- Last year, Hideo Kojima discussed his deep encyclopedic knowledge of film and the deep influence cinema has had on his work. It was a one-on-one conversation led by Kong: Skull Island director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts. This year they return for a follow up that shifts the focus toward the creative process. We will focus with specificity on how Kojima-san has pushed boundaries in staging action, camera movement, creating mood, writing dialogue and directing performance.

It amaze me so much that NO ONE in the comments pointed out that Jordan Vogt-Roberts(hipster with the beard or whatever) is the director of the next Metal Gear movie. That's why he is spend so much time with Kojima the last couple of years, and finally becoming friends with him. Kojima will produce the movie, and should be involved in the creative side of it. That's why this guy was invited as a "host".
Omg I didn't know that! Thanks a lot for pointing it out. Hopefully it'll be the first movie game that doesn't suck. I'm stoked for it now seeing the relationship these two guys have
The movie will be produced by Arad productions, the same guys that created Marvel Studios(sounds familiar?). Now, they had plenty of money to buy the rights from Konami and produce the film without problems. Arad productions will produce the movie along with Columbia Pictures, whose parent company is Sony Pictures Entertainment(they are going to distribute the film too). Kojima will be writing the script along with another guy named Jay Basu and the same Vogt-Roberts. And as far as right now, it seems that everything is going well with the development of the movie. So...we just have to wait.

Man, 12 yrs in Japan but I couldn't keep up with Hideo for long. That translator is a prodigy.

Pretty sure that was Christopher Randolf, the guy that used to play Hal Emmerich in MGS that explained to Sam that he would create a time void if he was found in the third trailer.
+Eddie Mobbs Sounded like someone with a Spanish/Latino accent to me. I'll be surprised if it's him doing that voice, but since we don't have full cast listings and I've never heard him try that type of accent, I guess it's possible it could still be him.

It's hilarious how many here have no idea who the host is, that he's a director and that he is friends with Kojima.
He's one of about 10 people outside the studio that know what the game is about.
It's also hilarious how people mistook this for a Death Stranding panel or interview... when it's not. That interview was with Geoff Keighley and Lindsay Wagner earlier, lol. This wasn't meant to focus on the game.

I kinda just want to buy this game to support this company. Hideo Kojima is an absolute legend.
In this interview, you could see that Jordan is hungry to get better -- asking the real questions to gleam true insight and knowledge from Kojima and thus improve his own work.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts truly wants to learn from the best and that is how you get better.
I know this because I'm the same way and I do the same thing.
I thank God that I was taught to know and understand that it takes extreme humility to grow, improve, and transform one's self and ascend to not just new heights, but to new realms!
And Jordan, like myself, is some of those people who fathom that.
This interview session is really powerful because sickly profound questions is being asked towards someone who is incredibly wise and gifted in their craft.
And when you ask brilliant minds the right questions, you won't just get just answers, but enlightenment which would make your mind more capable -- more intelligent than before.

Most the time in my own naive ways I wish people spoke english to explain it completely themselves.. But when it comes to Kojima, he makes me want to learn Japanese. His translator tho is amazing.

MR MOORE™ Did you know that many scenes in films and games are made out of sequence and put together by editing teams along with everything else to put all aspects of the entire project together. So yes, the ending mo-cap may have been finished, but that could mean anything from it being done 30% through production to the end process before editing... Bottom line, wrapping up the end of a scene no longer tells us how far in development a film or ip is. Sorry to kill your vibe bro
MR MOORE™ its not a movie a game needs to be playable from start to finish a game dev brings the actors to finish the mocap as fast as they can cuz actors are expensive then they start constructing the game then edit the mocab assets in game and cut scenes then comes the sound which is the hardest thing in a game usually the sound team get paid more than anyone

Single take cut-scenes feel so fresh. MGSV imo is better than even Birdman( though that were limited because they were shooting IRL). Also I'm tired of people saying Kojima is the "cutscene guy" is a genius game designer, just look at P.T, MGSV:GZ, or any of his prev games. The whole KojiPro studio is super talented from Yoji Shinkawa to the translators. BTW you can skin the cutscenes in MGS4.

I just hope its not only about delivering packages and stealth segments. Death Stranding looks amazing, also looks like it runs the risk of being very boring, needs a good balance of combat as well, maybe it will be shown in the next trailer.
