  • Paul McCartney is urging everyone to drop eating meat for just one day a week in order to make a different in the world. His non-profit, “Meat Free Monday” created a documentary short to encourage people to become vegetarian just once a week. In an interview with National Geographic’s editor-in-chief Susan Golden, he explained why he became a vegetarian 40 years ago.

      i haven't watched it but i think free ranged eggs are fine if you ask me. i get eggs from chickens in my garden. that's the one animal product i cant see wrong with eating so long as the chickens live a happy/natural life.

      @BitterVoid where did animal guts come form lol. "Ask someone what eating too much will do to you" bruh what is this supposed to mean. I mean there are some cons with plant based diets like not enough protein, nutrient deficiencies like iron and calcium just to name a few. There are definitely some side effects to eating meat but as long as you dont eat too much meat it should be healhty for your body.
      Vegetarian products don't cost more than animal guts because its healthier and better for you its because animal guts aren't usually used and eaten so they cost very cheap. Vegetarian food is also more expensive since it is hard for companies to produce them but for meat it is pretty easy since they have farms that can produce animals without much cost. Also i don't know if you're being serious or just retarded by saying that meat eaters are poor/undecated people

    I did landscaping for a small company and my boss owned a farm next to the shop we worked out of. Every day, there would be the same cow watching us load our equipment in a trailer and I would pet it when I would see him by the fence. After a while, I started feeling weird and awkward knowing I had made a connection with such a lovely animal yet I had no problem eating it. I became vegetarian since that realization. I'm so glad I never got to see those gruesome documentaries to become vegetarian.

      @utilitymonster8267 5 лет назад +3

      Moreno Gomes, Paul agrees that one day isn’t enough. It’s just when you push everyone to immediatly go vegan because it’s immoral, it will lead to cognitive dissonance. So that will lead to nothing. If you ask people to slowly stop eating meat, mofe people will eventually become vegetarian and even vegan. And that will eventually lead to less animal harm.

    • @utilitymonster8267
      @utilitymonster8267 5 лет назад +1

      gary smallwood, I agree, but in 99% of the cases animals were being abused. But still, let’s just assume there is a pig who had a beautiful life. Would it be ok to take his life away from him, just because it tastes nice?
      Try the meat-free monday, experiment with vegetarian and vegan food. I think if will be much easier than you think.

      Conor Dunmore, ‘food chain’ is actually just an observation of nature. I don’t agree with that being an argument, it could also be nature to eat humans, but that doesn’t make it moral in my opinion.

    People don't need to quit eating meat fully, not if they feel that's too much. What's needed is that we must eat less meat in order to save our planet. In fact, we need to cut down on many things we find as luxuries. No need to quit if you feel that's not possible for you, but you sure need to think things over. Is it needed to eat meat everyday? Is it needed to drive your car to places where you could take a walk or where there are bus stops so you could take the bus? We need to reflect, that's what we need to do.

    Can definitely avoid meat one time per week. All week. Impossible. My gut cannot eat 70% of the foods in the produce section. Hard to digest veggies and fruit cause gut bloating and massive pain. Yes, I have tried every probiotic and digestive enzyme imaginable. I also do not like eating processed food like pasta which also irritates my tummy. There is a reason why people are eating ALL MEAT diets. They have to. Almost everything else really hurts their tummy. Fortunately I can eat things like spinach and potatoes and well cooked onions and carrots and bell peppers, etc. When I eat meat, I stick with organic, free range and hormone free because it is healthier and the animals have a better life. But I just cannot feel guilt about my diet. I try to keep my meat consumption low. But it is a total myth that ALL humans can be veggies if we want to. Some people's guts are extremely sensitive. I am at the top of the food chain. I do not abuse it. I am conscious about it. But I am living a life of pain when I eat tangerines, broccoli, and arugula when an properly raised animal that is raised well only experiences a few seconds of pain during best practice slaughtering.

    • @ondraspendlik9759
      @ondraspendlik9759 6 лет назад +8

      There is a difference between not agreeing and respecting. I respect his opinion, even though I don't agree with it. He clearly doesn't respect vegetarians and vegans and doesn't have compassion for animals. Also, his comment is clearly meant to disrespect vegetarianism, veganism and Paul's Meat Free Mondays. I would guess you're a meat eater too, right? Well, animals are living creatures and no human should have any right to use, own or harm any animal (except for obvious cases such as self defense from attacking animal). I might have put it in the wrong way. It might not be about how much compassion you have. I know people who are meat eaters, but are even more compassionate to other people than me. This is about having the right kind of compassion. The one not just for people, the one for every living creature in this world (and don't come at me with the plant thing, it is scientificaly proven plants don't feel any pain). So, he might have enough compassion (which I don't think he has, because purposely eating meat in front of a vegetarian solely to piss him off isn't nice at all), but doesn't have the type of compassion, which would help the whole planet to have a better life (it's not just about animals being alive, it's also about all that's done to produce the meat, starting with wasting huge amounts of ground and water to grow plants used for overfeeding animals, which could instead feed all the people, including the poor, and also all the animals, if everyone switched to veganism, going through the huge amounts of CO2 produced during meat production and ending with better physical health of the mankind, again proven by science). I hope you are satisfied with my answer and I hope it explains all the reasons why we're doing what we're doing and why I reacted to his comment in such way
