I am a life-long hardcore knitter (63 years old) and have just accidentally 'discovered' Tunisian crochet while searching for knitting patterns. Naturally, wanting to know more, I searched RUclips and found your amazing channel. You immediately became my go-to person for instruction in this delightful craft. I am currently binge-watching all the videos on your excellent site and have to say, Great job in explaining everything so clearly and thoroughly. Many, many thanks!

After watching several of your Tunisian crochet videos. I took a free image off the internet of a Ninja Turtle! I opened Excel and made the columns and rows look like graph paper. Then I converted the image into a colored pattern. I am making a blanket for my granddaughter for Christmas. Can I just say I have been knitting for 50 of my 66 years! I am lefthanded and knit and crochet righthanded . It was just easier.
I L.O.V.E. the tunisian crochet for blankets!! It is wonderful. I would love to send you a picture, but I don't know how!

I love, love, love that he is crocheting. My late husband loved that I knit and crochet and bragged on me, but wouldnt try to do it. My new husband is willing to try anything. He is a great carpenter and remodels houses, but anything else I want him to try with me, he jumps right in. It makes this hobby more fun for me. Kudos to Jacob. I'm using you as an example of what my husband can do if he tries.

I keep the yarn from tangling by placing each ball in a small ziplock style bag and then lining them up in a box. When you do the forward pass they will untangle and when you do the reverse pass they cross over. Also, by putting them in the ziplock baggies I am easily able to move my project around without the balls unwinding all over the place. I purchased the baggies at a local Dollar Tree. I learned that trick while working on much larger lap afghan projects.

OMG...beautiful blanket! And not just that, that was probably the BEST explanation of color changes and visual video I have seen to date on Tunisian crochet. I have looked for an explanation of color changes and weaving in the ends on different sites with no visual explanation. I taught myself to crochet and now I really want to learn to do Tunisian crochet. Oh yeah...subscribed! And I have to agree with many people in the comments...you have a wonderful teaching voice and you take it slow. Fantastic! If I could rate you it would be an A++++! Great job!

I started out despising tunisian crochet, I only had a 7mm afghan hook with a super rounded head and I felt like I was constantly fighting against curl and couldn’t figure out how to insert properly into the last stitch. For anyone who feels like me, KEEP GOING! Experiment with different hooks and yarns! Try bigger projects!
Now that i’ve been working with tunisian crochet for a while and I have a few decent corded hooks, it’s just so much fun and so adore the flowy light fabric you can make with certain stitches. Family members have loved the face washers and coasters I work up for them in free time.
    Perseverance is key sometimes 💛

I've been crocheting for 40 years, (started at 15 years old) and all I've made are blankets, scarves and dish cloths with the same basic stitches and always buy multicolored yarn which is more expensive to buy than solid colors. Your video taught me how to combine 2 or 3 different solid colors to get the multi color effect, but in almost half the time to make and less expensive! Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?? Thank you! I also love your idea of taking a timed break, to stretch your fingers and hands. I sell my dish cloths and scrubbies on Facebook, so I tend to go fast which causes pain in my hands, so that sounds like it would save time by stretching them. Thanks again! Love your videos! 💜 Lisa Donison

A suggestion I don't often see is the use of a Nostepinne to create your center-pull ball from a skein you just purchased. Mine is hollow but some videos show them using a solid wood Nostepinne with a notch to tie your beginning thread, so when you pull your ball of that tapered wood dowel your yarn ball will be set to pull from the middle. I get the same thing by pulling my yarn down through the inside of my hollow Nostepinne and securing it with tape.
Also I forgot it was you showED us how to easily thread our tapestry needle. I had never heard of that technique before and have used it ever since watching your video on doing so. I LOVE IT.

I am finally giving this pattern a try. Something I wanted to note is that the yarns tangle up on the forward pass and somehow they manage to untangle themselves on the return pass! A happy discovery!

Thank you so much for sharing how to make this blanket. I have just found out that my daughter is going to have her second baby and you have given me the perfect gift. I have never tried Tunisian crochet before, in fact it looked quite a challenge. But the way you demonstrate it is so simple to follow. So again a big thank you from across the pond. ❤

I am a new crocheter and you are absolutely the best! Can’t thank you enough for your very explicit instructions. Just love listening to your calming voice, now if you could just do a video on dieting that I could listen to while crocheting I’d be a very happy lady. 😆 You are a truly gifted instructor.

I love Tunisian crochet! I like it for afghans here in NY. So cozy and mindless to do in basic stitch. Was looking for a baby blanket for a boy in FL. I've been looking for a cotton bamboo blend to do this in. Not much luck so think acrylic but I personally prefer wool that's washable for a baby. It's the climate issue that has me stymied. Thanks for heads up on Denise interchangeable s.

I have to agree with the first comment I just read by Liz Johnson! What a great, clear teaching ability. Slow and easy. I am also just getting into Tunisian crochet and am excited. I did just purchase a couple of hooks but not the kind for the wire...now I want one. Thanks for a FANTASTIC video and I also have just subscribed. Thank you!

I just want to say that I ordered the Denise Interchangeable Tunisian Crochet Hooks that she spoke of (in a really cute pastel color scheme) and I absolutely LOVE them. I started a few projects already and I've had the hook set less than a week.

@papercuts I ordered the set on Amazon and the price was very reasonable in my opinion. Plus, added much longer cables as well. Not sure what your personal preference is but I'm highly confident you'll like them as much as I do. Hope you do!

I love your tutorials! There will be 3 babies born in my family in August, a set of twin boys and a baby girl.😳 I do so love Tunisian crochet so there will be blankets for all 3! I will use pink, black, and white for the little girl's blanket as those are her nursery colors. I'm sure I will do shades of blue and mabe cream for the boys. Wish me luck! 😂🧶🤣🧶😂

I just purchased this beautiful blanket. Totally love this blanket all around. Very, very good video. Thank you 😊 for the uploading of this video, I am a crocheter for many years, but a newbie at Tunisian crochet, I only know the plain tunisian simple stitch, and I so would love to learn the many stitches that are in the tunisian family.
