Great video. Thank you. I happened to discover a little anode on the 9.9 kicker as well.

Nice points, few knows about them. Worth mentioning: "the anode is worn out, when remaining mass of anode is 60% left". The fact "u see" the anode, does not mean "u have it working as intended"

Thanks for watching!! We have such an amazing waterway out here in the Pacific Northwest, all the way up to Glacier Bay and back. Congrats on your R43. Those are nice boats!

Strange. Aluminum DOES form a protective layer. Aluminum's a very reactive metal; it reacts the instant it's exposed to air to forming a protective layer of aluminum oxide when aluminum gets oxidized and loses its valence electrons to oxygen atoms. But I know that a galvanically opposite activator is used in the alloys of anodes. Cadmium in zinc anodes and Indium and some other activators for aluminum that I cannot discover online. But the fact that I don't understand this should come as no surprise. Here is an introductory quote for a technical paper on aluminum anodes submitted at a corrosion conference and expo:
"However the processes and factors which affect performance, including composition, operating potential, and current density, are not yet fully understood."
    There you have it.

Why isn’t there an anode on the bow thruster of a Ranger Tug R27? Is it because the thrusters made of composite material?
