability to read a game.
As a lifelong fan of LFC, I take great delight in seeing Man U cry from self inflicted wounds. United has a great group of players but cannot connect them into a team. And did I say I was scared when Ole was fired because Conte was out there for grabs?
Surprised the title wasn’t “Gary and Micah HEATEDLY disagree over Ragnick’s HEATED role at Man HEAT-nited 🔥 “
Going from Agree to Disagree to this was an emotional rollercoaster to say the least
Anyone here after Man U losing 4-0 to Brentford?
Never heard Neville speak a word against his mate, Ole
Roy looks absolutely battered. Imagine spending 1.2bil on a squad for the past eight years and then phil jones is still better than your starting cb.
This.
The problems at UTD run deep across culture, playing style, recruitment, tactics and fan expectation. The only meaningful way forward is to follow Arsenal's example with a top to bottom restructure and a modern manager. But the club ego, as demonstrated ably by Roy and Gary, is stopping them. They need to self-reflect, be humble, admit mistakes and start a process of transformation. That is what SAF was given time to do. Prior to hm him, UTD had been an omni-shambles for 20 years winning very little.
That sums it up really. Key word fan expectation.
Facts
But it lack idendity
Spot On.
Barcelona’s doing that too, a young, serial winner manager developing a squad of extremely talented young players. Obviously the clubs got issues going on but the team is going to be an immense force in a few years, United need to essentially copy that, ditch half the team who have no passion for the club and sign talent that does.
Completely agree with Micah. We aren't going back to glory days, not going to be there for a long time. Gary is dreaming imo. United fans are looking back too much. We haven't got those players with the Manchester desire anymore, to busy with Social media and all that crap. City have that desire these days. That ain't going to change anytime soon. They need a whole new dressing room. Never mind just a new centre back. But who's going to want to join us if we can't get UCL spot,at this stage we'll be lucky to get europa league. It's ridiculous that's are aim these days is a top four finish. Pochettino is not going to make that difference, as we seen while he was at spurs he didn't like bringing in players, which is something we need a lot of.
9 years it is a big problem, De Gea felt in prison. I feel sorry for him.
Gary's response to Micah is correct. But Micah's point prevails: if RR loses the dressing room further, continues with mediocre performances, then there's a risk the board simply disregards his opinions/reports when crunch time comes.
However, I do feel that as long as the powers that be are deeply, and I mean deeply, considering multiple managers and their performances over time, behaviour under differing circumstances, their problem solving and conflict resolution abilities, the blueprint of their football... then taking this long is absolutely fine and understandable. Pressure off, watch, decide.
It's a huge decision. Another failed quick decision and the club is damaged once more. This next one is the biggie boys and girls. Get this one wrong and the vibes around this footballing institution will fall further and further down the footballing pyramid. What players will even choose us ahead of a host of more desirable clubs.
We can't operate forever bribing players with 1.75x the wage they'd get elsewhere. We're at real risk now, so this pause to make the best decision is probably the right thing.
Cross the fingers. Line in the sand for Man Utd this next one.
