Here is our previous, in-depth interview on Kong: Kong: Skull Island Director Won't Return to Monsterverse (Jordan Vogt-Roberts Interview) -- ruclips.net/video/XyWm6KDINIc/видео.html
I hope this guy that come from NOWHERE that if he use CGI / Green Screen on ANY Metal Gear Solid movie like he have done so for Kong : Skull Island (wich is the same quality we have seen in ULTRAVIOLET (2006) and more recently in GHOST IN THE SHELL (2017) .....his soul will find NO REST from the Fans Legion. ....I mean , if he's truly a cinema affecionado and want to make a name for himself , this guy NEED/MUST to go through blood and mud like Francis Coppola have gone through for APOCALYPSE NOW for Kojima & Shinkawa san , 7th Art and History's shake !!! .....they are NO OTHER way to do it. this is NOT a fucking Marvel movie ! Remember what Christopher Nolan have done for the Batman Franchise ! LESS CGI BETTER THE MOVIES WILL BE !!! Wish you sucess !!!
Reading the title, and listening the first half of the video the director talking shit about a critic who talking shit about his movie, you think he's talking shit about Landis. Then Landis comes in half through, and says he loved the movie, there is no battle between the two. Click bait much?
I literally just said. He's on record for talking about how he liked the movie on twitter. That is an admission of a critique. OP called this click bait because he assumed there would be a battle, anyone who follows Max knows at this point. Pretty sure there was a Twitter moment about it too. So. In essence. Yes. OP did play themselves.
So, the interview is with the director of Skull Island (Jordan Vogt-Roberts) and was crashed by Max Landis in the last few minutes. Max Landis is prominent in the thumbnail and not the person the interview is with. not only that; the director's name isn't on the title of the video or even in the description. Okay!
Bryan Cranston's 30 minutes or so annihilate the entirety of everybody in Kong Skull Island. I think Godzilla was better in every aspect, especially direction (I really hate slo mo in action scenes).
Tanmaya Agrawal I expected it to be a bad film and it was anything but bad. It was fun, it was dark, it was funny, the effects were brilliant. It's a smart action film posing as a dumb action film.
Aboubacar Amine Your thinking of if he had said----Max Landis's looks did a total 360 with his regular haircut.----As where anything less than 100% would not be completely better. Just a fraction of better. 👨🏼🎤
Props to this guy for being earnest, and actually understanding film criticism. Wasn't the biggest fan of the movie myself, but it's good to this degree of level-headedness within the industry.
I don't usually put up with his kind of crap, but after watching him for a while I've found a deep appreciation for Max's insight and arrogance. We need people like him. I hope he doesn't ever change. I mean if nothing else he got me to check out "Skull Island."
I really liked it as well but from what I remember I think people thought the characters weren't well developed and that like the plot was weak but personally it's a fun monster movie not a deep Oscar movie haha
+Godzeny24 they also wasted the talents of all the gr8 actors in the film that if they replaced those actors with random unknown actors this would just be another B movie
It's a plot driven movie, and most critics and filmgoers alike reward character driven movies. To some people the movie lacked depth, which can be an oversight when the characters are not compelling, which they are not in Skull Island, however because the movie is focused in other things, such as action, the monsters and the history and those things are done right, it shouldn't be a big deal.
I want to see the deleted scenes for this interview. There are points when max seems like he's in the middle of a salty sentence, and then it jump cuts to the middle of a completely different sentence. It does that throughout.
Max Landis is a bag of mixed emotions for me, in one hand I love him for having his own opinion and not being shy on not agreeing with the mass but on the other hand some times hes just too arrogant and thinks he can do anything better than the people he disagree with, Kong was a fun popcorn film just like most of the MCU films.
I'm right along these lines. I enjoy the creativity of his mind, and a good chunk of his work, but the way he formats his thoughts towards others (as opposed to when he's just spinning his own yarn) is so very grating. I can even half agree with him sometimes but never without wincing heavily. Oh and he's pretty much the worst in debate format like MovieFights.
Fatty Belly Max Landis, like his ideas and ideals are in a constant state of flux. One moment he's saying cinema is dead the next he's writing a script, the next he's shit talking a movie the next he's praising a director. I truly believe he's living life by the seem of his pants. I admire and simultaneously am annoyed by him.
Watch the full video, the director was not talking about Landis. Landis shows up at the end of the video and says he loved Kong. It's a click bait title.
Wait, Landis liked the film and supported why with an interesting analysis on its philosophy. Did you even watch the video-- he was defending it, not hating it.
LONG LIVE STEELO Max Landis had a long Twitter rant on Skull Island. The host should have clarified that's what the director was referring to in the video.
Between this and his last interview with Roth, this guy seems SO COOL and down to earth, a very thoughtful guy. I wasn't in love with Skull Island, but I did think it was fun, I had a good time in the movie, but a person who's this thoughtful about movies in general gives me confidence in his future work. He loves his work, but he also cares about how it's taken, and doesn't have too much ego to take in criticism. It's really great. Keep it up sir!
Kong was great. The minor problems I had with it weren't glaring issues. I really loved the movie. So what critic was trolling the director by being 1 part nerd 1 part old man 2 parts insulting?
+Godzenvy24 I disagree. Most of all the humor came from John C. Reilly, and he was spot on-- definitely the best character in the film. Regarding the environments, I agree to some extent. I love the world Peter Jackson created and his vision of Skull Island, and this movie's just pales in comparison, though there's *some* great looking areas.
This is the guy who will make or break the Metal Gear Solid Adaptation... this helps get an idea of what/who his priorities are and I look forward to it, extremely cautiously.
I don't agree that this is a click bait title. Max and the director DID debate the level of nihilism apparent in the movie. Just because the mostly agree doesn't mean it isn't a debate.
Good to see Mr. Castro has turned over a new leaf and gotten a fresh start as a Hollywood director. I guess it's true what they say, it really is never too late to change, even after you're dead...

/tiphat to Roth and Jordan Vogt-Roberts for two excellent, interesting interviews. Well done.
ScreenJunkies News that beard is on fleek
I hope this guy that come from NOWHERE that if he use CGI / Green Screen on ANY Metal Gear Solid movie like he have done so for Kong : Skull Island (wich is the same quality we have seen in ULTRAVIOLET (2006) and more recently in GHOST IN THE SHELL (2017) .....his soul will find NO REST from the Fans Legion.

He seems really level-headed, which usually means he's willing to learn. I expect good things from someone like that
Reading the title, and listening the first half of the video the director talking shit about a critic who talking shit about his movie, you think he's talking shit about Landis. Then Landis comes in half through, and says he loved the movie, there is no battle between the two. Click bait much?
Marius Malus it was a different critic in the beginning and max landis is not a critic
they're trying to appease everyone. clickbaits for the stupid masses, flickbait for the pseudo cynics
Max isn't a critic, obviously that's not who he was talking about....
Max Landis is a writer. Not a critic. AND Max is already on record talking about how he liked the film on Twitter. You played yourself.
I literally just said. He's on record for talking about how he liked the movie on twitter. That is an admission of a critique. OP called this click bait because he assumed there would be a battle, anyone who follows Max knows at this point. Pretty sure there was a Twitter moment about it too. So. In essence. Yes. I actually liked Kong Skull Island, it was pretty good
no. that one was better. but Kong was still good.
AWSM. Yes you're right
Bryan Cranston's 30 minutes or so annihilate the entirety of everybody in Kong Skull Island. I think Godzilla was better in every aspect, especially direction (I really hate slo mo in action scenes).
@@LostUtopiaFilms godzilla was boring
Kong skull Island was a really fun movie. The action and cgi were really well done
Tanmaya Agrawal I expected it to be a bad film and it was anything but bad.
It was fun, it was dark, it was funny, the effects were brilliant. It's a smart action film posing as a dumb action film.
And where's the "battle"? And you guys(ScreenJunkies) complain about click bait haha
I didn't know Matt Peake was a director
Stefano Padilla /\

Max Landis looks 100% better with a normal human haircut
So he looks the same ?
Aboubacar Amine "100% better" would be 200% of his previous look. Just like a "50% raise" would imply 150% of a previous salary.
Aboubacar Amine Your thinking of if he had said----Max Landis's looks did a total 360 with his regular haircut.----As where anything less than 100% would not be completely better. Just a fraction of better. 👨🏼🎤
Kyle Carnett But wouldn't one say he received a 50% raise? Not a raise of 150%. 😜
CorbCorbin no, 150% of a previous salary would still be a 50% raise
We need more of BOTH of these excellent gentlemen on Screen Junkies!
Okay I had to come back to this after the Honest Trailer hahaha fuckin awesome xD
Props to this guy for being earnest, and actually understanding film criticism. Wasn't the biggest fan of the movie myself, but it's good to this degree of level-headedness within the industry.
This video was better than I thought it was going to be.
This gives me hope! Thanks guys
The moment Max Landis is wrong, he changes his position... This happens EVERY interview.
I don't usually put up with his kind of crap, but after watching him for a while I've found a deep appreciation for Max's insight and arrogance. We need people like him. I hope he doesn't ever change.
I mean if nothing else he got me to check out "Skull Island."
I want more random stuff like this! Good video guys
Skull Island was predictable but it didn't need to be a masterpiece, just fun like it was.
When Roth tried to end the video and then it continues in glorious chaos for 5 more minutes. xD
Wish this was longer!
Wow. Now I actually *want* to watch Kong Skull Island.
"Battles" is a bit of an exaggeration.
It's flick bait
Can someone explain there issues about kong island and why they didn't like it.
To me it's an good movie .
they liked it, just Max Landis is talking how nihilistic the movie is with the characters, not in a bad or good way, just how it is
I really liked it as well but from what I remember I think people thought the characters weren't well developed and that like the plot was weak but personally it's a fun monster movie not a deep Oscar movie haha
+Godzeny24 they also wasted the talents of all the gr8 actors in the film that if they replaced those actors with random unknown actors this would just be another B movie

Mr Awesome it was just dull and boring to me. I thought it sucked. but I mean whatever.
Metal Gear
This video needed more Max. But excellent interview; I loved Kong Skull Island.
This was great lol. Completely unexpected. So much chaos lmaooo
can someone link me to this video from comic con?
I wanna see this panel so bad
That beard... Game of Thrones, give the man a role!
Who`s the critic they talking about and is there a video of that "battle"?
sooo looking forward for that honest trailer!!
I want to see the deleted scenes for this interview. There are points when max seems like he's in the middle of a salty sentence, and then it jump cuts to the middle of a completely different sentence. It does that throughout.
Oh my god this went off the rails so quickly but I loved every second!
WHERE CAN I FIND MAX's SUNGLASSES?
Can we get a more interviews that Max Landis crashes
Yea, let him crash an interview with Daisy Ridley.
I agree, most critics don't know what they are doing. They just say whether they like it and don't really get into the pieces of the movie.
Is that reviewer/filmmaker panel online anywhere? sounds harsh
Couldn't used a recent picture of Max.
Why does it matter?
Max Landis is a bag of mixed emotions for me, in one hand I love him for having his own opinion and not being shy on not agreeing with the mass but on the other hand some times hes just too arrogant and thinks he can do anything better than the people he disagree with, Kong was a fun popcorn film just like most of the MCU films.

"We are not Everything Wrong with!" Thank God.
"no, we're not Everything Wrong With!" lol that was great Andy.
This guy is a really good sport. I have a new found respect for Kong Skull Island now.
Gotta love Max Landis!
I love max landis so much. His passion for film is amazing
I love the way Max waddle/scurries off screen at 9:39
What an episode! Just Great!!!! Can't wait to watch an honest trailler WITH the director!!!
Max Landis TOTALLY reminds me of Scott Mantz. Their voices and body language are soooo similar.
Anyone else go into this video thinking the 'infamous critic' they were talking about was Max Landis?
Man, Jordan Vogt-Roberts seems like an awesome dude. Really want to see this movie now.
Kong was great. The minor problems I had with it weren't glaring issues. I really loved the movie. So what critic was trolling the director by being 1 part nerd 1 part old man 2 parts insulting?
I really didn't like Kong but this guy seems like such a cool and chilled out guy
WOW! Can't wait for the HT!!!!
How was this a debate?
That beard, man. Can't tell if it's real or a stick-on.
even the guys from duck dynasty think it's too much
The guys from Duck Dynasty grew their beards for the series, right? Before that they were clean shaven.
the CG Artists are the merit of this movie
Make the Victor Frankenstein Honest Trailer w/ Landis commentary happen!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!
Most film critics start from the premise of the reviewers hate for film-making as an art form.
Wow. Nice click bait title.
I don't know what is the problem Kong skull island was really 😊
+Godzenvy24
I disagree. Most of all the humor came from John C. Reilly, and he was spot on-- definitely the best character in the film. Regarding the environments, I agree to some extent. I love the world Peter Jackson created and his vision of Skull Island, and this movie's just pales in comparison, though there's *some* great looking areas.
But to be honest I only came because of Kong
MR.BEAST 33 Pretty terrible script.
If Gareth Edwards didn't do an extended G14 film, then Vogt Roberts won't get that chance either.
I legitimately really liked Skull Island, I don't get all the hate. It was a really fun monster movie with a bad ass world they created
I feel as though this video has been incorrectly titled.
Skull Island was pretty fun.
The most impressive thing about this, is that Max has normal hair now.
Hey, I'd love to get a Victor Frankenstein honest review
Who's the actual critic he's talking about at the start? Googling it but I can't find anything about that debate/event.
This is the guy who will make or break the Metal Gear Solid Adaptation... this helps get an idea of what/who his priorities are and I look forward to it, extremely cautiously.
'CHRONICLE 2: Martyr' ... MAKE IT ALREADY!!
Kong skull island was great. It delivered what the trailer promised. It said Steve Bruhl would be in the movie, and it delivered!
2:18 to 2:28 couldn't agree more
Click bait? maybe, but i just clicked to read the full title and trying to understand it, but it was faster just watching the video.
Casually waiting for this guy to be picked up for a DC movie
Jordan Vogt-Roberts looks like the white version of Juice from Flatbush Zombies
Where can you see this debate Jordan had with this critic??
I don't agree that this is a click bait title. Max and the director DID debate the level of nihilism apparent in the movie. Just because the mostly agree doesn't mean it isn't a debate.
The Kong action scenes were cool, the story/character motivations made absolutely no sense.
Max doesn't even show up until the video is 60% over.
At least get Max to take a new thumbnail photo. Where's JTE
YO VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN HONEST TRAILER PLEASE, AND SPY KIDS YALL REALLY NEED TO DO THOSE
I just seen on Jordan Vogt-Roberts IMDB hes rumored to be doing a metal gear solid movie.
I could never really parse out just why I loathed Kong Skull Island until I heard the director talk about it.
"We're not 'Everything Wrong With..."! They list things; we're comedy!" - Oooooooooh!!!!
Spot on with what he's saying about the death of intricate criticism
I thought "Max Landis Debates" was going to be a new show on ScreenJunkies! Turns out he just crashes an interview lol
Great guy, great film
The Kings of summer is an awesome movie, I really liked skull island as well 👍
How much of this did you guys cut? probably all the interesting bits.
Max Landis is the best!!
Uhm...what was the theme of Skull Island?
I thought debates involved to opposing points of view. This is more like a chat.
Do a vicktor frankenstein honest trailer
What the hell is Max doing with a bottle of Chinese cough syrup?
i wanted more max
The only thing I didn't like about Kong Island was Tom Hiddleston's impersonation of a samurai with a gas mask.
Get this guy in movie fight, he'll be great
Good to see Mr. Castro has turned over a new leaf and gotten a fresh start as a Hollywood director. I guess it's true what they say, it really is never too late to change, even after you're dead...
Max Landis is embodiment of youtube comment . O wait
Who still buys dvds?
That is a wonderful beard.
LOL THATS A CHINESE COUGH SYRUP ON THE TABLE
