If you don't want to block the project (like me) plan on using a larger hook so the stitches are a bit more loose AND make a wider border. I often will do a border with about 7 rows of single crochet for a tunisian blanket. The weight of the border helps to pull out the curl.
So if you don't block the end how do leave the stitches till you do the border just leave stitch marker on last stitch and bord them all together when finished with stripes? Sorry if I'm being a bother this is my first Tunisian and just wondering
@@jennykim4113 For a project worked piecewise like the one in this video I would finish the main part of the blanket first then attach at a corner and just go round and round the blanket with single crochet. For a blanket worked in rows just bind off last row with slip stitch, chain one, rotate work 90 degrees and start single crochet down the side so you don't have to cut your yarn.
I just discovered Tunisian crochet, and I think it’s so beautiful! I love your videos and the way you teach! It would be wonderful to have tutorials on baby/toddler bonnets, socks, or sweaters. There’s nothing on RUclips..
I’ve been wanting to make a gingham or buffalo check blanket and this pattern is perfect for that. Thank you for the excellent tutorial and clear instructions. I’m 7 blocks in and I love how it looks and feels already.
Your instructions are clear, efficient, and beautifully delivered. You are a master teacher and artist. This blanket is adorable and so easy. Thank you for your videos!
You always do such a great job of breaking everything down and explaining. I’m on in the middle of the second row, and this might be my favorite project.
Thank you for your lovely channel and for your excellent teaching style. I made a Tunisian baby blanket for a friend of mine over 40 years ago (when I was 18) and remember loving how solid it looked and how easy it was. I haven't crocheted since then, but wanted to start again. I searched and searched for that style of crochet stitch and when I found you--and that this style of crochet had a name--I go so excited! I bought a set of Tunisian hooks and made this blanket (throw size) for myself and I love it! Just at the blocking stage now and can't wait to wrap myself in it. I made lots of rooky mistakes on this one, so when I make it again (and I will!) I will do better. Thank you again! You're terrific.
I found your channel recently and have been binge watching all your videos. when i saw this blanket i knew this would be perfect for my left over yarn. I rode the struggle bus for quite a while trying to start the second panel. I couldn't get it joined correctly. I'm left handed. In the end I decided to make the panels separately and then join them at the end. Thank you for your great videos, instructions and patterns.
Hi, I am also left handed. I believe we need to start with the last vertical strip of the pattern and work our way to the first, essentially from right to left. I am working on this project now, will let you know if it worked better!
This is first time trying Tunisian and your tutorial I love your speaking tone and you explain so well. Just started this project but I have a feeling I'll be enjoying Tunisian crochet technique. You made it seem so easy. Thank you so much 🥰
This blanket is just GORGEOUS! and your voice is very soothing, however, I guess I'm am extreme novice because this unfortunately was very difficult for me once I got to your special stitch. Sadly, can't make this. 😢
Found this video today and immediately picked up yarn to start making it. I'm one strip of color blocks done and I'm obsessed! Love how easy you made this for us to learn while still making a very cute end result
Im currently working on this blanket as a gift for my aunt, and it is also my first time trying Tunisian crochet. I just wanted to say that I really love your Channel and the things that you make are beautiful. It has truely sparked a real interest and joy in Tunisian crochet for me (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
I don’t know how I have never come across you before. You are so talented. Your instructions are clear. Your videos are amazing (would love to see your set-up), your eye for color is fantastic. Consider me a fan for life.
I love that you teach each pattern and each video for beginners as well..i have been watching your videos nonstop for the past few days and im obsessed with your channel..i want to start Tunisian crochet but for now ill just marvel at your work 🥰🥰😍
It's magic! You are absolutely right - with your videos it's imposible to not to fall in love with tunisian crochet.. 💗Thank you very much, the blanket looks so soft and cosy 🤍🧡🌟
I’m pregnant with my third child. We live in a place where it gets dang cold! I NEED to make this blanket I love there is really no sewing ! I need to make one of these for every bed in the house! Thank you so much
I’m super excited to finally make this blanket!! I’m going to be making it for a friend’s new baby and seems simple enough to do! Plus it’s beautiful! Thanks so much for your detailed video!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video. I have wanted to do a gingham afghan for so long but have never been able to carry the yarn across to have it not show through…. This is such a wonderful way to have it just be absolutely perfect.. again thank you!
So SAWEET❣️ I LOVE THE LOOK OF THE YARN❗❣️ One thing that I love about you is that you always let us know HOW MUCH YARN we are going to need ❣️ I don't know if you realize that there are many people out there that will tell you the pattern etc... but not how much yarn needed.lol Thank you SO MUCH 😘🌹
Thank you so much for this pattern, you made it so simplified and now this is goi ng to be my king size blanket for my grandson and fiance for Christmas.
Everytime I think I have a handle on lessons, I come across another name I have never heard of before. I did not have this one on my list. I am starting to think there are many more. I also found another new stitch. Porter stitch. So this is another new one. Thanks for all your help.
Beautiful 😍 I love Tunisian crochet and I will love to see more projects with it, like blankets, scarfs, shawls and so on. Thank you for your work, you're an amazing teacher 🤗💖
I found my love for Tunisian crochet when i found your channel a few years ago. I've seen you teaching many of the Tunisian stitches and i wondered if it would be possible to alternate stitch patterns without messing up the size of each color block?
I enjoyed the video and the pattern you make Tunisian look easy, thank you. 😊 I'll be excited to try the pattern, the border is super gorgeous with it.
I have been wanting to try out Tunisian crochet but I don't have the hooks for it. Looks like I'm going to have to try this out tomorrow, i'm excited! 🤩
Just sprang for the paid PDF pattern. The Tunisian join-as-you-go technique reminds me of when I was crocheting a "10-stitch blanket" (for a LYS contest), and was constantly having to work into the side of the previous section of spiral strip as I crocheted a new strip section. (Had to use hundreds of stitch markers on that thing, too!)
i’ve been watching your videos for weeks now and just realized i’m not subscribed! just rectified that error. can’t wait to start this blanket for my niece! my sister is going to be so excited. 🥰
I really love your color selections and combinations. I’m grateful for your channel. I’d like to learn Tunisian crochet so I’m thinking a flat blanket project would be a good first project. I can crochet but I haven’t tried Tunisian yet.
Do you have a basic sweater made with the Tunisian stitch, IIf so, 'd love to see it. Was thinking of making two basic rectangles to make a sweater. Thanks for your time.
Love the colors you used for this blanket. When I looked up the yarn it is hand wash and lay flat to dry. 😢 has anyone machine washed and dried this yarn? How did it go?
I didn't know about binding off in Tunisian crochet! That will fix the holes on the top edges of my sampler blanket squares 😅. Don't know how I missed that.
This gives me so many ideas. Like, if you adjusted the size of each square and used the right colors, couldn't you create a plaid? I'm always looking for a way to do plaids. Also, if you wanted to do a sampler with various stitches -- provided the stitches have the same height -- couldn't you do that, as well?
this is a beautiful pattern....can you use this with just 2 colors? I have some blue and white yarn I need to use up...some red heart super saver yarn...
I’m going to make this. However as a left hander am I right in thinking I should start with the right panels ? Then add to the left ? Ps thanks for all your videos

Thank you for this tip! ❤
what does blocking even mean? i can’t find op video
I LOVE your use of the embroidery needle when showing hard-to-see places in the stitching. Seriously - game changer!! Thank you for doing what you do!
Just ordered the yarn to make this for a gift. Excited! Thank you for the video. Seriously a fan!
I like your voice and how you explain your patterns

Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I started this blanket with left over yarn 😍
Awesome! I'm sure it's gonna turn out just lovely. I really want to make a larger blanket with this technique, too :-)

Just bought your pattern! I can’t wait - it’s going to be my first big crochet project ❤
I love this pattern. Since I learned how to put an initial into a square from the stitch along, I will be able to spell out the babies name
Love this idea! ❤
Ouah, très joli, je vais essayer de faire cette couverture avec des restes de laine , elle est si belle. Merci 😘

thank you for showing me how to get rid of the ends not to fold. I love the way you teach. Blessings
I love that you can use a regular 6 inch hook for this! What a great way to learn and practice tunesian without having to buy hooks 😍
I can really appreciate the clarity in you tutorial . Thank you for the inspiration 😊
This blanket is just GORGEOUS! and your voice is very soothing, however, I guess I'm am extreme novice because this unfortunately was very difficult for me once I got to your special stitch. Sadly, can't make this. 😢
It's like you are a mind reader! I was just going to start looking for a Tunisian crochet blanket pattern for my sister and this is perfect!
Wow--what an easy pattern--I never knew how to join as I go--this is awesome--you are such a good instructor--thanks so much--
I am obsessed with this blanket!! Currently making it for an old friend who is due with her first baby in February. 💙
I love this. Just bought some tunisian crochet hooks from the internet and can't wait for them to get here. So neat how you join the panels together.
I'm really going to need to get a set of Tunisian crochet hook set. Like for reals this time.
Yes I just ordered some online, can't wait until they get here.
Found this video today and immediately picked up yarn to start making it. I'm one strip of color blocks done and I'm obsessed! Love how easy you made this for us to learn while still making a very cute end result
I loved making this blanket. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Super easy to follow.❤😊
I've been wanting to try Tunisian& this looks like a good project. Love that you join as you go.
I haven't Tunisian crocheted in over four years but I think I could do this one.
The best instructor

I used this to make my eldest step daughter a blanket for Christmas last year! It was my very first blanket.
Yes! Easy stash buster. Love all of your tutorials.

You’ve convinced me to learn how to Tunisian crochet. And I’m sure you have great videos to show me how!
Gorgeous, beautiful pattern and you are a born teacher!!!

Great video. Easy to understand and instruction is easy to comprehend. Thanks.
I never thought I'd enjoy crocheting (I'm a knitter), but your tutorials of the Tunisian method are enticing. Great instruction.
I’m going to be brave and try this blanket. I have one skein of different colors.
Very well explained and demonstrated. Thank you 🧶❤️
I have been wanting to try out Tunisian crochet but I don't have the hooks for it.

Perfect for my needs.
Love your RUclips videos

Ohhh I'm def gonna be making this, and gonna use up some of my stash
Love this blanket. The curling has me worried tho. I can’t do any fancy blocking. Does it curly all the time?
Good for you! Wonderful job
That's so pretty
