You hit the "nail on the head". Get the "sealed" sub that fits your budget now, and add a second sub when your wallet allows. Duals will give you more headroom over the bigger ported sub and will sound better. FYI- You can usually get a discount if you purchase duals at the same time.
I love my SB13-Ultra & will be adding a second SB-4000 once my "sock money" is where it needs to be.
    Great video by the way.

Wow. I find this man's style very honest and engaging. I love how he considers details that the average consumer would consider, like whether it would even fit in your space. So, his analysis is not only price-to-performance, but rather whether it even makes sense for your specific use-case depending on the price. Excellent. What's the name of the song w/ the female singer/electronic music?

I watched a bunch of your videos before pulling the trigger. I originally got the sb-1000 and pb-1000 (not pro) and realized I don't like sealed subs at all and the pb-1000 still didn't have enough power. Got a pb-2000 (not pro) on outlet special for $600. (no damage 5 year warranty). I listened to it and said f-yrah that's the one. Ordered the second one with the go dual code which made the second one $540. So I got 2 pb-2000s for $1140 which is $460 cheaper than a single pb-3000 with 200watts more total amp rms power.

At the moment I have a single PB2000 Pro. I've just ordered a second. In my country SVS subwoofers are significantly more expensive than in the US. If I had the money I would definitely consider dual PB 3000's, however dual PB2000 Pro's will be more than sufficient for my small room.

New subscriber and loved the this comparison. So after 5 kids and finally getting a room of my own I am delving into the large screen, AV and speaker world. Room specs L 11' 2" X W 11' 3" x H 8' 2" puts me under 1000 sq. ft. But is it overkill and starting from scratch just doing 2 sealed 1000's in opposite corners as opposed to just 1 2000 ported or 3000 sealed? The only subwoofer I have ever owned is in my Ram pickup truck, lol.

Not that it matters since I went for the PB2000 Pro anyway, just curious. And I'm also coming from an old SB1000. But I haven't critically listen to the difference.

Btw, I have two of the SB 2000 b/c my listening room is small. And I bought the first one in 2016 and just added the second one. I got the original version b/c I have Dirac with DLBC, so I can do the crossover on my receiver, or if I wanted to I have a miniDSP 2 x4 HD, so I can do the crossover and DSP including Dirac there, so I was able to pay only $500 for the second SB 2000. And two SB 2000 will be more than enough subwoofer bass for almost anyone in a reasonably sized room.

Why not buy 5 or 6 more subs so they can ultimately be returned via SVS’s generous return policy?

Had me fooled for a second there. It’s actually the sb-2000 PRO and not the sb-2000 👀

When people get hooked on listening to equipment they tend to lose their musical brain cells.
    And testing in a garage?
