There is already a Star Wars book about Jar Jar Binks during the Empire's reign. He entertains children on the streets of Naboo and then he tells this child who comes up to him about his role in the Senate and the fall of the Republic. This book was also published after TFA was released so it has to be a part of the main universe and not Legends.
I love the idea of Jar Jar just being played straight. Where he's actually written as a funny character rather than shoved into "funny" scenes as some moron. I would even be okay with him being Snoke... except it isn't some master plan, he's just kind of fumbling his way around being evil, mostly just repeating the things his First Order advisers argue about. In the end it turns out that Jar Jar/Snoke is just a puppet of the force, and yeah, Hux is the real enemy. So when Luke reveals that he's too old to actually fight and our heroes find our there is no great Sith Lord, it's just Kylo and Rey on this weird coming of age adventure figuring out how to balance between light and dark to defeat the First Order.
I really enjoy watching Jenny candidly explain her relationship to Star Wars and fandom in general in this episode. It's such a core part of her online persona but she rarely drops the act and talks about it the way she does here.
They should write a movie or tv show together. At the start of each episode they'd have to have a disclaimer about the dangerous levels of sarcasm the viewer is about to experience.
I kept feeling like Jenny was trying so hard to make Max settle down because her schtick on the show is weirding his guests out into silence...but she couldn't contain him
I never said they were as funny, I'm just saying these two have a similar attitude and even the video editing in this one is very much in an RLM style.
At least JJ Abrams did admit he just didn’t think of that and agrees it was a mistake, Much better at taking feedback than yell at the fans Johnson x,D
These fair weather fans that can stick anything to anything, even though a popular art form enjoyed by many, it is not close to the practice of storytelling. "Don't make making sense stop you," the dark side thoughts repeat to JJ, 'Because the public will hug your film before they get the desire to kick it in its gut."
Filip Orvik The channel Red Letter Media does a fake parody show making fun of "geek culture" podcasts and shows. The catch phrase is "very cool," hence Max Landis's shirt.
It's such a fucking shame because all the people that criticise the film going "omg that script is so bad" assume that the script and the dialogue/ plot/ characters in the finished product are exactly the same. If they'd read it, however, (it's available online if you just search for it) they'd realise that, had it been adapted faithfully, it would have been fucking excellent.
This has been my favorite episode of The Millennial Falcon. It was entertaining seeing Jenny interact with Landis, and the conversation they had about Jar Jar. I would enjoy seeing more interactions like this, since she has such a unique, onscreen, personality for extended periods like this rather than just quick 1 min interactions.
Jenny: "Well that was a great discussion about Star Wars. So, now, I think it's time for you to leave." Landis: "Leave?" Jenny: "Leave." Landis: "Oh, okay. Yeah, sure." Jenny: "Okay." Jenny: "Do I get up and go?" Jenny: "Yes." lmao
Max your ideas are not only provoking, by get you to introspect and reflect on WHY you feel a certain way about movies/comics/shows. Thanks and keep up the pitch work!
On RUclips app under this video it says "one year ago" but I mean it's technically 23 months ago and therefore must be before certain hashtag me too revelations. I like to think Jenny's sarcasm is thinly veiled wariness and disdain.
This is quickly rising up the ranks of best ScreenJunkies show. That being said, Rogue One is my third favourite Star Wars film of all time! Love that movie.
The irony that now we've essentially gotten this story in Mandalorian and on top of that, Ahmed Best (Who played jar jar) played a jedi who protected and transported grogu in season 3 lol
Between this and the Comic Con babes video Jenny continues to intrigue me. I have a lot of respect for what she does. I'm not convinced I enjoy watching it but maybe I'm just enjoying it a different way than other videos? Also love Max in everything he does, you can't fake passion and creativity like that.

“Ah, the calm before the storm.”
Jenny Nicholson casually yet brutally roasting Max Landis is my aesthetic
I don’t think you know what you’re saying
Lmao
Okay that Jar Jar trailer idea. I WOULD KILL to be in the theater if that was a legit movie just for the audience's reaction
+Paul Singam Jar Jar wasn't THAT annoying.
Or they could just make the logical choice and bring back Ahmed Best.
There is already a Star Wars book about Jar Jar Binks during the Empire's reign. It needs to play the same song the Logan trailer did- Hurt.
Anyone complaining about Jenny hasn't seen her channel and how amazing it is.
This is amazing! I miss seeing Jenny interact with real humans so much!
Oh my god, a video with max landis where he is the grounded one
Carlos De la Luz right? Who'da thought we'd see the day lol
these two should host a show together
HE BROKE NEW GROUND
Carlos De la Luz 😂
He's always the grounded one
I really enjoy watching Jenny candidly explain her relationship to Star Wars and fandom in general in this episode. It's such a core part of her online persona but she rarely drops the act and talks about it the way she does here.
I just love the fact he is wearing a Nerd Crew shirt. Very cool.
figuratively speaking of course.
I SAW MAX LANDIS MAKE AN "I CLAPPED" JOKE AND I CLAPPED. HE BROKE NEW GROUND
I KNOW WHAT THAT IS
I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW IT TOO.
He is also wearing a redlettermedia tshirt
It subverted my expectations of Max Landis.
I M G O N N A C U M
Max Landis is like the first guest to actually feel at home on this show. His sense of humour matches Jenny's very well.
They should write a movie or tv show together. At the start of each episode they'd have to have a disclaimer about the dangerous levels of sarcasm the viewer is about to experience.
They should star in a TV show together as a married couple called
"The Awkwards"
While it's not my favourite episode, Max had a totally different way of communicating with Jenny, which I found extremely refreshing.
I kept feeling like Jenny was trying so hard to make Max settle down because her schtick on the show is weirding his guests out into silence...but she couldn't contain him
Well he was holding his own until Jenny told him to leave
When he proposed a Logan-esque Jar-Jar Binks movie ... I felt emotions hitherto unknown.
the trailer idea alone is fantastic
How long has Jenny been on SJ!?! I just discovered her and I have to say I like her candor, style, and wit.
I heard a crazy rumor Max...
lmao
Lolo Bond yup. Just a RUMOUR
TheLuigifan8881 continue to ignore victims
@TheLuigifan8881 it's just a weird coincidence that his ex girlfriend and former co-workers have backed up the accusations.
Me personally, I think Max's shirt is very cool. Very cool.
I clapped because I recognized it
Keep on hitting them home runs, Landis!!!!
I like Jennys dry humor.
This is like if RedLetterMedia ran Screen Junkies.
Superultramegaa LastName redletter media is far funnier to me, but I can see where you're coming from
I never said they were as funny, I'm just saying these two have a similar attitude and even the video editing in this one is very much in an RLM style.
Superultramegaa LastName yeah I get what you mean
The editing dude, its actually good.
And the Nerd Crew shirt he's wearing, referencing said RedLetterMedia makes this all very cyclical.
Jenny is so dry she might as well be a martini.
DrLipkin She leaves her guests shaken, not stirred.
she's a dirty martini. (that's a drink, look it up).
Is Max's "VERY COOL" shirt replacing RedLetterMedia?
a3HeadedMonkey didn't get the reference. Very cool.

I don't know why the princess Leia hugs Rei after the death of Han. She didn't know her, she should be hugging Chewbacca
wild mangrove yessss! I liked this movie but small details like this took me out of it.
Yeah.

Why is this all over the comment section?
Filip Orvik The channel Red Letter Media does a fake parody show making fun of "geek culture" podcasts and shows. The catch phrase is "very cool," hence Max Landis's shirt.
But why is it written about 8 times down the entire comment section? Is it because he said, very fun eight times in a row in the video?
Filip Orvik It's repeated a lot in the parody, not a specific amount of times though.

Now i wanna watch a buddy-cop movie with Jenny and Max
He made m want that Jar Jar movie.... I'm actually disappointed knowing it wont ever happen
I want to see "How Max Landis Would Fix Victor Frankenstein"
Wait
Oh shi~
Can't be done
You can read it, it's a script called FRANKENSTEIN.
It's such a fucking shame because all the people that criticise the film going "omg that script is so bad" assume that the script and the dialogue/ plot/ characters in the finished product are exactly the same. Good intuition. I got caught off guard. He fooled me.
I didn't realize Michael Phelps was so into Star Wars.

I need Max Landis's Jar Jar movie in my life
Aden Burn We all do. Disney better make that happen.
I need his Jar Jar teaser in my life.
It's a redemption movie on so many levels. I love it.
Yes. I want this movie so bad.
The way he pitched it, I want to see that film, you got my interest, Max!!!
OBVIOUSLY he'd make it more snarky and then assault it. Just look at his previous works.
Very cool, very cool ...
Me, personally, I loved this video.
verrrrry cool.

Lol, max is so perfect for this show. He's got crazy ideas and is impervious to Jenny's awkwardness

Calvin James it would Improve the end result
Screen Junkies, thanks for making this exist. I could watch these two talk Star Wars for hours.
